Raven is the best manager. She is the only person in the entire restaurant that truly cares about her guests and the business. She has been at this location since it opened. She works her butt off. The food is terrible and the service has really gone down hill but Raven always has a smile on her face and if it weren't for her I wouldn't go back. My fiancee went there on New Years eve and sat at the bar. The cooks got order after order wrong, take out tickets were taking 45 mins way too long, the servers were slow and I watched one wash her hands 3 times in a row for no reason. Raven was expediting the line, checking the to go orders, printing out tickets, checking people out and trying to make up for the lack of service. She could have literally ran the restaurant herself. She had 3 servers and was doing all the work. Which happens often when we go in. She does it with a positive attitude and with the lack of reliable employees, I dont know how she does it. She speaks to everyone with calm and respectful tones. I watched her train a guy on to-go orders during the chaos as well. Its impossible to be a successful manager when you have no one working together to make the restaurant flow like it should. My fiancee and I were in there again on Friday and as we sat at the bar (Raven was not present) we watched and overheard employees complaining about Raven and the franchise owner Jose collected written letters about Raven from the staff which entailed detailed complaints from the staff about her work as the manager. He shouted "make sure you all get in your letters before the meeting on Tuesday." We heard them talk about the mandatory meeting. I saw staff say that they had no complaints and asked other staff what they should write in the letters. It was horrible hearing employees rant about having to do their jobs and how they felt disrespected by Raven. The worst part was hearing Jose encourage the employees to plot against Raven when I know as a regular she works her butt off and she deserves so much more from Denny's as a whole. Maricopa knows Raven is a reputable employee and she has proven herself time and time again. If you read all of the bad reviews on Yelp you will not see one about her. If they want to blame someone they all need to look in the mirror and understand you can point the finger all you want but you have 3 fingers pointing back at yourself. If this Dennys wants to blame someone its definitely not Raven. She is the best part of this restaurant and it's the cooks, the servers and the owners will soon realize they all need to make some changes. I stopped in tonight to get some dinner only to hear Jose fired Raven. I didnt stay for dinner and I wont be going back. Jose and Zack should be ashamed of themselves. Do Maricopa a favor and shut the doors Denny's is by far the worst restaurant in Maricopa and the people that work there suck too! I wouldn't be surprised if they dont make it. This location is awful! Waited an hour for burnt and cold food. Dishes were dirty, tables not bused with wait staff just standing around. We had to wait 15 mins for a seat the place wasn't busy. I complained to the management, her apology was clearly not sincere. The man behind me also complained. She said the general manger was in the back so she couldn't understand why everything was so bad. You have 2 customers with the same complaints, obviously you're not doing something right. Make sure you're wearing your patience hat. My six year old and I waited longer than we ate. We waited to put our name on the list, we waited to be seated, we waited for breakfast and we waited to pay our bill. Out of the hour and 15 minutes we were there, we hate for roughly 20 minutes. The service was fine, the food was sub-par. The issue is that the host/hostess does everything. He was taking phone orders, ringing out pick-up orders, adding names to the waitlist, seating incoming people and cashing out dine-in checks. That is entirely too much for one person. I understand it's Denny's, expectations were not high. Spend a little more and go to The Duke or just wait for IHOP to open and have some non- rubber pancakes. read more

My first time at this restaurant and the food was very good. Our server was great. The kitchen was very busy and resulted in our meal being delayed. Literally the worst Dennys i have ever been to. Took 55 min for half my food to show up. Another 15 for the other half to show up. People were just leaving without eating the entire time i was there. I was hoping to have another place to eat. Not happy with their service or their meals. My husband and I have been there for breakfast and dinner. Our first visit we sat at the bar. There was so much yelling we couldn't hear each other. For dinner my husband ordered a chicken fried steak. He was given a hard, piece of garlic bread. (Stale). For breakfast I was served hash browns that were way over cooked. I needed some water but was unable to get the waitress to come to our table. By the time she came to our table my husband had finished his meal. I told her I was not happy about the hash browns. She said she would bring me some other ones. I told her no that I was ready to leave. When we paid at the register I told them that I did not expect to pay the full price. The girl at the register said she would talk to the manager. She came back and told me that they would not discount my meal because she offered me some new hash browns. I showed them our AARP card and we were not even given our Senior discount. I told them I will never come back. They just shrug their shoulders. I really mean it. I will never be back. And I will let everyone know how disappointed I was with Denny's. Went in for burgers the other day. They were out of Diet cola and extra napkins. Burgers were impossible to eat without a knife and fork.

