Poor Service. Was told 10 minute wait with an actual wait time an hour and 30 min, Was seated and waited another 30 minutes without acknowledgment. Manger was at a table behind us and was apologized to them and said" Some got good service and some got bad service." he also stated when he goes to other restaurants he gets bad service and. maybe it's just his luck. I went yesterday to get a refund for a transaction they charged me twice in error which is fine it happens and i understand places can get busy and short staffed at times but i showed up and stood at the counter and made numerous eye contact with all the employees and no one acknowledged my presence, i asked who handles the cash register and an employee cleaning some dishes just pointed at the waiter who looked at me as i was asking and proceeded to walk around me, i gave it 5 more minutes before leaving but i will be back at much earlier time because i still need my money back, horrible service tho, a simple "I'll be with you in a moment" would have been more than sufficient. read more

Went here with a group of ten (mostly kids) when first asked how many and how many kids menus we needed, we were very surprised to hear the word awesome! Wow really? Showed up starving and exhausted on a Saturday morning, got seated way at the back corner of the restaurant. It made us feel like we were forgotten, which it seemed we were as evidenced by the fact that no one came to take our order let alone acknowledge us for well over 10 minutes. It's not like it was too busy as half the Denny's is empty. I Wasn't expecting much but this particular Denny's has more than confirmed the 2 star yelp rating. Good Denny's and all but there's a lot they need to work on. The little short guy with the glasses is a complete jerk. I came in here one time and I had him as my server. Probably the most dirtiest Denny's I've ever been to. The service was alright, some of the staff did not look so friendly but our server was quite nice. I had to tell them to refill my drink though. I don't expect A+ service from a chain like this but at least teach employees to look friendly to customers. The place just did not look cleaned up at all. Food all over the carpet. It was mine and my best friends bday and we decided to go visit san ysidro. I am a huge Dennys fan and decided to eat there never have been to this location. It was me and my 3 kids and her and her 1 kid. We were seated quickly. It wasn't busy at all. Manager Ruben seated us. Our waiter came and took our order and brought us our drinks. Again we had just came to shop and walk around it was a 45 min drive and kids were hungry. After 30 mins my kids start asking about their food so i tell my friend to go check. the waiter at this point says oh yes let me go check and puts down the bucket of silverware he was carrying. 15 mins pass and he has not returned. So now i get up to check and see him serving the plates in the kitchen. I don't approach him since i see him working on bringing it. Let me just say i have worked 4 yrs in a kitchen really busy one too and know what its like, but than again it was not busy. Finally !!!! food has arrived and i go to take a bite and everything is cold not warm cold. I literally wanted to get up and just leave the food there and walk out but we were hungry. I call over the waiter and tell him that how is it that i just saw him serve it and its cold. He explains that something had happened and the manager let the cook go home due to emergency, but what i don't get is why was my food cold was it sitting there and they just served it. He called the Manager over and explained the story and asked if id like it warmed up at this point its been a hr and a half, and i just want to eat and leave i tell him no and he apologizes and tells me he would apply a discount. At this point i just want to get up and go. The Manager was very rude and took 20 mins to check us out and treated the waiter like it was his fault when the waiter was not at fault. If he was a good manager he would have jumped in the kitchen and done his job making sure everything was done right and customers were happy. At this point i tell him if he thinks this is ok behavior and explain that it was his responsibility to run the kitchen and have back up ready before letting his cook go and or let us know not have us wait over a hr for food and get the food served cold. As soon as i paid the amount due he told me that he didn't have time to argue with me and told me to leave. That shows no interest in customer service. The waiter came outside to apologize for the horrible service and how he had asked manager to not charge me since i did wait over a hr and the food was cold, but he said no how em i not going to charge them. I told him it was fine but that i honestly would never return. My daughter got diarrhea the next day and so did i, honestly who knows how long the food was there waiting, and i am sure he didn't care about food handling safety. This is becoming my "go-to" Denny's of the few close by me: clean, new, always friendly, attentive staff. Tonight had the turkey+stuffing+side/cranberry. Excellent! Was expecting salty, it wasn't. The turkey was moist and a good amount (had the 55+), stuffing flavorful, not mushy, cranberry was great quality, mash potato fresh, light, broccoli fresh. This is by far the worst Denny's I've ever been in. It looks dirty and I was sat in front of the kitchen entrance where I could hear and see the dishwasher doing the dishes and the wet messy floor. The table was sticky and it smelled bad as if it was wiped with a dirty cloth. There was a dead fly on the window and lots of dust. I ended up here because I went to visit my cousin who works at American Eagle in Plaza Las Americas, but I wont be going back ever again. As my family finished eating they were deciding on dessert? Well 20 minutes no one came we decided to leave went to counter and we see the girl "M" won't mention name and the manager well I guess manager he had a blue shirt? I said to her you never came back we was waiting to get dessert and she said the manager pulled me from the floors and I said who was suppose to check on us? She said the manager? So while the manager was ringing us up I said why did you not check on us we wanted to order dessert he said me (manager Luis) I don't do tables I am a manager of that was the case I would not need workers! In a shocked gaze I said really manager? There should not be any one in higher position that feels like that this Denny has always had problems with getto workers that do not take pride in customer service this saddens me for me and my family are in restaurant and hotel business my daughter is a server hostess and would have never! She was with me and said mom who manages them? I will leave it at that who ever is in charge you really need to spend more time in your business! Gross, absolutely gross. The carpet hasn't been changed in 100years and it contains the dirt of every patron that's walked on it. The seats are sticky. The atmosphere itself is just gross. Now let me just point out that the service was great. Sean was amazing. But I can't get over the fact that it's disgustingly gross. 1st off the service at this place was horrible and if it wasn't for the Hostess Maribell i wouldn't have anything positive to say it just sucks that good employees like her have to work in such a poorly managed estalishment . needlesstosay, she could sense that we were beyond frustrated because after we had been sitting down for several mins and not being served or asked what wed like to drink . She walked over from the front register to ask if anyone had came to help us we told her no (as a manager was right next to us the whole time drying of utensils) she then offered to help us out and got us some orange juice and was surprised herself that no one had been to help us so she even took our order and put it in the system right in front of us . All while a manager and other servers/workers crowded around the bar area talking and waiting for the chefs to finish their orders ,not one thinking to ask us how we were or if we needed anything . This was my husband's hang out for early morning paper and breakfast when we were staying at the Motel 6. Also we ate there the night we arrived from a long drive tired and hungry. This is your typical Denny's food that you would get at any other Denny's. This is definitely an interesting location as 70% of the cars in the lot are from Baja, and its easy to forget you are in the US. The waiters will speak to you in Spanish primarily, so its a good opportunity to brush up on those 3 years of Spanish from high school that you've more or less forgotten completely. read more
