While most Denny's provide very consistent service across the board since this is a chain, I wanted to recognize this Denny's in particular. With servers who are absolutely sweethearts they go out of their way to make you feel important even if you're just spending enough to order off the $2/$4/$6/$8 menu. The ONE time I did have an issue here I expressed a concern to the manager (tall guy with dark hair) and he took care of it immediately and with such grace and was so kind and understanding. Myself and wife went to our favorite Denny's near a place we frequent regularly. We were seated at a table with no utensils and helped by a waitress we've had before. She took our order/s and asked what we'd like to drink. Upon returning with our drink selections and leaving to do other things we noticed the table we were seated at had no utensils to eat with and had to ask another employee to get us some. The meal delivery was broken up because the waitress said I had to wait for the Seasoned Fries to be done that were included with my burger. My wife got her "sizzling platter" and began eating her meal while I just sat there and looked on, stomach grumbling and all. Finally my meal arrived and the waitress dashed off in a hurry after setting it in front of me. First item I tried were the Fries that I expected to be hot out of the fryer. Nope! The Fries were 'luke warm'/tepid and I like mine scalding hot. I didn't even take a bite from the Burger yet but was disappointed in what I tried, so far. So, at this point I asked another waitress to see the manager to make my complaint known that we were getting sub-par service and food that sat under a warmer, it appeared to me. A guy comes out to our table and asked what I wanted to discuss. While he stood there he had his hands on his hips - which made it look like he was a boss standing over an employee annoyed at being bothered. But I told him in a kind fashion the problems we encountered and I added that my having owned a restaurant in the past - it appeared to me that the entire staff was having issues with communications. As a side note: while waiting for our food a waitress complained to one of the cooks about an order she was about to serve to customers - and the cook looked unhappy to get that complaint. That's why I assumed that there were ongoing issues with cooks and servers today. Long story short the manager kept apologizing but kept standing there with hands on his hips, snickering/laughing and looking like a General who was annoyed with whatever. I got upset at that attitude and I mentioned that I didn't appreciate his standing there like he was, and he suggested that the only other thing he could do was put hands in his pockets. I said that would be better than looking like he did with them on his hips. At which point I told him I had said all I needed to and wanted him to just FIX our issues. He responded with "you are no longer welcome in this Denny's from this day forward and to just leave our food and go!". So, we did. But not before double checking if we owned them anything at the cashier. I didn't want to be accused of theft or any other criminal action. What a way to treat a customer who's upset at the service. Wow!!!!! So, if anyone goes through Oakdale, Ca. and stops at Denny's, beware. They have bad days and defend themselves over it instaed of making it right and giving good customer satisfaction. My mom and I have been loyal customers of Dennys the past 5 years. We eat there sometimes ad often as 3xs a week. Friends with the waitress even bring them Christmas goodies and gifts. On Saturday 5/26/18 about 1:30 pm my mom& I went in for some lunch. I ordered the grilled chicken with broccoli. When I was served there were 5 small pieces of broccoli on my plate. I asked about it and the waitress said that wad the "New pre packaged portioned sized" She tried to talk to the chef and he said nothingb he could do. New pre portioned size. I told het no worries I was posting a picture of my plate. About that time the manager FLEW OVER to our table and said he would be paying for our meals and we were to NEVER COME INTO DENNYS EVER AGAIN!! I said because I posted a picture and he said Yes!! Unbelievable!! I thought we lived in a free country and were allowed to take pictures and post whatever we wanted!! Obviously not so in Dennys!! It has gotten better since they cleaned up and updated. However service was horrible on a Friday night at 10:30 at night. There was a large group waiting to be seated. The waitress did put the 2 of us at a table that she had to clean. She brought us our drinks. Apologized for how busy it was - still had many empty tables. She said the buses coming in makes it so busy - there had not been a bus in the parking lot. I thin k she was the manager when she came up to us 20 minutes later and said that she could put our order in but would take awhile to get our order. There was at least 10 tickets in front of us so could take an additional 40 minutes. We said we would leave. She said we did not have to pay for our drinks but was so quick to grab them away from us. Did see several groups walk out before we did. They just have poor management and do not plan for a busy night read more

Best Denny's. I have been here 3 times. 3 different servers. All were great. I have ordered three different burgers and they were all better than the picture. Meh! Went to Denny's to have breakfast for dinner, ordered the Choconana pancakes, with eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns. I swear I'm not that picky, but it wasn't good at all. I took one bite of the pancakes and they were gross. Had an odd taste to them, eggs were cold, and hashbrowns I didn't even bother to try. Ate my sons left over crepes instead. When I mentioned it too a waitress she said she could "give me a discount but if they returned everything people just didn't like they would be in trouble". I didn't even take my left overs. She gave me a 15% aarp discount. Seriously? 30$ for one edible meal? I've worked at restaurants and have NEVER been somewhere that wouldn't return a meal if the customer didn't want it. Bad customer service. Also, as a side note there was 2 small tables other than us and our waitress was very vocal and obviously unhappy that she was the only waitress on the floor. Love, love!! The service is wonderful.. Morning time the ladies are fast, polite, and full of excitement. Night time is a bit crowded but still fast service, still full of excitement, and midnight is more relaxed and a good speed, prefect for me!! I don't usually do written reviews but we were there Saturday night. We had Nina as a server and she was amazing, and very friendly.