I am sorry that I have to give this store low score. Let me begin that I love dining in here, but I am disappointed with the service today. Because of Covid19 and to protect my medically fragile child, I ordered online and opted for CURB SIDE PICK UP. Everything went well, I went to the spot and called the number as instructed. First call.. ring... no answer, hung up.. wtf?! Second call... ring.. no answer hung up! fuuuu! So I went inside and said I am here for curb side pick up and no one is answering the phone. The lady in the counter in blue shirt (guessing she is the manager) was just MEH. She didn't give an ounce of care in the world. Oh well, she gave me my order. My mistake, I trusted her that all my order was in there, well, because shes the manager, I'm pretty sure everything is in there, she's not gonna mess up an order. I drove home, and I live on the other side of the town. Went to serve the food to my family and guess what? the main dish were not there! I have all the sides, but no main dish. I tried to call again... no answer! I had to drive back to claim my food! We ordered $50 worth of food and I'm not gonna let this pass. The lady that I previously spoke with didn't even have the decency to talk to me. Instead I had these two men that politely addressed my issue, well I didn't hear anyone apologize, but that's the least of my concern, I need my dinner. And I told them to pick up their phone. After 4 bad breakfast experiences we stopped coming for awhile, hoping things would get better after the newness wears off. My husband and I decided to try breakfast again. This time everything was great. The food was cooked to order, and tasty. Tonight we're here for dinner, which is a first. My husband said the meatloaf was excellent. I had the gouda bacon burger on a gluten free English muffin. It was fabulous! These 2 excellent experiences are enough to make us come back again. Slow service. Good food. We waited about 25 minutes for basic pancake order which the waiter forgot to put in Yet he was very busy. The manager was defensive when we told him how long we were waiting stating that was impossible since there was no red bar pointing to the chef area screen lit. Well, after he spoke to the waiter he understood why since his staff forgot to put in our order. We're patient watching people that came in with us leave and us sitting with water. Nothing offer not even a cup of coffee. After we ask to speak to Manager a second time waiting another 10 minutes he states our order was moved up and is on the way not apologizing but providing explanation that the staff is new to Denny's culture. We ask for something to be done since we've waited at least 35 minutes for food. He ask what you want coffee. We look confused bc we noticed he just comp the table across from us a party of 5. Guess we being a party of 2 deserve at least pancakes for this non sense. Well, he did comp us and our appetites were lost. Will wait to re-visit maybe since others have had not so good experiences. Denny's has always been one of my favorite restaurants. However, after this experience I am disappointed to say that I will never step foot in another Denny's. When our drinks were delivered we had to ask for straws twice. We ordered a skillet with a side of toast, two grand slam sluggers, and a bacon avocado burger. The grand slam sluggers are supposed to come with juice. We had to request the drinks multiple times only to have them delivered in to-go cups when we were done with our meals. One of the sluggers had untoasted, unbuttered bread on the plate and the toast for the skillet was not delivered. We watched the servers throw the toast away twice. Again, we finally received it when we were done with our food. The burger had hard, unripened avocadoes, and was missing tomatoes and onions. We spoke to a supervisor about all of the issues and she came back to our table offering us a 10% discount. We asked for a larger discount as all four of our meals were missing items. She referred us to her assistant manager Zack, who said 20% was the most his general manager could offer. Disappointed with this, we asked to speak to the general manager. Zack informed us that his general manager refused to speak with us and wouldn't even give us the general manager's name. Additionally, my father-in-law is a 20-year veteran and the manager denied him his military discount. Finally, after we had listed our complaints, the assistant manager asked us to leave in a rude and unapologetic manner. Absolutely abysmal service all around. read more

Not going to order online ever again. This is an absolute wreck. We paid extra for avocado and I kid you not, I got half a slice on one half of my sandwich. It's $1.29 for extra avocado, and the sandwich already comes with it! I also requested to get hash browns instead of fries. I got fries, now, I wouldn't be so bothered by it //if they weren't on the Philly sandwich??