I ordered the Cobb salad, avocados was MIA. ********************************************** Service is blah. It took 11 minutes for us to get our drinks even ordered. Hostess makes you feel rushed and unwelcomed. Watching everyone else get their orders taken...passing us by. I flagged down a waitress to see who is our waitress...with an attitude saying she's not ours. OMG. I've been having the worst of luck lately with service at the restaurants I've been going to. The food was ok. Nothing special. Of course it's diner good....and I love diner food! Portions not that big....at least the food comes in hot. I ordered the veggie omelette....soaked with grease/oil. It defeats the 550 calorie meal when your food is drenched in oil. The kids grilled chicken is 3 very small chucks on a stick. Husband said the philly cheese steak was not that great. I gave this place a one star because the service was extra slow, the cutlery was dirty and I ordered the Brisket melt with fries. The fries was undercooked and mushy. I am not sure if the deep fry or air fry the fries but whatever the case they were not fully cooked. The brisket melt was four chunk pieces of meat, not shredded like the picture and I got mostly bread with every bite until I got to the oversized chunk of meat. I don't care what anyone says, Denny's makes a rocken burger. I created my own but the designer burgers are good too. It's well worth the 2 minute drive out of town. Ok, so it's freezing inside but that helps to prevent anyone from camping out in the corner. And the mid day servers are pretty good. I have gone to Denny's every year for my birthday breakfast, not always the same Denny's location, but a Denny's nonetheless. I choose Denny's for my birthday breakfast every year because they allow you to build your own grand slam and, honestly, it's a free breakfast. We went in today, expecting to spend some money and have a good breakfast. We ordered and paid, but then I checked the receipt to see if my free breakfast slam was charged, sure enough it was. No a big deal, we can have that fixed. So I spoke to a male (later found to be named Frank), assumed to be a manager by the demeaning attitude he brought to the room. I asked if we could have the slam fixed on the receipt. Manager Frank state's we had to sign up online, which is new to me because we never had to do that before, it was not manticores during the transaction, nor was there a poster for it. Frank mentioned that if we sign up, we can use it next time we come to eat. I asked why we couldn't sign up and have this transaction corrected. Frank simply said that since it was a card transaction, he can't do anything about it. This is what was absurd to me. I have worked in food service before and card transactions can be refunded. Frank then went to the back and was verbally aggressive to one of the female employees who was trying her best to make the situation resolved. The server was offering possible solutions and Frank was belittling her to the rest of the staff and customers waiting in the lobby. I am absolutely baffled by Franks behavior to the female server and the "who cares" attitude to the customers. The food tastes great, but Frank the manager will be the downfall of that particular establishment. I feel bad for the staff who has to work under him. I'm surprised at the low scoring for this restaurant. Yes I know everyone knows Denny's food, it is the same everywhere! The truth is that the food at this store was delicious. We had breakfast, the servers were friendly, accurate, food arrived quickly, was hot and tasty. Can't ask for any better. I just ordered a curbside pickup and my order had two Dasani bottled waters at $2.29 each. My pickup was in a big bag and a cup holder with two cups of tap water. Thursday, 10-24-2019, 5pm. I had a very busy morning, and I arrived to eat for the first time that day. When I arrived, there were aprx 10 people, including myself, in the restaurant. "Sky" was at the register/hostess counter. She immediately greeted me but also stated that she was the only employee / waitress there at the time and it would be a few minutes. I watched as she gathered orders and delivered them to the tables and then quickly returned to me for "seating". She then asked for my drink order, took orders from two other tables, packaged some to-go orders, ran the register, answered the phone, refilled drinks, and seated more customers. Within 8 minutes there were now 30 people in the restaurant! She was professional, calm, courteous, friendly, and SUPER efficient. It was well OVER 30 minutes before another employee arrived to assist/ help/relieve her. She handled it beautifully. I expected my meal to be cold or messed up somehow, or take forever to come, but I must give credit to the cook, and the busboy on duty that night, because my meal was delicious and perfect. SKY is outstanding "manager" material for sure, but you can start with rewarding her with a hefty pay RAISE! Excellent customer service Sky...you nailed it! read more

This Denny's like most restaurants just depends on the cook presently working. Up until tonight I would have given this Denny's location a 4, until tonight. Tonight I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and avocado. It was terrible! Here is why; 1.) My avocado was not cut but in a squishy small ball at the bottom of the salad. I would say a one inch round ball of mush at the bottom. 2.) The dressing was terrible! Tasted nothing like Caesar dressing. 3.) The bottom of the romaine lettuce stalk was in my salad, the part you give the chickens instead of in your salad! My advice is this, if you look in the kitchen and see a mid-age Mexican woman in the kitchen by all means sit and enjoy your meal, she is a fantastic cook! Anybody else, goodluck. This review is for a visit Sunday before Thanksgiving. We had a very difficult drive from San Jose and we we beat up from the road and craziness of Bakersfield. We arrived about 8:00 PM ...near exhaustion. Hoping for any restaurant to be open we spotted the Denny's sign on Mill exit. The lovely hostess/server/manager was like an angel. I'm pretty sure her name was Lailani. I just remember it was very Hawaiian sounding. The food was fresh and delicious and a good value. We had the new big patty melt special. Finally able to get to the hotel. The next morning we came back and had the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. AGAIN... fresh, absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. Food is a 9. I went to Denny's restaurant in Tehachapi CA on April 17th to have breakfast as I often do. I tried to order the same thing I always have there for breakfast - one pancake and a side order of crisp bacon. The waitress refused to take my order, saying that I had to have two pancakes. I only eat one pancake and don't believe in wasting food, so I refused. She then offered to substitute an extra serving of bacon for one of the pancakes, but I did not want that much bacon. Since when, I wonder, is it Denny's policy to tell customers what they have to buy and what they have to eat? Since they were not going to serve me what I wanted, I left and had breakfast elsewhere. As a result, rather than making over $15.00 from my breakfast on this visit, Denny's wound up making $0. That's really a clever business model! Can I do zero stars? Filthy silverware for three out of four. Waitress looks right through you when you are shaking your hand to her. Husband had to go to kitchen to get a straw.
