Half the tables food was cold and even had uncooked vegetables. This is the second time going to this location and we have been let down both times. Don't get me wrong, the customer service is very good and i have no issues with the cleanliness of the restaurant. The food both times was below average. The first visit, the omelet had no flavor and the second time, the chicken fried steak was over salted. Not sure if it's the cooks at the time but I would rather add salt then get to much salt. We were excited about getting a breakfast establishment finally in our area but we are not sure if we will go back. Wanted a hot meal after being on the road for 10 hours and when we walked in they said they weren't seating anymore guests for the night due to being under staffed. We recently returned to the Denny's on Houghton. Our first visit was right after they opened - we thought we would return and look for improvement. They had their Covid processes in place with social distancing, masks for all, and every other table closed. This was a breakfast visit - they have great specials for breakfast with lots of food ! I had eggs, bacon, pancakes & hash browns - less than $7 ! All of the food very good ! Service was also very good ! Will definitely return for another breakfast or maybe another meal. Went into grab a quick bite...took 2 hours to get our food and 3 of the 5 meals didn't come out correct. We ate what we had anyway after a promise that they would quickly remake our kids pancakes. In the meanwhile water was spilled, waited, finally went to get some napkins and tell someone what happened and they still did not come over to help clean it up. The breakfasts my wife and I had today were great. Our server was also great. The letdown was at the cash register on the way out. When I asked MIguel if the restaurant did senior discounts, he said "AARP only". So, I pulled out my Chase/AARP credit card and he said "This card has no AARP zebra-code on it." I pointed to my AARP membership number clearly embossed at the front bottom of my credit card and asked him to "key it in" as there is no AARP zebra-code on the card. He then told me that he'd give me the discount "this time only", but I needed a "real AARP card" with a zebra code he could scan on our next visit. Really? When I got back to the car, I fished around in other parts of my wallet and found my other AARP card (non credit card) which did have the zebra code. It's disappointing that this is the first time my AARP status was questioned when using the Chase credit card (which I've had for more than five years). What if the scanner gun wasn't working? Would everyone potentially be refused an AARP discount in such case? I guess I'll just have to use TWO AARP emblazoned cards, with the same AARP number on them if I plan to eat here again. (I'm guessing Miguel just needed training on how to enter an AARP number, just like I learned to do with my Alternate ID (cellphone number) when buying gas all over the USA.) This was a real downer and I was made to feel like I was "trying to get away with something" for a 15% discount. read more

The food was great and hot. The service on the other hand was not. The server introduced herself and was immediately pushing me to buy something that was extra. She didn't even let me state what I wanted to drink before she started. Every dingle thing I said, she asked if I wanted to add something onto it! It got really annoying and I told her to stop. Next during ordering, she asked my kids if they wanted cheese on their eggs without telling me it was nearly a dollar more for each add on. Once our food came out, we had so much time to eat that I even cleaned up my own table just waiting for her to come back so I could ask for my bill and leave. Got my bill eventually and had several extra charges that I wasn't even aware were extra charges, I was livid. We paid and left...they need to change the way they are doing business. We decided to check out Denny's tonight since they just opened last week. Normally, I'm not a big Denny's fan, but we wanted to give the new location a try and I'm glad we did. Walking in, it was really busy and there was a lot of workers rushing around. We thought for sure we would be waiting at least half an hour, but we were pleasantly surprised when they seated us right away. Right away we noticed how modern and clean everything was. It still has a Denny's feel, but it feels very updated and we liked the layout and the dining counter area. Our waitress was Rachel and she was wonderful. Super friendly and attentive. She was quick to refill and check on us, but was never overbearing. I ordered the club sandwich with regular fries and my husband ordered the appetizer sampler for his entree (tator tots, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and boneless wings). My husband said his onion rings were the best he had had in a long time. My club sandwich was pretty standard, but tasty and the fries were hot and fresh. My husband also had a chocolate milkshake that he said was good. Overall, it was your basic Denny's fare, nothing crazy special. We'll definitely be back though because of the awesome and very efficient service. read more