We spent $78 dollars for 6 of us. Not one of us was impressed with our food. Our food was cold and sat before they brought it to our table. The hashbrowns were ok but the worse was the waffles they were delivered with cold strawberry topping and the waffles were soggy. Even the coffee had to be sent back because it was cold. Stopped here last night for a quick bite after work. We shared a plate of nachos, and thought they were flavourful. The place is clean, staff is friendly, although a little oblivious. Our waitress couldn't remember the name of the soups, and was unsure how big the nacho plate was. When I asked if she was new, she said she's worked there for a quite a while. I would do zero stars if I could. One of the old lady workers was very rude. Didn't feel welcomed at all as my party and I walked in . I was mentioning to my party that I would like a booth as I was walking to the restroom and one of the older ladies working there,rudely interrupts and says they don't have anymore booths. Was seated at last booth next to restrooms. The smell of sewer was so bad and we counted 6 flies buzzing around table and window. We asked to be moved before we ordered. They moved us one booth further away from restroom. The smell a little better and not quite as many flies. The waitress never smiled and the food was hot, but not the best tasting. Dear god don't waste ur time or money. We were greeted promptly seated to a sticky unbussed table. After that shaky beginning it started to improve. Our waitress was polite and efficient. (This is the only reason we gave 2 stars). We ordered bourbon chicken skillet and (new and improved - what the menu said) chicken strips. Holly molly if those were improved they really must have sucked before. Without question the worst chicken strips every. 3 of them were still clumped together meaning cooked outside raw and soggy inside where they were stuck together tthe other 2 were cold and left over. The skillet had so much sauce on it it was more like a stew. Really sweet and salty. The cook did not have his heart in it. Yuck on both accounts. All of this came with a 35$ price tag with drinks. One of the worst places to visit. The waitress was very rude to the customers in the adjacent table prompting her customers with only "what do you want!!!". As for our table of 7, she brought water and drinks but didn't return for orders. After more than half an hour, we left paying only for the 2 soft drinks. Cassi was our waitress. We were shown to a seats right away, after being offered the choice of booth or table. The computers were down, but all of the patrons were being served and the cashier was actually doing a pretty good job of keeping things moving anyway. Cassi took our order. I ordered the t bone well done. it came out perfectly with the sides i asked for. I thought it looked like the fried vegetables was too small a portion, but when i had eaten my fill of everything, i still had a sizable chunk of steak in my Togo box. Our birthday boy ordered chicken strips and salad. The strips arrived before the salad. Cassi apologized and said that it was entirely her fault that the salad was late. She did not even try to blame it on the computer problems. Instead she asked if there was anything else we needed and our birthday boy asked for more tomatoes. Now i HATE those red poison tasting things, but he likes them, and Cassi not only brought out more of them for him, but also some extra cucumbers and extra dressing. Our bithday boy was very happy. The third member of our party ordered breakfast. He is a teenager, but ate almost all of his meal and a peanut butter and chocolate milkshake. He wanted an Oreo shake, but they were out of vanilla. Cassi suggested that she could make the peanut butter shake with chocolate and he said yes. It sounded so good our birthday boy added the same type of shake to his order. It was our birthday boy's 32 birthday. It was Cassi's birthday too. And even though she was spending it working at Denny's with a broken computer system instead of being home with her 2 year old, she was smiling and pleasant the whole time. If i was younger, i could have proposed to her. The only real complaint i have is that the birthday boy did not get a free meal. Long ago, we only had to show an id proving it was our birthday to get a free meal at Denny's, but now you have to sign up and get their postcard. I love coming to Denny's on Sunday. No mess to clean up no dishes to wash. But I had the worst customer service this morning. My server was Corelli. I don't eat bacon or anything to do with pigs. She brought me bacon. Instead of telling me I'll take it right back she stared at me like I didn't know what I was talking about and asked me "are you sure you didn't order bacon" umm yes I am sure. When you hike back to Happy Isles at 10:30pm long after the last shuttle has left, you know it's going to be a long night. Of course, there are no good options still open at Curry Village or anywhere in Yosemite. So that means a trip to Denny's in Oakdale for a hot meal on the way home. I've found the graveyard staff to be welcoming and energetic. And you won't forget how bleh Denny's food is when you are hungry and tired after a late hike. We stopped at Denny's on a return trip to the Bay Area from Yosemite about 1:30 in the afternoon. Being 68 & having not been to any Denny's in over 30 years after being nearly a regular in my single days in Oregon, this was my first chance to order from the senior menu. I've been a vegetarian for nearly 25 years, so I relished eating the vegetarian omlette on the back page. A small one was serve to me with an equally small portion of hash browns. About 1/4 way through the omlette I discovered 1/8 inch squares of what I thought might be fried onions. My wife tasted them & confirmed to my dismay that indeed I was eating bacon. The waitress realized the mistake & had the short order cook replace it with a huge vegetarian omlette that even had green & yellow zucchini in it and an enormous new serving of hash browns. Having just hiked Yosemite for three days, I had no trouble devouring both the omlette and the potatoes. My wife enjoyed her hamburger, but I ended up on the toilet from eating bacon for the first time in over 24 years. The bill came to twenty something & I paid it without question, but a good waitress should have told the manager to comp my portion of the meal. Needless to say, I should have taken my wife's advice & found a better place to have an afternoon meal. Sorry, Denny's. I won't be back. read more

Disgusting! Flies EVERYWHERE!! I did not see the flies when I first arrived, as I used the restroom before sitting, but I returned to two flies sitting on my coffee cup. I counted 13 flies total at our table. Should not be allowed to serve food! Plus, the staff is rude. I don't know why Denny's feels the need to employ tweakers. Can there not be at least one waitress with teeth?? I'd drive a few more miles & find a Denny's in Modesto or go elsewhere. Nasty! read more
