We've been to Carol's a few times over the years and a few traits always stand out about this place - all homemade, charming location, kind, hardworking servers and great service. Had an amazing Sunday breakfast this morning. We took our boat over and used their complimentary guest docks while dining! The French toast was golden perfection made of Carol's home made bread and the eggs and bacon dish my husband has was the best bacon we've had in a while. Thicker crisp not too salty & tasty. Topped it off with a few good sized mimosas and a nap later in the boat felt needed! A few years back I visited while jogging on the trail nearby and my cell phone died and they graciously let me use their phone. I had the most amazing milkshake that trip I won't forget! The homemade pies look amazing as well and sticky buns.. will have to give them a try next trip. Highly recommend.

Great food. Serves breakfast all day. Friendly severers! Cook as you order so it takes a bit of time! But worth it.

Went twice for breakfast while in town. Had 2 eggs over easy with bacon and sourdough toast one day…read moreand waffle (regular, not Belgian) the next. Generous serving of bacon. Great service. My son had fresh muffins both days which were outstanding. Others in our party enjoyed their meals too. They wet so accommodating and friendly with repeated coffee refills. Would definitely go back.

We asked for a table outside because she can't hear well, and the cafe was bustling and loud. The staff seated us, but had to move tables around outside. The hostess and a "regular" of the cafe said things like "this is what we do in a tourist economy." "We have to accommodate the tourists." As if we were a bother and they were bending over backward to accommodate us. Because my mother in law was there, and she is emotionally raw right now, I avoided conflict. So I'll say now, what I wanted to say to those snarky, rude employees Thursday: My husband's family has had a plot in the Taylorsville cemetery for longer than those two ladies been alive -- combined. His grandmother had 2 restaurants in Greenville. His mother is a fixture in the community, living through the Dixie fire and coming back to rebuild her life. Now she'll bury her husband there. My sister and brother in law worked in public service in Quincy for decades. We aren't tourists. And even if we were, you were incredibly unwelcoming. You made a sad day worse. The food was fine.
