Stack of Pancakes- 7/10

Stood at the door for a bit, when they were not busy. Once seated, service was good. Food came out quick. Store needs a good cleaning (windows/glass doors).

NEW Pumpkin Pecan Pancake Slam
Alex S.

Let's start off by saying obviously this is a denny's, it's a chain diner, food expectations shouldn't be extremely high. Personally, I love the occasional trip to Denny's, and I always end up coming around the same time of year: Pumpkin Season™. The pecan pumpkin pancakes are delicious. The service was exceptional as well. Our waitress, I believe her name was Christina, was very friendly and helpful. Despite the fact that we came at 10am on a Sunday, the service was very speedy and the building was clean.

Looks like one order of hash browns instead of two
Jay Ef Jai ..

I won't EVER come here again. I ordered two sides of bacon, sausage links with cheese, two orders of hash browns and two orders of toast with butter on it. No butter on the toast. Cheese not melted on the links. The links are as big as my pinky finger! Two strips of bacon is an order here. My two orders of hashbrowns looked like one! Incompetence and no pride in its purest form

Come on Dennys!!! Get some authentic turkey breast for your sandwiches..not that cheap shit..

I was hungry and Stoney Point kitchen closed at 9pm. So here I am stuck at Denny's. GEEEEEZ For almost $13 you would think they'd have authentic turkey breast.. Too much mayo..oozing out the sandwich. OY

Finally received my food.
Anaya G.

I wouldnt even give them a full star! This was torture!!! Sure, this was Christmas. The wait was 30min. No problem. The place was filled wall to wall. Understood. 7 people in my party. We were all patient. We were together, hungry, but we we looking forward to time together-for the holiday breakfast/lunch. We ordered fairly fast. I ordered first. And when the food came- everyone's food came, BUT MY FOOD. I had eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns. Nothing major. Everyone else had nachos, steak, burgers, skillets... all things that would take LONGER to cook. My daughter never recieved her pancakes. My cousin never received her pancakes. So I sat, I waited. I waited. I sat. And then I got up and asked for a manager. I explained that everyone at my table was almost done eating, and I had yet to get my food. She made multiple excuses for my food not being on my table as everyone else enjoyed their meals. She said to me "well maybe the food dropped and they had to remake it, maybe one of the burners went out in preparing the food, maybe it hasnt been cooked yet..." And I am thinking to myself "REALLY MA'AM!!?? ALL THESE EXCUSES AND NO EGGS!???? As we get the check, I told the server(Matthew) that we never got the 2 orders of pancakes. I asked for the manager once again. She was clearly agitated with me now. Much chit chat later about their negligence, she took my food off the bill. I get to the register to pay for my bill, I utilized my $5 off from YELP And the young man(Zack) proceeded in cashing me out. I noticed that the total amount for my bill had changed from what my printed recipe stated. I shared this with him. He didnt know why. It was different by over $10. Then noticed my bill came up as someone elses bill. She couldnt figure out how to fix it(the manager) had to refund the difference in cash to me!! I was completely OVER IT. The sad part is that I frequent this place. I have had small hiccups. But today was a freaking nightmare of service and accountability. The attitude regarding the errors were nasty- and THAT is why the review is as bad as their attitudes and service!!!!! No matter if it's a regular day, a holiday... doesnt matter. All service should be given well. Excuses dont fix the issues. It will he a while before I come back. This was truly horrible today. Shame to the manager. Shame!

Help stop the use of styrofoam in carryout containers.
Dorelle A.

I was very disappointed in not receiving a response to my letter to this, my local Denny's or from their corporate office, requesting they consider using decomposable carry out containers. Sustainability should be valued by the restaurants we choose to support with our business. Denny's is still using styrofoam for carry out meals and/or "doggie bags". 3 million tons of styrofoam are produced each year in the U.S. and no meaningful recycling exists.

Denny's has the best seasoned fries ever and I'm a huge fan of their ranch dressing!! So crispy and full of flavor.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The food is absolutely outstanding. Every dish we've tried has been fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The portions are generous, and you can tell they take pride in both the quality of their ingredients and the presentation of their meals. The beautiful bar is equally impressive. (I've been told that the bar top was made from wood from the existing building before it was beautifully restored to its glorious new appearance). The bartenders are top-notch--friendly, knowledgeable, and truly talented at their craft. Their margaritas are some of the best I've ever had, and the cocktail menu offers a fantastic variety of creative and expertly crafted drinks. What really sets the Doc on Front Street apart is the combination of excellent food, exceptional cocktails, attentive service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Whether you're stopping in for dinner, drinks with friends, or a special occasion, this place consistently delivers a first-class experience. If you're looking for a new restaurant to try in Mokena, I highly recommend Doc on Front Street. It's a true gem, and I'll definitely be returning again and again! -- Dave Z

When our server finally came over, he only took our drink order and left without asking if we wanted appetizers or were ready to place our food order. Our drinks were delivered by a third server, and then we waited approximately 20-25 minutes with nothing but drinks and menus. During that time, we watched the table next to us get seated, receive drinks, and even get their food while our server never checked back in. Eventually, I flagged down another server and asked if she could please put in an order for calamari. She was very kind and helpful. A few minutes later, our server finally returned to take our order, and by then it was obvious we were frustrated with the wait. Unfortunately, instead of immediately putting our order in, he stopped at the neighboring table to chat for several minutes with what appeared to be regulars or VIP guests. As for the food, it was underwhelming overall. The calamari lacked flavor, although the marinara sauce served with it was excellent. I ordered the grouper with mashed potatoes -- the grouper was just okay, and the potatoes were dry and disappointing. Overall, this was a poor dining experience from start to finish. We were excited to try this restaurant, but within minutes that excitement turned into disappointment. Sadly, we will not be returning.

The service was extremely friendly and welcoming. Danae was our server again, just as she was on our previous visit, and she delivered the same excellent, attentive service. It's always a great sign when consistency carries over from one visit to the next. The Friday Fish Fry features four pieces of cod, each cut into roughly four-inch portions about the circumference of a quarter. This size allows the fish to cook evenly while maintaining its moisture and flaky texture. The cod is very lightly beer-battered, which we really appreciated--it enhances the flavor without overpowering the delicate taste of the fish. The standard accompaniments are cornbread and a lightly seasoned, fresh jicama slaw. One of the nice touches is the flexibility with sides--you're allowed to substitute fries and/or coleslaw for other options. I opted for a cup of the soup of the day, which was Cajun she-crab (excellent), along with onion straws. There are several other side choices available as well, some with a minimal upcharge. Our second experience was just as enjoyable as the first. We'll definitely be back--not only for the fish fry, but to explore more of the menu.