// yeah.. they put the hash browns on the sandwich. I would be furious if I wasn't laughing so hard. Whenever we had called, the person who spoke to us was a little bit rude and seemed irritated, most likely because they had been dealing with fixing issues all morning. All in all, we're just going to stick to eating there so if any mistakes are made, we can get it handled then and there. Worst service I've experienced at any Denny's across the country. I waited to place an order over the phone for pick up for 25 minutes, decided to drive down there to order my food and their excuse was that the phone was having a busy signal. No apology, nothing! Placed my order, waited 45 minutes for 3 plates of food. I'm sorry but it isn't a busy Friday night it's a Monday afternoon the place is half empty! If I could give it less then 1 star I would. Also previous order I had was spaghetti, barely any sauce, meatballs were dry like they were defrosted and sat out, noodles were dry and crunchy. Antonio was our server and My Brother and I went for a late night meal it was Really Good. Great Bourbon Burger and T-Bone Steak and eggs. The Burger was juicy, not dry . The lettuce was crisp and the portions were splendid. Our Server was very capable of handling more people and I did not once have to ask if I could get a refill. He would be looking over at the table I would raise my cup he would nod and then on the way back around my drinks were topped off. That in my opinion means the service was spot on. We waited as others were seated and served. We waited 30 minutes and no one served us. So we decided to leave and go to sunrise cafe. Glad to have a Denny's nearby. It's still extremely busy even a few weeks after opening, so there's been a wait both times we've gone, which is not fun when you're hungry. But both times, once we got seated, things got better, as we got good service and good food. The hubby and I went for breakfast on a Friday. We asked for a booth as we like that best. We were told there were no booths available and we saw numerous clean booths open. We also saw people after us ask for booths and they were told the same thing there are no booths open. We accepted the table and enjoyed a tasty breakfast and the waitress and her helper in training were pleasant and friendly. Had we been given the booth which is more comfortable for us I would have given a higher rating. I will go back and will ask for a booth next time and if there are booths available and they don't want to let us dine there I will just leave and choose to go to another place. The waiters/waitresses all seemed pleasant and worked really hard to provide good service. We had a night of piss poor service. My wife ordered garlic butter steak I ordered a pecan crepe breakfast and we ordered zesty nachos for an appetizer. The waiter had tattoos on his right arm like an ex prison inmate. We requested the appetizer first and this dude said "the nachos are going to take a while" SOOOOOO right off the bat we were at the very least getting our appetizer AFTER our meal but oooh it gets better!!!! He brings out our food and my wife's steak was munchkin sized and gravy was dripping off the plate soaking our mashed potatoes and we ALWAYS get the country gravy NOT the brown stuff. Our regular waitress always asks what kind of gravy we want and do we want it on the side or not. Nope assumptions all wrong all the way. We were waiting for our nachos and were told the meat was THAWING not being prepared out of turn but THAWING like we were gonna wait a couple of HOURS for our nachos!? Ya think maybe he should have mentioned this FIRST!? On top of that the tiny steak had no garlic butter on it and he tried to charge us for the nachos that we're still THAWING. Slow. Table. Empty. People who are waiting excessively. Long. Wait. For. That. Reason.

We come to this Denny's about 3 sometimes 4 times a week. We've had minor problems here and there, food taking too long, cold food, running out of food, etc. always let that slide because my family loves Denny's and they've got great food. However my dad and I went in this morning and ordered breakfast, my dad is a diabetic and he takes medicine that is MEANT to be taken with food so when he bit into his food and said it was horrible I knew he meant it. Ice cold, hard biscuit, cold eggs, my French toast was cold. We asked the waitress for ice water and she never brought it. Got my French toast with no syrup, and my dad's biscuits and gravy looked like they took a tea spoon of gravy and dumped it on it. He asked for more and she took about 10 minutes to bring that so by that time his food was more cold. My dad wouldn't just send back his food to get a discount, he was hungry and because of not enjoying his food he didn't get to eat and took his meds on an empty stomach. Here's where it gets hilarious.... we tell our waitress about the situation. She goes and gets the manager. In case you're wondering which manager I'm talking about, it's the one who looks like he just crawled off his couch and hasn't ironed his shirt in 2 years and forgot what professionalism means. Seriously this guy looks more like he belongs in the back of the kitchen with a broom and mop..... at a McDonald's. He came over to us and listened to the situation, didn't apologize, shrugged his shoulders and walked off. Didn't ask me if I wanted hot French toast. A waiter we've had before named Sabien, great guy, was so friendly and asked me if I wanted more. Wasn't even our waiter and got it for us no problem! Our waitress didn't come back to our table the rest of the time. She avoided us even when we needed a refill on drinks. My dad is also handicap so after I took him up to the front to pay I went out to the car to pull it up front so I could get his wheelchair put away. The manager proceeded to tell my dad that he couldn't take it off the bill even though my dad only took ONE BITE and left it. We've had numerous problems at this Denny's, the other night my mom and dad went and waited over an hour for eggs and hash browns just for the manager to ask my diabetic father if he wants a dessert for the trouble. But today they told my dad he's asked for too many discounts. No buddy... it's called when you're given lousy UNPROFESSIONAL and UNSATISFACTORY service you should be compensated for such things. Instead they made it look like my dad asks for a discount everytime and that he "complains too much". So all I have to say it, 1. When Maricopa asked for a Denny's, we didn't ask for a backwards unprofessional one ran by monkeys. 