Q 2:19 I had an old bridge that needed replaced. Dr L Berger attempted to replace bridge 3 different times. He is very arrogant, rushed and talks down to me as if I don't know my own mouth. I'm 75 years old! I now have constant TMJ pain on the right side, my bite is so off it's hard to eat I'm either biting on my top lip or sides of cheeks. It hurts to chew on right side without pain however left side doesn't line up and pain is worse. To add to this I specifically ask him to make sure the bridge was same as prior bridge in size and length of teeth however I cannot smile anymore as bridge teeth are quite small lets my top lip hang with no curvature and tucks under teeth making look toothless. I had a great smile till this. I paid a lot of money up front cash just so this man can take away my smile! read more

Misinformation with my son.(18yrs old) He needed his 4 wisdom tooth pulled and they tried to make him change to the other extraction which would have been more money out of pocket. We set the appointment just for the 4 wisdom tooth to be pulled which is less money out of pocket. This is part of the reason WHY we left in the first place for our annually cleaning. They don't submit your cleanings to the insurance company. Pay attention! All lies and want clients to pay more out of pocket even when you have insurance. read more

My MiL needed a denture check. It has been a LOOOONG time. She was recommended to Dr Berger. The office staff was pleasant enough. No issues making the appointment, nor when we arrived. We already filled out the registration paperwork online ahead of time. Dr Berger was very nice, evaluated her dentures, and then verified her coverage to get new ones. They fit her for a new set, and sent us on our way. There were some issues with fit, but he was diligent and made sure everything was good. He had them remade. read more

I scheduled an appt. With DENTAL SPECIALTY GILBERT oral surgeon.. to have an abscessed tooth removed. Or at least I have them look at it and schedule an appt to have it removed. I arrived at the scheduled time. After paying $30 one way for a Lyft ride. And they stated that I have not scheduled an appointment. Though I have proof that I did because it emailed me the paperwork I needed to fill out before I went to my appointment. With paperwork in hand I showed them that yes I did schedule. The manager of this establishment the dental specialists Gilbert stated that I was incorrect called me a liar and told me I had to reschedule again. Now I'm out $60 to get there and to come home and they want me to turn around and reschedule. How do you know when you schedule with him if they even put it down on their books. Completely they did not mind I'm in pain now still in pain and when I called to reschedule she just hung up this would be the manager that they have at this establishment the oral surgery. Don't waste your time or gas by scheduling with these people. I'm in severe pain still and now I need to find somebody else who actually doesn't call me a liar when they schedule my appointment. Again I had proof that I scheduled the appointment for that day I brought it with me the paperwork you're supposed to fill out before your first appointment. The manager called me a liar I showed her the paperwork she didn't care I had to pay another $30 to come home was still the same abscess too. They kept me updated on what insurance wouldn't cover ea step of the way until it's now I can't afford keeping tooth & need to know my balance to see if it's enough for a tooth extraction!!!! So definitely do the research and see if this is the place for you. Anyway, I came here after having a terrible visit with Mountain Crest Dental, who said they could help me look into veneers or implants because my teeth ate. They ended up not helping me at all. So I came here and I am so happy I did. My first visit wasn't more than 3 weeks ago and I already have a smile I can't stop showing, and I don't even have the permanent teeth yet, just the temporaries. I had roots taken out that were left in by another dentist and a tooth that needed extraction. Having both sides of my mouth in pain, I was unable to eat anything more than yogurt and protein shakes for 2 weeks. Wouldn't suggest having both sides of your mouth done at the same time but at least I lost weight. I had to go back for more pain medication for that reason too. My issue with this dental office is that I was scheduled for a follow up appointment at 2:00 on a Friday. I'm in a wheelchair but as I rolled into the office, one of their staff members saw me so I expected to be checked in. One hour later, no one came to the front desk. I assumed that they were just busy but I saw the dentist talking to someone at the back of the office and assumed he would have seen me but I was completely ignored and at 3:00, I called me wife to see if she thought I should just leave. I did leave and she asked why I wasn't assisted and they said I didn't check in. Trying to put the blame on me basically for not having been seen. We arrived in the office today and were given a bill of 1300 for a procedure that should have been fully covered by insurance. The insurance denied it because they said it was orthodontic, which it wasn't. I'm not sure if it was just coded incorrectly, but the description we'd previously receive by office staff DID sound like orthodontic. When we met the doctor, he said, no, that's not what he was doing & confirmed it was just an extraction. Also when they first called us in we were told they were extracting 2 teeth, which was also incorrect. In the emergency we canceled and will have to reschedule when things are cleared up. I don't thong the pblm was the doctor, but miscommunication by the office staff to both the insurance and us about what was taking place. read more

Never thought I would do a 5 star review of a dentist. I have had decades of bad experiences with dentists, main thing I finally found out that novocain does not work for me. I was referred to Dr. Lillien by another dentist( not a good experience there), as I had a cracked molar and high blood pressure mainly due to fear of dentists. We discussed the problem and Dr. Lillien suggested sedation. Usually it is a real problem getting the IV in but Dr. Lillien hit it first time. Two teeth were surgically removed and when I woke up I felt a lot better than I thought I would. It has been 1 week and the healing is great. The office was great about getting me in quickly and taking care of my needs. So now there is one dentist that I am not totally freaked out by. Thank you read more

