Visited Denny's last night about 8pm. We were a party of 4. One waitress serving 9 tables. The waitress was very polite but clearly overwhelmed. There were also 3 managers standing around, doing nothing to help. The service was very slow. The food was ready 10 minutes before it was delivered to the table. When it arrived, there were missing and incorrect items. Fortunately, we weren't in a hurry and patiently waited for issues to be corrected. The food was below Denny's standards. Like many other reviewers, we looked forward to Denny's opening in the area but over the three visits since opening, its gradually getting worse. We ordered from Denny's online on Friday 1/24/2020. We were told our order would be ready in 20 minutes. When my son went to pick up the order, they said the kitchen was backed up and it would be a bit of a wait. When the order was ready, my son wasn't notified and the food sat there for at least 20 minutes before he was given the order. By the time he got home, the food was cold, the milk shake and extra ranch dressing that we ordered and paid for was missing. I called the restaurant and got voice mail. I left a message and requested that I be called back but have not heard back from anyone. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this restaurant! read more

Denny's on Houghton and old vail SUCKS! This is the second time this has happened but this time we figured out why. To start off it took 12 minutes just for someone to ask us for drinks from a waiter that said this wasn't even his area. I think it took around 25 minutes to get our dinner. Table next to ours was never cleaned the whole time we were there. And you want to know why? Cause all the employees in the back were outside smoking weed (see pictures above) the cook went out there and took a hit couldn't handle it almost coughed up a lung. Found out when we left that the waiter that helped us was sitting in the van. Gotta love this fucked up place. It took forever to get our food and it take 2 hours to get my food and the service is bad and people where leaving the place without eat

My son and I are regulars there every Wednesday for the last couple months we've been coming it's usually the same people same manager blonde girl named Jen this last Wednesday we went on April 26th. It was extremely busy the manager said that she'd be right with us she came out of the back to talk to us and let us know that the kitchen was little backed up it would be a while before we receive food but we are more than welcome to stay and have a seat she would get some drinks for us and tell us over to get to us and get our order. Of course we agreed to stay since this is a ritual for my son and I. It wasn't that long of a wait food came out everything was going fine she was running around from the front to the back helping the cooks helping the waitresses and waiters in the front helping customers leave cashing them out also wiping tables down seating people and taking drink orders as needed. She managed to do all of this and kept everything calm and the restaurant just as the servers did in the front. When it started to calm down a little bit she was back in the kitchen somewhere and all of a sudden we heard a male voice saying next time stay the f*** off my line you're always in the way you never do anything I'm not f****** joking. I heard her couldn't see her she said you're not going to talk to me like that you can leave he said no I was sent here by someone I couldn't hear who so then I heard another male voice start talking and say there's no need for that you're not going to sit here and be disrespectful who do you think you are that's not how we talk to people especially women. A couple more minutes go by and what I'm assuming is the young man that was cussing at her storm out of the kitchen and left. A few moments after that I see her come out of the kitchen eyes are red she's looking down she heads for the bathroom. Don't see her again for a few moments then she comes out as if nothing happened starts checking on all the customers again cleaning some tables when she got to us I told her that I am deeply sorry that that just happened and if she was okay. She said she'll be fine she's a strong cookie we all kind of giggled. I did let her know at some point I stood up as I was hearing what was going on and I was going to actually go back there and figure out why anybody was talking to anybody like that it was unacceptable uncalled for and I don't appreciate hearing it in the lobby. I did over here conversation with the servers saying that she went back to thank them for doing a good job and calming the restaurant down getting the orders out and that's when he started yelling. I cannot confirm what was said because I honestly didn't hear what she was saying. All I do know is customers shouldn't have to apologize because they feel embarrassed for one of your staff members being harassed. Not only myself but other customers were talking after she went back at the kitchen and we all felt extremely bad for her and the people that were in the front including the servers. This is unacceptable behavior and I hope it is dealt with because if it's not myself my son or any colleagues or family I know will not be coming back to this location. And I hope that she is not treated like this again or anyone else on your staff for that matter again everything else was great except that moment. Also I would like to note that the young man came back with a young lady not too long after he was kicked out let coming in passing her laughing. He went straight to the other room where there's more chairs was only there about 5 minutes and then left again. Ridiculous is an understatement. Anyone reading this if you were there that night please call and complain about the situation if you overheard it again the manager's name is Jen I believe and she did not deserve this. Also to the gentleman that stood up for her in the back I would like to thank him. Didn't catch his name but when he did come out of the kitchen he's tall and has a tattoos from his neck down. read more

