I stopped here for a Starbucks and pleasantly surprised by the Mr.Pickles. I was happy to find 2 vegan options the truly vegan and the pesto sandwich. I tried the truly vegan with the works. The lace down the street was packed so we ended up here. We had the place to ourselves. Fast service. We ordered: Tuna sandwich: 4/5 this was good but the multigrain slides bread was soggy. They were generous with the tuna. Doesn't come with cheese and I forgot to ask to add it. Avocado sando: hubby really liked this sandwich. Roast beef sandwich: daughter said the meat was salty. My husband and I came here yesterday on the way to Yosemite because we wanted to pack some sandwiches for the hike. We have never been to a Mr Pickle (even though there is one close to where we live!) and man we've been missing out. Really like the sandwiches, we got the recommended hot premium as well as the cold cut premium. Both were delicious and very filling. We also met the owner who was the nicest and most down to earth guy. It's people like him that I want to support small local businesses! Today is November 24th approx 4:30, we like MP. My wife just got home from MP. My sandwich was very good. My wife ordered turkey with Swiss cheese. When she took a bite she noticed the turkey was not to be found opened up sandwich and it had no cheese. Yes people a turkey sandwich with NO turkey or cheese. Please MP hire people that have a brain and take there job seriously. First time ever! This happened on F st in oakdale We went back today 12-04-2023 and Mr Pickles made things right. Well as you can see the hair that was in my sandwich was deeply embedded into it. My other sandwich was actually decent but a complete mess. The pasta salad was okay. Food tasted fine but do not recommend you eat here due to poor sanitation and poor service! Also note that this is a non-masking business so patrons are not required to wear masks and employees do not wear them while preparing food. Sanitation: It's pretty obvious too when you can easily see behind the counter and into the kitchen from the front door of the shop. The floor of the shop behind the counter and in the kitchen was absolutely disgusting- food all over, didn't look like anyone had swept in hours. Employees didn't wear gloves, aprons, or masks and I didn't see anyone wash hands between handling money and preparing food. The bread is also in open bins where the bugs can easily land on it. Gross gross gross don't go here please. Service: slow as molasses, unfriendly. Honestly a ten year old could make a sandwich faster than these people. And they don't listen well, I had to repeat myself a lot. read more

I've been to a few different Mr Pickle's but this location is the BEST!!! We stopped for sandwiches on the way to Long Barn. It is made so perfect with the right amount of condiments mixed with your sandwich choice. I had the Mr. Pickle with turkey and it was delicious!!! The only down fall is the parking....! It's in a location with Starbucks and It has a drive thru so you can imagine.....If you're brave enough to tackle that, then you are in for a real treat!!! Service is super friendly!! I know times are tough for everyone, but when I voiced my opinion "on why take phone orders, if every time I come to pick up my sandwiches they are just getting started". I was told that they take the walk-in orders first. Not very good customer service. if I would have gotten an apology from the last 4 times, then maybe my review would be different. Btw I waited the last 2 times 10 minutes longer than the time they told me would be completed. The young man working the phone and prep is very polite and helpful. I love Mr. Pickles. Their sandwiches are always large and filling and tasty, the employees are always friendly, the location is always satisfactorily clean, and there's very rarely a long line/wait. Plus you get a cookie with every sandwich! Who can dislike that? However, I hate that they close at 6pm every day. Usually by the time I've decided what to get (and have the time to actually go get food) it's right around closing time and I live 15 minutes away. Sorry, but not everyone eats dinner before 5:30. I've also been here on at least a couple occasions where they're already closed and locked up 10-15 minutes before listed closing hours. But more importantly, can we address the bacon issue? I LOVE the Tom Turkey, that's my go to sandwich every time I visit a Mr. Pickles. Now, that sandwich has only three main ingredients. THREE. One of which is bacon. But if you open up your sandwich and observe the insides, you get a mountain of turkey, one lone slice of tomato, two small slices of pickles, and a tiny, soggy, half a slice of cold microwaved bacon at best. But if you ask for extra bacon (you know, so you can actually have some bacon in the sandwich that supposedly comes with bacon), it's almost $2 for... you guessed it. Half a slice of soggy, cold, microwaveable bacon. I don't know if this is a company-wide policy or just this location's policy but if your sandwich's MAIN ingredients include bacon, maybe the sandwich should actually come with a proportionate (or at least noticeable to my taste buds) amount of it? And if you're going to charge that much extra, you should absolutely put more than just a spit of bacon. Especially considering their slices are so tiny and soggy. read more

