For Fathers day we took my dad out to eat on Dennys on Akers and all i can say is that it was the best experience ever! The managers kept coming around checking up on us. I got to meet Jose and Jasmine they are very nice and we will definitely come back. Our server juile did an amazing job refilling our coffee. Drove all the way out here after calling ahead to see if they could accommodate a group of 10 and after being assured our table was being set up we sat around for 10 minutes only for them to inform us we would have to sit separately. The girl trying to explain to us why they couldn't push two tables together was very rude and told us we could look at the table and see for ourselves we couldn't fit everyone. As we continue to deal with the effects of the pandemic a lot of restaurants are short staffed and yet our experience was great! Came in for a late breakfast, 10:30ish, and the restaurant was full and it was clearly understaffed. That said, Julie our server was very attentive and thorough. She never seemed overwhelmed. If that were me I would've been pulling my hair out. The food was hot and perfectly prepared. All of the servers worked together which was great to see the teamwork. I didn't even make it to my food. I walked out. They brought us coffee and tea in disgustingly tainted cups. I show the server as I'm wiping a brown film off of my cup. So she brings us new drinks, with the same brown film. She tells me that this is what happens to coffee cups. Are you fn kidding me? I told you the cups were dirty the first time. Was it that hard to check the replacement cups and possibly use your HANDS to clean them? I drink coffee at home. I also use white cups and wash them myself. The stains and the lip marks always seem to come off when wash my dishes. We walked out and they apologized. Making a mistake one time is fine; but there's no excuse for doing the same stupid, negligent thing twice. Look, I like Denny's. I eat there all the time. Came here with a group of six or so, just ordered a side of mac and cheese and it took an extra 10 minutes for me to get it than everyone else. It was extremely tiny and tasted like sour cream. I came here with my wife after quite a long drive... it was pretty late, so there weren't many places open, but Denny's was of course. The food wasn't terrible... I got the chicken cordon bleu melt. It was pretty clear the chicken had been frozen and reheated, but the flavor was good enough, and for how big it was, it was a good value at $6 (including fries). I opted for the seasoned fries, which weren't bad, but could have used more seasoning. The server was great.. incredibly friendly and attentive. This Denny's certainly exceeded my expectations... Denny's can be very good to only fair, and this one ranks on the very good end of the spectrum. They have gotten my to-go orders right each time (something you'd expect but don't always get at places), the food was attractively plated (in to-go containers!), and it was very tasty. I've tried the same meal to-go at two other Denny's, and it was not nearly as good. I wrote the preceding review about a year ago (I hate that you can't submit a review without logging onto the Website). Had an amazing experiance with Yessenia A. She was quick to take our order and told us about superhero day on tuesdays and saturdays (kids eat free with one adult purchase) we never knew about this before, she refilled our drinks and checked on us often. She was very nice and accommodating we will be back to this location again because of the customer service alone. The food was also really good, and when we walked in this Denny's location was really clean, we got smothered cheese fries with extra cheese and we got what we ordered they weren't soggy, and I also asked for extra crispy hash downs and yessenia actually came by to make sure they were correctly made. I just picked up a $48.00 oder and it was not correct! One of the meals was the chicken fried steak which comes with gravy on it. There was NO GRAVY! That's a crucial item to miss. On the order placed, I had mashed potatoes with it and it asked if I wanted gravy on the potatoes and on that I said no because there would be gravy on the steak. I've been in town for three days and all three days I've eaten here and the food is Denny's food, but the staff is awesome. I'm sure the turnover in restaurants is high, but the night shift women checked on me at least six times in that "actually care how you're doing way" and not the "I'm at work at two am and not making any money bitter, lonely, depressed kind of way" which is, frankly, how I would be.