2. the manager is appalling and rude and needs to learn how to dress properly and get his head out of his ass. 3. The waitresses need to be taught how to have better hospitality and service for their customers REGARDLESS if theirs an issue or not. 4. If things don't change, they won't last. Or at least he won't. This is by far one of the worse Denny's location I been too. If I can give this place zero star I would. When I first walked into the restaurant, the hostess name Joseph was unhappy and uninterested. He did not acknowledge me. He did not greet me and made absolutely no eyes contact with me. He just grab a set of menu showed me to a table then proceed to slam the menu on the table. He slammed the menu so hard on the table that two of the paper setting on the table flew off the table and onto the floor. Joseph picked it up from the floor and put it right back on the table and walked away. He did not bother to tell who will bey server. I said there for literally 10 minutes and not one person acknowledge my existence. The manager was busy socializing with a male customer the entire 10 minutes I was there. After 10 minutes of wait I got up and walked out. As I got to the front I asked who their manager was. A few minutes past, the manager showed up. At no time did she apologize but instead addressed her employee Joseph as I was standing there. She is doing this in front of the entrance of the restaurant. Wow! Speechless. It is obvious that Joseph is a disengage employee, unhappy employee and yet he is the first person the customers sees and interact with. There was only 5 customers in today the entire restaurant at 9:10pm on a Wednesday. They are just do busy that they cannot acknowledge me. If they are so busy with 5 customers, what is it like doing rush hours? Horrible customer service, horrible management, and horrible staff. read more

If I could I'd give them no stars! We ordered takeout last night. We drove there to pick it up. When we got home my order and my granddaughter's order were fine, but only the chicken fried steak was in my husband's order, no corn, mashed potatoes or garlic bread sides and no salad. When I called back the woman on the phone was rude and would not let me speak to the Mgr. I spoke with the boy who took my order and he said he'd have to speak with his Mgr re: the policy. Call me stupid, but I'd think the policy was you give the customer what they'd paid for. We drove back to the restaurant and took in the box with the chicken fried steak. They gave us the sides and handed us back the chicken fried steak we brought in which of course was cold now. You'd think for all of our trouble we'd get a new chicken fried steak. The Mgr, Chad, never came out to talk to us and the Hostess, Shayla, was extremely rude. We have many other options in Maricopa and Ahwatukee/Chandler is not that far. This place used to be really good to eat at, however, since the new IHOP opened up down the street from it, it has turned into a slum. First, we waited about 20 minutes because the kitchen was down. Then when we ordered our food, the server brought out our child's grapes first before her actual entree. So her appetite for her entree was ruined. Once our food got out, my Moon Over My Hammy was so scrawny and skinny looking that the two pieces of bread were literally touching together. I could barely see any of the egg or ham. My husband's double cheeseburger was pink and raw in the middle. Thank god he had cut into it first before biting it otherwise he would have gotten sick. We sent the burger back and were shocked at how quickly hey came back with another burger even though it took them 12 minutes to make the first burger. The re-order burger took only a mere 5 minutes. Our drinks were not mixed properly at all. The serve heard unsweetened ice tea for my husband's Arnold Palmer, and my half sprite half lemonade was all lemonade and only a quarter of flat sprite. I will not be coming back to this place. The only good thing we ate was the Mac and cheese for our child and it came out of a box!! read more

It was 8pm. It was late. We were hungry. Denny's was new. So, we went. You know, when you opt to go to Denny's, you have to lower your expectations. Unfortunately, this one couldn't live up to even those lofty aims. The two of us ordered the steak tips, and the "special" caramel-crunch pancake breakfast. The tips were OK but, despite the waiter's valiant attempts at exchanges, the sides were soggy and obviously "reconstituted". The salad was good. The breakfast was a disaster. There was absolutely nothing crunchy about those rubber disks from the special pancake menu. Absolutely nothing like the picture except the whipped cream topping which had absolutely no fear of melting atop those cold disks. The eggs and sausages were also cold sitting next to the only warm item, the hash browns. The waiter offered a discussion with the manager, but we declined. It's Denny's after all. read more