Dodged a bullet- didn't even get a procedure started The dentist attempted to stick the IV four times in my daughters hand after being told that she normally gets the pediatric needle and that she just needs to look away when she gets stuck. After attempt #4, she got light headed, told the dentist that she is light headed and needed to lie flat. The front desk staffer then told me (I was in the waiting area), that my daughter had a lot of anxiety and was getting ready to pass out. I asked if they were going to continue after it passed (sounds bad but the kid passes out with a blood draw so not our first rodeo) and they said no- the doctor is stating that my daughter needs the Anesthesiologist and that person doesn't deal with insurance so it's $800 out of pocket with the next available appointment being in 2 months. My daughter promptly walked out in her normal manner (no longer light headed) and we got in the car. I asked about high anxiety- she said no. She had told the nurse that she has had panic attacks and the nurse asked if she was going to have a panic attack during the appointment. My daughter explained "that's not how that works." She also confirmed that she explained what process works best for her with an IV before he started attempting the stick. Leaving, I feel like we dodged a bullet. This is to review the orthodontic practice. I have gone through 3 - orthodontists at this establishment and would not recommend a single one. My treatment was delayed, customer experience was poor, billing department was poor. Overall I am not a happy customer and transferred my services for braces to another treatment, which required removal of previous braces installation of new braces + 1 year longer treatment. I have already had the braces 1.5 years. I am seeking billing refund and have not heard back from the practice. Their regular dental facilities I have never had issue with, cleaning, general dentistry, but this experience really makes me question if the regular dentistry is operating well at all. read more

If you are looking for a dental practice that is the face of deceit and unprofessionalism, then this is your place. I was in for a cleaning, along with x-rays, six months ago, and both Dr. Berger and the hygienist assured me there was no decay present. Yesterday, upon returning for a six month checkup, a different hygienist pointed out that the previous x-rays did indeed indicate a cavity. Even though this cavity obviously needs to be filled, at the end of my cleaning, the scheduler handed me a one-inch piece of paper with a phone number for a "sister" practice where I would need to go to get the filling. I'm disgusted at the bold-faced lie that the dentist and hygienist voiced at my previous appointment, because even I, as a layperson, could see the dark spot on the x-ray when it was pointed out to me, and even more dismayed that there was no mention made that I was no longer welcome at their practice because my insurance is no longer accepted there, until after the appointment, on the way out the door. The office management is horrible . 1. It takes me almost 3 months to waiting for my billing to be clear and I'm still waiting . The office manager told me their billing staff r working from home and the only communication is through email with their internal staff and billing office . No phone calls available to the billing office . They charged upfront which I understand , but it gets more than 3 months to get a refund ? 2. They have anesthesia plan for me but they were not informing me usually the insurance doesn't cover. Plus I don't have medical conditions to necessarily need the anesthesia. They had some items that got denied by insurance company . The reason is the process is not necessary . Basically they just need you to pay that you don't really need .( I have read some former comment and found out that happens to some other patients ) 3.the only point that worth the star is the doctor is really nice and did a great job. 4. Would give negative stars if possible. My one and only time set foot in the place was 2/3/2022 for a consult for a simple procedure. Place was odd for a dental office - more of a volume shop to maximize patient counts versus real focus on the patient. Office staff was rude and cold from the start, and I considered leaving after I walked in, but decided to stay since I was already there. Was in the chair for 4 minutes for a quick look, provider was rushed, and I was quickly sent to see the "finance person" to learn what they were proposing along with the all important price I'd be paying them. She told me it would cost me over $3k out of pocket and they insisted I had to be put under general anesthesia, which didn't take insurance. They refused to discuss any other options and were argumentative when I attempted to discuss my concerns. BIG red flags. I got up and walked out. They had all the info they needed to run insurance and/or bill me for whatever was necessary for the failed consultation. Never heard from them again. A few weeks later, had the procedure done at a much better facility, under local anesthetic, far faster, and for far less money. Turns out, the original provider at this location didn't diagnose the issue correctly anyway. Fast forward a YEAR AND A HALF LATER, I received a bill from this place. I never in a million years thought it would be related to the failed consult which was in the history books, and I thought it was for my wife's recent dental work, so it was paid. When I realized my wife doesn't go to this provider, I started calling them for a refund of the payment. Left messages. Sent emails. No returned calls. No returned emails. No returned texts. Radio silence from this place after over a week of trying to contact them. Basically, once they get their money, there is no incentive to return phone calls. I finally called the scheduling person, who put me in touch with the office manager on the phone, who told me the charge was for the Feb 2022 visit. I asked if she knew it was July 2023... She refused to listen, was argumentative, and maintained the charge was for the consultation from a year and a half ago, and due to some "billing issues they had", they're just getting around to billing me for it now. The same rude "tough luck you owe us" attitude I received before. Beware of this place. Deceptive. Untimely billing. Unprofessional. Callous. Will not return calls or messages. Caveat Emptor. I went there with a $19 Groupon ( a dead giveaway that I don't have a lot of money and no insurance). They did the exam and xrays but not the cleaning that was part of the deal, instead recommending a deep cleaning for $800+. In the end, they recommended a treatment plan for over $17,000(!). I decided to get a second opinion and went to another dentist. This treatment plan recommendation - $1450. Dental Specialty Associates might be able to give me a million dollar smile. My son was waiting on an insurance approval for a good 2 months, after calling them numerous of times someone was JUST able to answer my questions TODAY. I expressed my concern for having to play phone tag with them, Tracy the person who answered the phone was VERY rude to me and would not allow me to express exactly what was going on. The back office person who tended to my son was nice, BUT the front office (Tracy) is VERY unprofessional! HUGE disconnect with patient! If you call them don't expect a call back anytime soon.
