I went to Dentologie 9 months ago, the first visit seemed fine. The second one the hygienist did my cleaning in 20 minutes and it physically hurt. On top of that, when trying to schedule a filling, Anthony gave me 3 different quotes at 3 different prices and could never land on a firm number. I tried to schedule the appoint and they never got back to me. Then this week they message me saying that my cleanings were not covered by insurance. I've asked for documentation for a week and they again have left me on read. Terrible experience would not recommend. read more

This dentist office's kept stalking my phone line all summer , after a 500$ teeth cleaning . I said il call back to schedule another appointment for one crown , then she said I needed two crowns. I said il call for an appointment. They literally went in and set they're own appointment for me several times !!!! I was so confused by all these calls & texts . She just stole from my bank 300$ ! I tried calling them and they all refused to answer me , give me any explanations. This is such a horrid experience, because the the whole summer they were going crazy just trying to get more $$$ from me hard . Btw , I pay out of pocket too . I had gone to Dentologie needing a new crown and implant. Each visit it felt like something had gone wrong. Assistants weren't properly prepared or set up for visits, equipment wasn't working so I had to switch rooms mid procedure, scans weren't done properly, so I showed up expecting a crown that wasn't ready. I ended up paying about twice my initial quote and after reviewing x-rays with a different dentist we can see significant bone loss of the implant site. Love this place! I have been to a few different dentologie locations and this one is for sure my favorite. The cute little bags we received at the end with toothbrushes are so nice. My dental hygienist realized I used an electric toothbrush and got me a sample from the back to add to my bag and replace the brush head. It was a kind gesture! The hygienist and staff were very kind. My teeth feel great and the x rays were actually very easy no pain -- in the past this has been painful for me but I think that's because of the dentist. read more

1 star because the staff was indeed friendly and I got to watch tv during my visit but also I wish I had never been entranced by Dentologie's unfortunately charming marketing. I went here August 2023 for an initial visit, they told me they found a few cavities and would fill them in a second visit. When I come in for the second visit a few weeks later, the hygienist tells me I'm getting a crown on one cavity instead of a filling. I ask why and they say it's more effective, I didn't question it but the only issue with my crown is that it's too smooth to fit into the grooves on the tooth above it. The actual issue is the filling I got. My top two teeth had a cavity between them and the dentist fills it. At the end of the service, they floss your teeth to make sure everything is ok I guess and the floss is getting caught between where this new filling is. She tells me that I should floss at this particular angle and I ask if the teeth are fused together and she says no. Newsflash: they were. If my appointment hadn't been so long I might have had the sense to push back on her but I trusted that they're the experts. Now, here I am almost a year later and my fillings seemed to have just fallen off, revealing that one tooth is cracked under where the filling was. Although I didn't see a crack before I went for my initial check up, I can't 100% blame Dentologie for "cracking my tooth." However, I think the poor dental work surely contributed to it. The practice is beautiful and modern and the dentist and staff were very nice. DO NOT LET THIS FOOL YOU. I was told I had 11 cavities and needed a crown on a previous filling. I am 22 years old and fresh out of college, I could not afford this. This did not sit right with me. I went and got a second opinion. The new dentist took X-Rays of my teeth for free because she said Dentologie's was unreadable. My new dentist told me I only had 2 cavities that needed a fill and absolutely DID NOT NEED A CROWN. Stay away from this practice. It is a large corporate dental office where the dentists only care about making their quota so they can receive their full salary. This practice acts unethically towards their patients. I recommend going to a small, non-corporate practice. read more

BEWARE! This place is a joke. I've gone 3x and had poor service each time. 1x I was conned into a deep cleaning (2 sessions) and was told that i would only be charged $25 per my insurance. The actual bill was around $200. I was also asked that I come back within 2 months after my last session, but I wasn't able to get in for an appt. until 5 months after the appt. I just had my 3rd appt. last week and they talked me into purchasing a flouride treatment (my fault, I agreed) for $25. When I checked out, the total cost for my visit was $75. They told me that I was being charged for a deep perio cleaning - not the regular cleaning. I said I had never heard of that and have had the same insurance for 10+ years. The receptionist just looked at me with a glazed eyes. The actual dentist maybe saw me for 10 seconds at the most and had a terrible bedside manner. Dentist last name started with H. There are so many other dentists in the chicagoland area, who won't gouge you, or mislead you for treatments you don't need. this place is horrible. read more

We just moved here in August and as soon as I knew dentists were open again I made appointments for cleanings. I have a huge fear of dentists and although I have kept up on my 6 months cleanings during a non covid world, I have avoided getting two teeth I have known need crowns for the last 4 years. I have coddled these teeth as a way to keep them as "safe" as possible even though my former dentist would lecture me every 6 months about them. I'm just absolutely terrified of any kind of dental work. Dr. Arabia finally managed to convince me to crown these two teeth a few weeks ago and although it was not a walk in the park, I am so glad I finally did it. My new crowns fit perfectly and I no longer have to worry about chewing on my left side. She is a saint and spent 20 minutes walking me through how the procedure would go and what to expect at each step the day we discussed scheduling. The day of for both dates the procedure took place I was reassured and comforted by the entire staff. They all were aware I was nervous and took extra good care off me. This means so much as most places are just out for your money. I highly recommend Dr. Arabia and her office. If I can do it, you can too! I'd also like to thank Cassandra, their Office Manager, because she is truly wonderful and even checked up on me to see how I was doing post treatment. read more