Had to ask for refills of coffee and water, which took a long time to get. And my free breakfast wasn't. They didn't remove it from my receipt at checkout. I was so excited to see that we were FINALLY getting a dennys close to our house.. Opening day we decided to order to-go and well Sophia took my order over the phone and I get it its your first day so you are shy etc couldn't give me order total till I could get there couldn't give me wait time she just average it.. I get there and I asked for a milkshake and she told me I was gonna have to wait for them to reprocess my order some manager steps in and explained to me I was only going to have to wait whatever time they would take making the milkshake so I decided to still take it. Sophia was just afraid of costumers. 2 time today and while I ordered my burger I asked if we could get it cooked MEDIUM RARE and they told me they only cook it 1 way whatever I still got it ordered some breakfast and well they didn't even know what type of sides i could get its just it feels they all need way more training and they need to be knowledgeable of the menu... I hadn't been to a Denny's in years, but my husband wanted pancakes and it was close to home. I was expecting slow service and mediocre food as always, but I was pleasantly surprised. Caroline was attentive and friendly, and I saw her being just as warm with other patrons. The food still took a little while to be prepared, but it was generously portioned, hot, and delicious. The strawberry dream cakes were fantastic, and I enjoyed the 9-grain pancakes, scrambled eggs, and hash browns. Very good, relaxing experience. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My family of 9 came in after my brother's graduation. My mom called ahead, they said they would be ready for us since the restaurant was basically empty. The restaurant was FREEZING. My uncle got the wrong size soup after waiting 45 minutes to get it, and then waited another 25 for the new one. We did not get our drinks for over 40 mins. Our waitress (high school aged) was incoherent, had poor communication skills, had absolute no sense of urgency, and when I communicated my frustration, all she said was "I'll ask the kitchen, and yeah". After being there for over 2.5 hours, my sister finally got her wings, which had half the amount that were supposed to be in there and no sauce. My sister stormed out of the Denny's crying with frustration and sat in the car. I myself, had reached my breaking point, so I got in the car with my sister and we left. In my 26 years of life & having previous serving experience, this was the most absolute horrible restaurant experience I've ever had or seen. None of my family members or I, will be visiting this Denny's again. I posted this on Google Reviews and the manager responded like she actually cared and was going to do something about it. She had me email her separately saying she was going to look into it & said "thanks for the feedback and sorry for the poor service"... No sincerity. And no response from her after I emailed back. I come here infrequently- it is the only breakfast place nearby. The food was decent, but the coffee was barely lukewarm and very weak, and the prices have gone up outrageously, especially given the fact that it's diner food, so I give Denny's only 3 stars. However, the service was fantastic, because of Michael! Michael has been with this restaurant since it opened several years ago. He often serves us when we visit. He has never failed to be professional, friendly and a great server. For the life of me, I don't know why he stays at Denny's rather than going to a higher end restaurant, but I am glad he is still there because his service is a high point of any visit. He far out-classes his employer. I asked for my bacon and hash browns to be extra crispy, and that is the way they were prepared, because Michael listened to me. (I have to say that I find that to be unusual- most of the time, servers don't seem to care.) While he was busy, an associate came to the table and asked if we needed anything. I asked if I could switch to hot tea (since the coffee was so lousy- but I never complained about the coffee), and she brought it over shortly thereafter. When Michael came back to the table to check on us, he noticed the tea right away and asked if he had made a mistake! Only Michael would have noticed! And, I was not charged extra for the tea! I give fantastic Michael 5 stars! read more

I had dinner here tonight and the service was absolutely horrible. My food was cold and I ordered chicken fried steak and the gravy looked like cottage cheese with all of its chunks( which was not chunks of sausage or bacon) We also ordered an ultimate omelet which was half the size it normally was and our waitress told us that the reason was because all the cooks cook different. She did not care that we were unhappy with our service or food at this point and the two other tables were experiencing the same issues we were. Overall the staff was very unpleasant and did not care if the customers were satisfied. They spent the night messing around or talking to each other more then doing their jobs. Do not recommend eating here. read more