We have eaten at this restaurant before, so using double visits for this review. Food is ok, I mean it's a Dennys. However, tonight as we asked to get seated, the waitress drops the menu on the floor, and continues with same menu, placing it on our table we are going to eat on!! As we are sliding into the booth, I hear the table behind us saying they have been there over 45 min with no food. It was not busy. We have experienced excessive wait times before when going there. We got up and left there and then, so cannot rate the quality of the food this evening. But the quality of customer service speaks for itself. read more

We had a bigger party, they sat us a few minutes later with no one else in the restaurant. They told us it would be 30 min until we got out food which was fine. Ended up being almost 2 hours and all of our food was cold and underdone. They were also missing 3 of our plates. Server/manager was very quiet and couldn't handle a bigger party. read more

We were pleasantly surprised at our dining experience here. The new location is bright and clean and accommodating. Covid seating was not an issue and our server was excellent. Basic American food at a decent price. We'll probably be back. read more

Took the family tonight with realistic expectations knowing full well we were going to Denny's. This was hands down the best experience I have ever had at a Denny's. Every single thing we ordered was outstanding, & better than expected. They were busy but we had no wait and the service was good too. We will definitely be back. read more

This location was very clean and the staff was very attentive. We went on Tuesday night because kids eat free then and all of our food came out in a decent time and we all enjoyed our food. The waitress was able to answer any questions we had and if she didn't know, she went and found out for us. The managers were walking around and checking on everyone as well. read more

Let me start by saying I don't normally write reviews however the awful experience I had prompted me to write one. I don't expect a lot from Denny's. It's a basic diner. That being said yesterday we went for a late lunch at the Denny's on Houghton Rd in Vail/Tucson AZ. There were only 2 tables occupied in the whole restaurant. After being seated and looking at the menu for a few minutes we placed our order for a sandwich and and burger. No special requests or anything. 15 minutes goes by and the waitress said it will be a few more minutes. No problem another 10 minutes goes by and the waitress asks the cook what is taking so long. He looks confused. In the meantime while we are waiting a big to go order was done and waiting. The waitress comes over and says it will be 3 minutes if we want to wait so we do. I get my burger and cut it in half and it's RAW. I get the waitress attention and show her the burger is raw. She tells the cook who is arguing that it's not raw and the timing of the burger. The waitress brings over the manage who then defends the cook and doesn't seem to care about the burger being raw or it taking 25 minutes. The the waitress comes over and says the manager will be over. We wait as I watch the manager talking and joking with some woman and has yet to acknowledge me or my issue. She goes to the register and takes off the burger which she should have. Gave me an insincere apology and that was it. Didn't even comp my drink as a sorry. She must have been in a hurry because she left shortly after we did. I am so disgusted with the lack of customer service and it was obviously not a big deal for them. I will NEVER go back to this location because they are willing to give you food poisoning without a second thought! read more

Stopped in here on my way to through AZ , I hadn't meant to but some bad directions, horrible road work and the late hour made it time to get off the road and take a break . I went in and it was quiet so I was seated right away. The waitress was very nice and I didn't have to wait long for my food. Here's where it got interesting .. every now and then you come across something or someone who is a diamond in the rough. I mean it's Denny's , it's not supposed to be some high end place with great food like you find in places that's you have to take out a second mortgage to eat at. To me Denny's has always been quick, good enough and filling. The young man doing the cooking is that's DITR I was talking about. I like my steaks medium well. One thing I have learned eating out is that most chefs have no idea how to make a medium well steak. You have to cook it enough that the outer part is done and the middle is pink but then ( here's where 99.99 percent get it wrong ) you have to know your temperatures well enough that the pink center will slowly brown as the steak rests allowing the flavor to seep into the pink and so you end up with a steak that is done , flavorful and not tough and chewy but not raw either. Almost no one ever gets it right. The chef here looks very young but he is good! The steak was perfect. One of the best I've had in a long long time. The rice was a little dry but it was late so that's expected at the end of the night. Kind of funny, the wild rice was mixed w something and none of us knew what it was ( me or the waitstaff) so one of the ladies googled it. They put quinoa in their rice. Not something I would have thought of , or probably ordered if I knew in advance but also very good . Overall everything was good. My only complaint was it was freezing in there. I used to work across from a meat processing company, like the kind of place Rocky trained in, punching cow carcasses , and it was as cold as that place. My poor waitress was sniffling it was so cold. I would highly recommend you try this place before someone discovers the chef and whisks him off to Dallas or LA or gives him his own cooking show. read more

