On a long road trip and we were looking for a place that wasn't fast food where we could take a break from being in the car. Plus, we needed gas so this Denny's was the perfect spot to stop for both (except the whole complex is getting a makeover so couldn't get gas and the bathrooms were on the other side of the construction barrier, but I digress.) Karen greeted us warmly and seated us promptly. The place was mostly empty, it being a weekday in late afternoon, so service was prompt and attentive. This particular Denny's location is located in a truck sto, but don't let that deter you. It is just off of Interstate 10 and so it is extremely convenient for travelers to get off the highway and grab a quick meal. Denny's tries to capture that old-school diner ambiance and for the most part succeeds. The service was friendly enough. Today I visited a Denny's restaurant. I want to point out that I have been living in America for only a year and a half, and I've been to Denny's many times before. I also ordered the Chicken Bourbon Skillet more than once. But today, when I ordered the Chicken Bourbon at this location, I was absolutely amazed. The food was magical. First and foremost, this place is huge. They could accommodate a whole lot more people than the few that have been dining here at the times that we've been here. Since they have stayed in business for years then I am going to assume that there are times when this Denny's is hopping. I do know that the next time we get out to have breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday morning (especially on football game weekends) and all the breakfast places in Tallahassee are going to be packed then I am going to think of this Denny's that's actually not that far from home. It's located on the end of the Flying J truck stop at the westernmost I-10 exit for Tallahassee. Denny's is one of the few places where you can still get some breakfasts for $10 or less although this most recent visit showed that they too have breakfasts that nudge $15. Regardless, breakfast is always good here and service has been friendly and attentive. read more

Let me start by saying this customer service is trash food was garbage and the staff all act like they were tweaked outta their minds! making mistakes on orders cook arguing back and fourth with whoever runs the business at night cashier that took my order gave me intoxicated vibes becus she couldn't ring up my order and had another pregnant waitress to do it! There was hair in my food. It does not match the texture of my hair. It was a ten dollar meal. I told the manager Riz, it's what he said his name is. Indian male, that i was more concerned with hair being in the food versus a refund because I often stay right across the street and eat there all the time but He tried to start a conflict with me rather than a resolution. One of the best Dennys I've been to and being in a truckstop makes it a stunner. The service was fantastic and the food was very good as well. I had the chicken fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and loaded baked potato. The meal was $14.99. Adding a sweet tea, took me to $18 and change. Surprisingly good restaurant. We walk into the restaurant and Al greets us with the most friendly welcoming smile and says he is so happy to see us and thanked us for choosing their establishment! You cannot get customer service like that anymore! Our waitress Anna was sweet and attentive! The food was cooked EXACTLY how we ordered it even with our special request. Extra crispy bacon, and I finally actually got it as ordered! The food was delicious! Our table of 6 got a variety of different items including lunch and dinner foods! Yummy! The one thing that ruined my time there was one of the cooks taking a nap on the bench row across from where I was sitting, just unpleasant to me. Service was horrible. Sat at our table 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there. People came in after us and got waited on before us. Many servers walked by to clean off tables and retrieve their tips but could not be bothered to acknowledge our existence. The hostess was pleasant and helped out with our dilemma. Wait staff needs to learn to consolidate their moves and take care of customers as a team. Once we were waited on it took a while for our food. People that ordered after us got their food before us. So, I don't usually do reviews on too many chain restaurants, but this one is pretty good. In fact it was so good I ordered it twice in a row this week. I have the app on my phone and ordered breakfast to pick up. When I arrived the first day it was hot and ready to go. My wife's eggs over easy were perfect. The hashbrowns were crisp on the edges and soft in the center. Pancakes light and fluffy. I had the ultimate omelet and I can say it was one of the best I've had, no brown eggs and stuffed with yummy goodness. The grits I ordered to substitute for hashbrowns were really good, but needed a touch of salt. The next breakfast I ordered was the t-bone steak and eggs for my wife and the spicy skillet with over easy eggs for me. Again, everything was hot and ready to go when I got there. Eggs beautiful. Steak, though a little grisly, was medium rare and seasoned nicely. That skillet was spicy, flavorful and full of peppers, onions and chicken. I was delightfully surprised. My only complaint is that the app does not have the full menu. Grits are not offered and I had to request that grits to be substituted for hashbrowns, which they did. Overall, a very good experience. The cook did awesome cause the food was delicious and done super fast! Seldom have I had good experiences, well, perhaps that is over stated a bit, memorable experiences, at a Dennys and if they were memorable it was for all the wrong reasons. We live near this particular Dennys and it has become our go to when we just don't want to cook, breakfast and dinner mainly and seldom does it disappoint. Renee is usually our server, knows us by name and often by order, there is an element of family to our local "joint". When we have had challenges we explain and seldom does it happen again. It's a Dennys, I expect them to be just that, a Dennys. It's always quiet but every once in a while there will be some business and you can really see the team gel in those times. I like this place. Burgers are ALWAYS on point, reminiscent of a home grill cooked burger, I do love some nachos to munch and the ability to get a 1/2 order is quite convenient. Breakfast is always a solid choice here any time of day. So there it is, for us, convenient, clean, consistent, people smile here, so, yes, it's a Dennys, it's a good Dennys. read more

Took long to get food, not busy at all perhaps 4 tables with guest, very uncomfortably cold in dining area. Food was not all served completely, had to wait on fries. Overall ok. Went to dennys on the 6th of may, did an online order the young lady who gave me my food was very polite so I told her I left a tip on my card for her.. she replied thanks but we don't receive them tips for online ordering the manager takes the online tips.. then she said leave cash for now on when you order online because they never give us our online tips. I've been thinking about this all week thinking that's not fare for management to take their tips I'm figuring Dennys should be paying the manager better so they don't have to take from the servers...... I come often and see the servers running around working hard that's not far.. shame on you Dennys taking from the girls when they make little of nothing being a severe.. so for who ever is reading this and do online ordering don't leave a tip on your card leave cash so that the girls would be able to receive it... thanks signed that's not right read more

Overall it's only mediocre. We stopped by fir breakfast and it was good. Staff was attentive and breakfast came on hot and in a timely manner. Which lead us to believe it would be a good stop a couple days later on out return. We were mistaken. Again good staff. I ordered spaghetti. That was a mistake. The spaghetti came out in tight curly pieces. I had to use a knife to cut them, and cold. No parmesan cheese. No bread, very little sauce. Meatballs were ok and pretty warm/hot. Wife had a burger with fries. They also came out in a clump. Not very edible. But the hamburger was ok. It is one of those hit or miss truck stop resturants. Gave this place two chances, months apart. The reason for the low rating is because in EVERY avenue the restaurant falls short. Hostess- unfriendly greeting Waitress- got same one both times and she is not good at her job. She visits way to frequently at the beginning even though it's obvious we are still looking the menu over, then after that the visits are rare. She is also not cheerful. Manager- sat literally 8 feet away from us the whole visit and never once asked how our meal was. Coffee- weak and tasteless Food- lukewarm pancakes, bland meat & hash-browns, makes waffle house taste like Disney world. Cleanliness- I've included a picture of extensive mold/mildew on the ceiling and ductwork. You can see where some spots have just been painted over to cover it up. Where's the health inspector???