Salads are a joke. The menu says Roman lettuce but all they ever have is shredded iceberg. I got a chicken Caesar salad with brownish iceberg lettuce and marinated chicken. There is another salad that notes marinated chicken but the Caesar says nothing about marinated chicken. They might be ok for sandwiches but don't waste your money on any of the salads. read more

Omg! What happened to Mr Pickels? Took two girls to finish the one guy waiting. When one of the girls took my order she only asked what I wanted and not what we both wanted and slowly began to make my Kickin Chicken half sandwich. I had to open the sandwich to look for any site of chicken. It was a sad sorry choice. I said we also wanted a Ruben so she might make them both together but she didn't. (The other girl disappeared). I came into the local Mr.pickles in oakdale on 11/4 where i was greeted by the best and what seemed to be the ONLY employee,trinity. Who not only treated me like family but i wanted to thank her for being as calm and respectful as she was since there was a long line and her other 2 employees werent helping at all. The 5 ft girl and the skinny tall girl were just standing in the back doing nothing but talking. Trinity would make the best manager seeing as how she can handle the situation all by herself. Anyone who gives Mr. Pickles less than three stars is either not giving them a fair chance, or doesn't understand how the star system works. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Mr. Pickles, please understand that they are a franchise (most locations privately owned), not a mom and pop deli. This means that they have to follow the standards set by HQ for everything from store layout, menu, and food prep, to what vendors they use. In this sense they are no different than Togo's, or Subway. So, it wouldn't be fair to compare them to your local Italian deli, they just aren't the same creature. However, compared to Togo's, Subway, and Quiznos, Mr. Pickles is by far the superior sandwich shop. I have been eating at Mr. Pickles in various towns for five or six years, and I've only really been disappointed in my sandwich once. The Reuben sandwich is decidedly mediocre. Between the flavorless sour-kraut and soggy, bland rye bread, I could barely stomach it. Every other sandwich I've ever had has been great. I highly recommend the Golden Gate on Sourdough, the Hang Loose or Manhattan on wheat rolls, and the Hot T on sweet or sourdough. Their meats, cheeses, and breads are of the highest quality, and put their competitors to shame. And to satisfy your sweet-tooth, every sandwich comes with a free chocolate chip cookie! The Oakdale location is pretty new but seems to have worked the bugs out quickly. The girls behind the counter are fast and friendly (and not hard on the eyes; wink). The prices are the same here as every other Mr. Pickles (except for taxes), which is a little higher than Subway and a little less than Applebees. Expect to spend 8-10 dollars on lunch. I have been a fan of Mr. Pickles for more than a year. I was excited to find one about an hour away from my cabin in Twain Harte! This Mr. Pickle's is a small location 'sandwiched' (like T F. said) between Supercuts and Starbucks. The service is really friendly, much better than the average service I get at my fav San Ramon one. The bread is also a tiny bit fresher than San Ramon but I'd say the Manteca one has the freshest bread. Sandwich wise it's ok. This location is not open during most holidays & they also often run out of certain things. The Manteca one (in this area) is much more reliable because it is open longer than this one & and its open on certain holidays. I will try to continue to come to this one, but Manteca will always be my 1st choice. read more

Everything was going great until, three Gen Z patrons entered without masks even though it was clearly listed on the door that masks were required for entry. My 80 year old Father was present and we asked the young female attendant behind the counter to ask the Gen Z three to exit and put on masks. I bought a sandwich on 7/29 and while in the shop, used the restroom. It was beyond dirty. The toilet did not work and was leaking water on the floor. The toilet seat was up and there was feces on the toilet. I did tell the clerk and indicated that was not healthy for customers or staff to use the restroom. She told me the the staff have a different restroom and the owners refuse to fix the customer bathroom unless someone complains to the health board- which I will do. Shame on you Mr. Pickles establishment for not supporting your customers or your staff! read more
