Let's start off by saying obviously this is a denny's, it's a chain diner, food expectations shouldn't be extremely high. Personally, I love the occasional trip to Denny's, and I always end up coming around the same time of year: Pumpkin Season™. The pecan pumpkin pancakes are delicious. Terrible experience on St. Patrick's Day, 2026. The prices on the special menu were so inflated. Then they kicked us out before we were ready to leave even though we were eating and drinking plenty. We came early to get a good table and to listen to a particular musician. The six of us were told to leave when he just got started after spending $600 on food and drinks.I was in shock over the rude treatment by the management in this restaurant. The manager Twylla or however you spell it, seems to hide in the back or behind the counter every time we come on the weekends for breakfast. The servers are always busting butt, seating, serving and ringing out customers while the magager doesn't offer any assistance. Today there was a line of guests out the door for 15 minutes plus and servers had to buss the table to sit one group of people after they had to wait several minutes. When I asked my server about the manager she gave the same pathetic excuse of being short staffed and while some of that may be true, it's no excuse for a manager to ignore the situation nor to get out and assist the servers. If this place can't maintain a reasonable staffing, perhaps they should close or find better management or even better owners or investors. Woman waiting to pay finally walked out after waiting 10 minutes to pay and NO ONE came to the register. Good for her. As always, food is good. Our regular server is always great. Management, however will be the thing that keeps us from returning. My advice do better Dennys. read more

I love the service and the staff at this location and have been eating here for years but lately the quality of food has gone down tremendously. The hash browns potatoes are different. They taste like shredded potatoes mixed with shredded plastic. Totally inedible. I had pumpkin pecan pancakes and they were awful too. I think they're using a different batter. Anyway I now have a terrible stomach ache. I think they also bought the Hickory Hills location because their potatoes are gross as well. I guess I'm going to have to start cooking at home on weekends or find another place to eat. I'm not gonna pay to eat low quality food. I'm actually sad about our meal. We stopped here since we were on the go. They had one waitress working the entire restaurant, and two cooks, unfortunately because of this we waited a little over an hour for basic food. Pancakes and eggs, and a sandwich. I wouldnt even give them a full star! This was torture!!! Sure, this was Christmas. The wait was 30min. No problem. The place was filled wall to wall. Understood. 7 people in my party. We were all patient. We were together, hungry, but we we looking forward to time together-for the holiday breakfast/lunch. We ordered fairly fast. I ordered first. And when the food came- everyone's food came, BUT MY FOOD. I had eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns. Nothing major. Everyone else had nachos, steak, burgers, skillets... all things that would take LONGER to cook. My daughter never recieved her pancakes. My cousin never received her pancakes. So I sat, I waited. I waited. I sat. And then I got up and asked for a manager. I explained that everyone at my table was almost done eating, and I had yet to get my food. She made multiple excuses for my food not being on my table as everyone else enjoyed their meals. She said to me "well maybe the food dropped and they had to remake it, maybe one of the burners went out in preparing the food, maybe it hasnt been cooked yet..." And I am thinking to myself "REALLY MA'AM!!?? ALL THESE EXCUSES AND NO EGGS!???? As we get the check, I told the server(Matthew) that we never got the 2 orders of pancakes. I asked for the manager once again. She was clearly agitated with me now. Much chit chat later about their negligence, she took my food off the bill. I get to the register to pay for my bill, I utilized my $5 off from YELP And the young man(Zack) proceeded in cashing me out. I noticed that the total amount for my bill had changed from what my printed recipe stated. I shared this with him. He didnt know why. It was different by over $10. Then noticed my bill came up as someone elses bill. She couldnt figure out how to fix it(the manager) had to refund the difference in cash to me!! I was completely OVER IT. The sad part is that I frequent this place. I have had small hiccups. But today was a freaking nightmare of service and accountability. The attitude regarding the errors were nasty- and THAT is why the review is as bad as their attitudes and service!!!!! No matter if it's a regular day, a holiday... doesnt matter. I was very disappointed in not receiving a response to my letter to this, my local Denny's or from their corporate office, requesting they consider using decomposable carry out containers. Sustainability should be valued by the restaurants we choose to support with our business. Denny's is still using styrofoam for carry out meals and/or "doggie bags". 3 million tons of styrofoam are produced each year in the U.S. and no meaningful recycling exists. read more

Worst food ever, I ordered curbside pick up. I picked up my Brisket breakfast sandwich and when I opened it I discovered it was burned, charbroiled. I was so disgusted. I would love to give 5 stars, this Denny's has always been great, I used to crawl in here in my 20's after concerts. All was lovely until... we go up to pay and I try using the $5 check-in coupon from Yelp and the guy checking us out was literally arguing with me bcuz there was no barcode to scan so he can't accept it. We needed some breakfast food for dinner - so we hit the Mokena, IL Denny's and it was great. The food was hot and the prices were less than some local breakfast joints. The best part about our experience was our server Jazmin. She is the happiest person and was super attentive when we needed extra napkins or drink refills, which seems simple, but too many restaurants ignore the little things. She made us laugh and helped make a menu substitution with ease. When we go back, we will ask to sit in Jazmin's section! read more

I found out that I would be charge for what I sent back. This particular Denny's restaurant is well run. The servers and hostess are always pleasant and efficient. The food quality and taste is consistent. The tables and seats are always clean. I should add that this location is pretty quiet. I usually see older people dining here, couples and a few people who are dining solo. Not too many children or large groups. Delicious coffee!!! Definitely try one of the "Slam" breakfast combos if you want more for your money. Those are $7.99-$9.99. Some include juice and coffee. Food comes fast and servers are never too busy to attend to customers' needs. You will want to leave a tip... If you dine here a few times, expect to be remembered. In 2017 that is a nice touch. Ugh. Ok so if you read my other posts you know I am fair and honest. But I just had to vent over this...so today, Friday, June 4, 2021 we visited this Denny's. We arrived around 6:15 pm. Hardly any cars in the lot so we thought we'd be seated right away. There was a guy with two small kids ahead of us. My hubby and I see that there are plenty of tables including booths with those high partitions in between. Wait time we were told was 10-15 minutes. Why? Plenty of seating more than half of the US is ""vaccinated "" and we can't get seated. Illinois has opened up and we still are unable to enter without a ***mask*** and can't sit near other customers. Why? I thought the whole reason for these free jabs was to get back to normal. I was very disappointed in this Denny's and I have no idea how these places will make it with only half of the tables being used and served. read more

If you are into pain and abuse, stop at this Denny's in Mokena, IL. Hopefuly they will take your order within 15 minutes of being seated. But if the server does not arrive timely, and you attempt to bring your concern about an incorrect beverage order to a person alleged to be a manager, don't be surprised if the server begins to call you names. Given the lack of customer service, the only vice he needs to be proud of is a superb job of failing to ensure a proper restaurant envirronment for customers. If he is not available you can leave your regards with an Antoinette, a person who claims to be the Human Resources Manager. This is a typical Denny's with all the usual things on the menu. It's open 24/7 and it serves all the meals on the menu all the time, the same as other Denny's I've been to. There are always several vegetarian options available at Denny's. They actually make one of my favorite restaurant veggie burgers--ask for the Boca Burger. You can also substitute a Boca patty on any of their speciality burgers. Denny's is what it is... This one won't let you down, and I ate here twice while we were in Mokena, because it's fast, convenient, and always open! read more

Our server was one of 3 servers in the entire restaurant this evening. They had to clean off a table to seat us, so no one actively cleaning tables. Our poor sever had multiple tables,was cashing out customers, seating tables, answering the phone and running food. The restaurant was totally understaffed and no manager to be found.
