While having at least 10 customers inside the building. I could still understand if it was late night but this was 6 pm on a regular day, also the waiter was rude and had an attitude didn't apologize nor try to tell me to come back later, and all the customers were eating so he wasn't in a rush. I have been coming to Denny's for 12 years or maybe closer to 10. I am 12. That is how much I love Denny's! The food is great! They have a wide menu so even if you don't like pancakes or something you can still walk away happy! Denny's is also not overpriced it is very reasonable. It's the best of both worlds get great food with cheap prices. The service is great, the food gets there quickly but I don't get the feeling that the food was rushed. Also the people there are so kind and caring. I really feel close to some of them!! The general manger Michell is so kind and nice Denny's feels so welcoming thanks to her and her employees! The vibe or the ambiance there is so great. It is the type of place that is chill and welcoming but not the type of chill were they don't care. SERVICE -First, my party of 3 was seated, they took our order, then we just sat there and watched everyone else that came in after us get their food. It wasn't even ridiculously crowded SCRAMBLED EGGES - They weren't scrambled but they were flat over-fried plain egg omelets.... They were overcooked and hard like rocks. SAUSAGE- Way Undercooked and almost tasted like they were just dropped in water like a flavorless boiled hotdog. BACON - Same as usual ....Flavorless paper thin Biscuits and Gravy - TERRIBLY AWFUL. Taste like microwaved hard Buisquik and they cut up a piece of sausage and put a spoon of white gravy over it ....WTH??? Had a great visit with my family! Was accommodated right away as I was dining with my 3 children and myself only. They first came in a little bit grumpy and the manager seated us and gave my girls some princess crowns which made them happy right away! Denny's is a feel-good place to go if you need some heavier breakfast foods. The Denny's in Westwood is spacious and the service is fast. There is free WiFi and you can stay at late hours of the night to study too, which is nice. I got the loaded veggie omelette with hash browns. The hash browns were soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, so they got the texture right, but they were pretty bland. The veggie omelette itself was delicious and LOADED with veggies, which I appreciated. The one thing was that it was just a bit soggy, but I think that was due to the zucchini leaking. The food is pretty decent, and we've tried a lot of the menu. If you want spicy and meaty foods, get the spicy skillet. You can't ever go wrong with pancakes though. Absolute most unprofessional location i have ever been to. The older male Hispanic server was ABSOLUTELY the most rude and unprofessional server ive ever encountered. He asked us to wait until he cleaned a table. Note there were two customers in the restaurant, mid day. All tables were dirty. He first went and picked up dished from every single table about 10 minutes. He then went and started wiping down every single table, completely ignoring me and my family. We wat he'd as he cleaned almost the entire restaurant and I finally asked after a long time, " excuse me, can we please get seated? There arw about 15 open tables" he so rudely looked up and said " I told you im cleaning first" by this time we had watched him clean for 15 minutes, mind you only 2 customers in the entire restaurant. He said " if you dont like it, you can leave" I couldn't believe what we had just experienced. We walked and and he decided to add " dont come back either, I dont need you to come here" This man clearly needs some manners. Absolutely unacceptable. Came through late on a Friday night with the homies after a dope sesh of volleyball ready to grub and kick it. Had a fairly large party of 8 of us and yet we were welcome immediately upon arrival and sat down at an area perfect to accommodate the size of our group in a really quick time. Our server was Emily who was super helpful. She immediately took our drink orders while we had to time to figure out our food. Don't, Just Don't: been in here twice. The first time it took a very long time just to order then after ordering it was like pulling teeth to get my first and only coffee refill. I wrote that off as it was one waitress working the whole floor alone so I tipped her fairly well on an $15 order. The second time it took literally 5 minutes tonight just for the lady to come out from behind the kitchen to seat me, which she did so by stating sit at any clean table. I only ordered a coffee this time at first because I wanted to see how it went, which wasn't well. I waited a half hour before having to get up and request a refill "when she got a moment." I waited another half hour prior to the cup being refilled. The cook and waitress were speaking in Spanish behind the counter thinking I could not understand: making smug remarks that I had only ordered a coffee and other rude comments. I tried to use my 20% coupon on my order for coffee: the waitress was making it so my 20% would not apply to my order. I made sure my account only had enough to charge me correctly including the 20% discount applied to my coffee. Once the waitress discovered she could not overcharge me for a $3.69 cup of coffee, she finally and suddenly was able to apply the offered discount. So don't...just don't. Life has enough stressors without that kind of rip off/rude behavior. read more

denny's is a basic chain diner, and it does what it does well. the westwood location is always busy so the service isn't always the fastest, but they do try and they aren't ignoring you on purpose. food is as expected for a denny's, so it's reliable and i find their breakfast is worth the $15 or so that you pay for it. i usually get the all-american slam, which is your basic one with scrambled eggs with cheddar, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and toast. the service and food here is no better or worse than any other denny's i have been to. three stars...which is to say "ok." as expected and i'd come back. read more