Food was extremely slow and not very good once we did get it. We didn't mind the wait but we were missing items and I noticed other tables complaining about the same problem. We had a really good waitress. There were others but they were just standing around talking. One lady turned out to be a new manager. I know this because she told someone she couldn't take their order because she had other things to do now that she was a manager. The only thing I seen her do was refill some sugar packets at a table and walk around and talk. Several Tables had to get up and get a to go box and go ask for their checks because their waitress disappeared for a long time. She came finally when we were getting ready to leave and couldn't remember what tables were hers. Everyone in her section had left. I won't be returning anytime soon and I live in the area. Went to Denny's this morning, got a BLT with the skinniest slice of tomato on the sandwich. Asked for extra tomato slices. Hmmm was told that I have to pay extra and since I like TOMATOES on my BLT I said yes. It may be the last time I visit this Denny's even though it is new and in the neighborhood. Very disappointed in this, slices of tomatoes will not break this restaurant. read more

I have been here several times the food was good...so it overshadow the terrible service. But today we went in there and every single cup every single silverware was just disgusting dirty . The coffee cups had old coffee from the previous person that drank out of it. The water cups had what could only be describe as old milkshake on it. The Quality of this place has went way down quickly. We did end up walking out. Also there was 2 other tables that walk out as well. It was also a 20 min wait for just drinks. It's Denny's, you cant have super high hopes to begin with, BUT this one is exceptionally bad. I've gone to this location 4 or 5 times & without fail, the customer service is not there & the food would taste good if it wasn't cold. The table next to us got their order taken right before us & got their food, ate & left before we even got ours. Somehow, we have gotten the same server 3 times & the first time I was giving her the benefit of the doubt considering everyone has bad days, but all 3 times I have had her as my server, it's been worse & worse. It took over 15 minutes for me to even get a box for my food. I also understand, that at times, places run out of food, but to tell us after 45 minutes of waiting for our food, that they are out of something is unacceptable. The food was fine but I ordered a coffee and it came out with lipstick on the rim of the cup. I asked for another one and let the waitress know that the cup had lipstick on it. She replaced the coffee and all was fine until we go up to pay only to realize after we left that she charged me for two coffees. We went here on a Sunday morning for breakfast and waited about 30 minutes to be seated. Completely understandable. Once we were seated, we waited well over 10 minutes to be greeted by our server. This is a problem because everyone else's server was greeting them and getting them drinks, while we just sat there and waited for our server simply to introduce herself. The place was freezing and despite complaints and requests by multiple tables, we were ignored. Tables that were sat about 25 minutes after us received their food before us. Even though I ordered a soda, I was unable to secure a refill because our server was so slow and inattentive. She just did not seem to care at all. We needed an additional fork for our food, and once we requested it from our server we had to wait and wait, until finally asking another server to get one for us. I do not understand why this young lady was ever offered a job as a server, as she clearly did not know what she was doing and could not handle the requisite speed necessary for the job. It does not delight me in saying, she was just horrible. Once our food did come out, it was just okay. All-in-all I would hold off on going until more of the kinks are worked out and until they have the trained staff to handle the business this location is bound to have. The high cost of the food is not justified by the service received and that is for sure. I would say, save the money and go somewhere the food is be better and the service will justify the additional cost, because even though we still left a 20% tip, it certainly was not deserved, earned, or worth it. read more