TL;DR: This place only cares about profits and they will unnecessarily destroy your teeth to hit their numbers. Let me start by saying that I really wanted to like this place. The offices are so modern/cool, the dentists, hygienists, and staff are super nice, and they give you nice goody bags when you leave. I went back 3 times so I really tried to give them a chance. Now for the bad: Visit 1: I went in for a cleaning after moving to Chicago and the dentist told me I would need several fillings and a crown. I was a bit suspicious because, during my cleaning and X-rays, I heard the dentists around me tell patient after patient that they needed crowns . I have 1 crown, I know they're much more expensive (profitable) than fillings and also a much more serious treatment option. So when I left I asked them to email me my X-rays and sent them to a family friend who is a dentist and she immediately called me and said "absolutely not" to the crown (which was on a tooth that would have been visible when I smiled). She said that what the Dentologie dentist thought was a new cavity forming under a filling was likely some excess adhesive and sent me X-rays of the same tooth 5 years ago to show that the spot hadn't grown. I shared this with my Dentologie dentist and we agreed we would just observe the spot over the next few months and that I would come in for my appointment to fix my other cavities in the next few weeks. Visit 2: I go in, she fixes some cavities. I was a little hesitant because I didn't have any pain or sensitivity, and she put in two fillings between my two front teeth, but I figured what the hell. She's the dentist, she knows best. Visit 3: I go back for a cleaning, everything is normal. The dentist comes in at the end (different from my first dentist who was out that day) and she again starts pressuring me, telling me that I NEED a crown. After some back and forth trying to explain to her that we had all decided I didn't need a crown, she kind of just goes "ok, then" and leaves. Flash forward to this week, I went to another dentist for a cleaning, showed him my X-rays from Dentologie, and asked him "looking at these X-rays, would you have put fillings on these two front teeth?" As I suspected, his response was "no, I personally don't think those fillings were necessary at all". (He also did not mention anything about needing a crown after taking a new set of X-rays). All of this to say, despite their nice office and charming staff, it seems that all Dentologie cares about is profit. It is my impression that most dentists are fairly conservative with regard to care (as they should be). They will put in fillings if you have actual cavities and will recommend crowns when tooth decay has reached the nerve or when a significant amount of the tooth is missing and it is at risk of breaking - it is very much a last attempt to save your tooth. They are aware that filings and crowns do not last forever so they hold off until absolutely necessary. Dentologie on the other hand, seems to be very aggressive with treatments and solely focused on profits. If you have a pre-cavity that other dentists would say "let's watch it, but it could be years before it actually needs a filling", Dentologie would do a filling on the spot. With regard to all of the crowns they recommend, I have no explanation except that crowns cost 10x more than fillings so they try to do as many as possible. To sum up, you only have 1 set of teeth, please don't let this place ruin them with unnecessary dental procedures. If you need a cleaning and you live close by, fine. But if they tell you that you need any fillings or crowns, PLEASE get a second opinion because if my experience is any indicator, you probably don't. read more

BEWARE! I never post reviews but felt compelled to do so after my HORRIBLE, PAINFUL AND EXPENSIVE experience with Dentologie. I have had healthy teeth for decades, during the pandemic I decided to get my routine cleanings closer to home where I was working remote. At one visit the dentist recommended replacing a filling which I had done was I was 9. This tooth never gave me any problems; however, following their advice I went ahead with the recommended procedure. The dentist who replaced the filling did a horrible job, I was in serious pain. I went back to the office and they determined I had to get a root canal to fix the error. The root canal was also done poorly. After three visits to "fix" the problem they created, I sought help from an endodontist to correct Dentologie's shoddy work. That endodontist confirmed via x-ray and exam that Dentologie did a lousy job. Three months later, and a HUGE sum of money spent, I am still dealing with the work Dentologie did to my perfectly healthy teeth. The only acknowledgement was a refund of a few hundred dollars for the root canal. They are not top professionals. Do not waste your time or money on this place. Several friends and neighbors have had similar, however less severe experiences. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE AESTHETICS. THEY ARE JUST AWFUL! read more

Awful experience with Dr. Hassan and Dentologie in general. I had a root canal that took 10 separate appointments over the course of about 10 months because the dentist said it was "difficult". I had to return three times because the permanent crown did not stay on. The root canal failed and I needed a re treatment anyway from an outside location that had no difficulties retreating. When I came for a cleaning, they forgot to actually do the cleaning and I had to remind them. I was told I would be refunded for my failed root canal and I had to call 4 times to get a refund sent that I still have not received. read more

After searching all over Yelp, and cross-referencing against dental plan coverage, I came across Dentologie (& their amusing technology video on website). I wanted a true professional w/ a personal touch, but most importantly to ween me back into a healthy dental regimen with as little discomfort as possible. From front desk staff, to the dental assistant, and especially the Dentist herself, everybody was extremely friendly, explicitly informative, and just generally happy to provide the best care possible. Being the big baby I am, the took special care to ensure I was fully aware of my situation, all paths of procedure available, and what would be happening at each step in the process. To walk into a dentist office, after so many years, undergo a molar extraction, and walk out as positive as I am, is incredible. It (almost) makes me excited to get back in there to resolve a few more smaller issues & develop a better long-term care solution. Highly recommend giving them a shot! read more

So I have never had problems with my teeth. In fact I frequently get compliments on them, because I had braces as a kid and consistently went to the dentist, and have always been pretty good about brushing, flossing, et cetera. I *rarely* had cavities (like, less than 5 in 20 years). When I went to college I became less frequent with dental visits but finally decided to give this location of Dentologie a go in 2022 since it's near where I live. It had probably been one and a half or two years since I had a dental visit, but I am not sure exactly. I will say, it's a friendly atmosphere. However, upon my visit I was told that I needed seven fillings, would need crowns sooner rather than later, and needed a mouth guard. This was surprising but I trusted the dentist and got all of that done (not the crowns tho) and it was definitely expensive, but my insurance covered some of it. I was left feeling a little unsure about the amount of fillings I had and the idea of needing crowns. Fast forward to now (2024) I knew I needed to get back to the dentist. I wanted to get a second opinion, though, so decided to book an appointment at a different local dentist. At that appointment, I was met with confusion when I explained the previous fillings and the idea of needing crowns. Thank god. This new dentist was not able to say with certainty whether I needed all of those fillings, but she did say it was surprising and that at least a couple of the fillings looked weird and needed to be fixed. And that my teeth looked great otherwise. I don't want to throw blame at the Dentologie dentists necessarily, as I am not sure if the filling fixes I need now are my previous dentist's fault. But I am disappointed by the idea that had I not gotten another opinion I might have been pressured into more fillings or crowns (and fillings should ideally last for several years). Also, this location does have lots of great reviews, so my experience may not be the norm. But my experience was not "bad service" (again, everyone working there was very nice) and instead was possibly inaccurate in both diagnosis and cost. I'm also in my early twenties, so the idea of crowns is even more confusing. And finally, they are really expensive, so I am glad to avoid getting them, and to avoid unnecessary fillings. read more

I've been a patient at Dentologie's South Loop location and now, Bucktown for the past five years. I've had nothing but amazing experiences with the staff and dentists at both locations, top notch. During my last visit I unfortunately, my experience with one of the dental technicians, Samantha, made me feel quite uncomfortable. When she had asked about vaccination status, I was upfront about stating that I am not vaccinated. She followed up by asking me several questions (have I been to any large parties or surrounded myself with others showing any symptoms). My answer was no. After I sat down in my chair, she was very short with me and then said that she assumed that I get tested regularly. This to me felt intrusive and not standard, as I shouldn't have to further reveal what medical procedures I have or have not had done. She followed by quickly using a topical agent for only a few minutes prior to receiving novocaine. I had a feeling that it wasn't left in long enough so when my dentist came in (who was a complete professional), to administer the novocaine, it was quite painful. Samantha was unprofessional, minimal to no conversation to help put me at ease, rude and not to mention, I was in more pain than usual after my crown was put and my novocaine wore off since she was very aggressive in trying to remove my temporary crown. I'm saddened that this may have been my last visit to Dentologie. No one should feel uncomfortable after staying their vaccine status. read more

I loved the modern, clean style, the surround sound music and cheerful plants around the office. When I got into the room I was in for my appointment I saw there were two TVs, one on the wall and one on the ceiling.. always kept me occupied. As lovely as the office is, the staff is even better! I was greeted with a friendly welcome and didn't even have to wait one minute to get started. Dr. Arabia is absolutely delightful! Convenient location in Bucktown. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist. Interior design was pleasant and relaxing. Music being played was jazz which had a relaxing effect before the appointment. Treatment areas have TVs on the walls and ceilings to help keep one's mind occupied during treatment as well as the aforementioned music. Also all the dental equipment is current up to date technology. Dr. Arabia and her assistant were relaxed and friendly. They thoroughly explained what they were going to do during my checkup. After the checkup Dr. Arabia took the time to explain in detail what she suggested should be done in follow up visits. As I left the receptionist already had a cost estimate for me for the next procedure and what my dental insurance would cover. I will also mention that I came back for a root canal. All my friends gave me the look of "God help you" when I told them I was going to have a root canal. Dr. Arabia performed the root canal and I cannot say enough good things about how well it went. There was no pain associated with the procedure. I was told in detail how the procedure would be performed and the actual procedure probably took barely an hour. Visited this new location today for a cleaning with Jenna and Dr. Arabia. The office is new, trendy, and extremely clean. The staff is very welcoming and even offers guests coffee when they arrive. Jenna did an excellent and very thorough job cleaning my teeth. She is very friendly and answered all my questions and concerns. Dr. Arabia is definitely the best dentist I've ever seen.
