I called dependable maytag recommended by a friend. Boy i made the right choice. The receptionist scheduled me between 10 and 12, at 10:05 the repairman showed up at my door , introduces himself and wipes his feet upon entering my house (impressed me) i showed him my dryer that was not heating properly, instantly he looked in the back of the dryer and said..your vent is kinked, promptly straightened it and it worked .charged me $49.95 ..THATS IT i asked??? How can you guys survive like that i asked? Politely answered..we are here to make an living not get rich. I called this morning around 11:30ish, and received a call-back within minutes. I scheduled an appointment between "now & 1:30," & my technician arrived at noon (I received a call first letting me know that he was on the way). John quickly diagnosed the problem, and then confirmed that my washer was a goner (bearings in the back). It would cost more to fix than a new washer. I really appreciated his honesty and forthrightness. John was extremely helpful, and even gave me some ideas for a replacement, which is beyond the call of duty. The area available for the washer is limited, so I was concerned I wouldn't be able to find a replacement, so his advice really 'lightened the load'. If you call Dependable, you will be in good hands! I highly recommend!!! Thank goodness there is still a trustworthy company with top notch professionals here in Los Angeles. No need to call anyone else (and the other reviews for other companies were downright scary!) I am very grateful to have selected the right company for my repairs, and would never call anyone else now that I found them. read more

When I purchased my washing machine from this company it was called DEPENDABLE MAYTAG Sales and Service (the same address.) But whatever they are calling themselves their service is lousy. After my barely three years old washing machine developed a slow leak I shut down the exterior water source. One week later when I went to use my machine I found three wet trails of water coming from the bottom of the washing machine leading outwards. When I opened the lid the inside of the washing tub was filled to the rim with water. I manually emptied the tub out. I called up this company around 11 in the morning. An answering machine picks up the phone. As a I am in the process of leaving a message a SECOND answering machine interrupts me. So I keep my fingers crossed in hopes that 1) my message was received and 2) that I would receive a call back within a few hours. BOY, was I being an optimist. The next morning around 7:50 (yes, 7:50 A.M.) I receive a call from a woman asking if I still wanted someone from DEPENDABLE MAYTAG SALES and SERVICE to check out my machine. Apparently an employee checks their incoming calls to the (310) 470-2100 telephone line once a day and apparently its first thing in the morning. I indicated to the female employee that yes I still needed a repairman to look at my machine. She says to expect a repairman to show up between the hours of 9-11 a.m. Around 8:15 a.m. I receive another call, this time it's the repairman saying that he's in the neighborhood and he'll be right over. A few minutes later he shows up. After I explain to the repairman about the leak and that the exterior water source was shut off then begins his dog and pony show with the washing machine. By that I mean he flips the water level nob back and forth and then pulls and pushes in the nob to activate the agitator. After the agitator begins agitating back and forth with no water in the tub he exclaims in horror that my washing is broken because the agitator is not suppose to move with no water in it. After he pushes and pulls the on control nobs again he then declares that there is nothing wrong with the washing machine and that the leak was probably just a weird occurrence . He then looks at the Maytag label on the machine and then proceeds to tell me that my Maytag washing machine is actually made by Whirlpool. According to him Maytag bought the Amana Corporation over ten years ago and then the Whirlpool Corporation bought out Maytag. He then says that possibly the water valve in the washing machine may need to be replaced but the part would cost $100 dollars. And that he didn't want to order the part because he wasn't sure if it was the water valve causing the problem. Instead he charges me forty dollars for the service fee and then writes down his personal cell phone number and says the next time the leak occurs don't call up the store instead call him up and he'll swing by to take a look at it. I wrote a check for the forty bucks and thanked him. If the machine leaks again I will start looking for a new washing machine. However the new one will not be a Maytag, Amana or Whirlpool or whatever else they are calling themselves these days. I do not recommend this store nor their "repair service". read more

I have a 24 year old Maytag washer that had been very reliable, but it finally went bad. I'm glad I decided to fix it instead of getting a replacement. The service man showed up on time, made an assessment of the problems, and had the parts with him. The rates seemed reasonable to me, but I didn't do any comparisons. If the dryer goes out, I'll be calling them back. I couldn't rate them higher because I didn't really have anything extraordinary going on. read more

We purchased a Maytag dishwasher from this store 1 yr back and purchased the warranty for 4 yrs. After 1 yr of service the dishwasher panel started malfunctioning and since we had the extended warranty, we called the store. Then starts the real drama and this made me to write this review to help other buyers. After a few days of calls and follow up calls finally they provide a name of the person who would come to our house to see the machine. It seemed that they have a contract with only one person called Danny and this person practically works at his own wish. He doesn't have any flexibility towards his time schedule and store is really helpless in this matter. Anyway now since we got that persons contact so we try to reach him directly and he is REALLY REALLY hard to reach. After 2 weeks, he responds to the call and after describing the problem says he would order a new panel for us and come to fix it. Another 2 weeks passed and still no call back, so we follow up again. As usual it was not easy to reach him & finally he calls back saying that he would come certain day at a certain time. Since he doesn't work on evenings or weekends(which many contractors do) I had to take a day off to meet him. He gave a timing which he didn't meet and after trying to reach him, he was unapologetic for his delay or not being able to meet the time. We had purchased warranty for other appliances or furniture in past but never had such a bitter experience. I have no idea why the store is having such an unprofessional contractor who is spoiling the store name and creating a bunch of unsatisfied customers. I would never recommend anyone to buy anything from this store, due to this terrible after sale treatment. read more

This morning the technician arrived early. I was very pleased, that is so rare. I have a problem with my fridge hose and my washer mashing who have been leaking. Both are next to each other in a my built in kitchen cabinet, so it makes it tricky to move around and fix. My washing machine unit had been disconnected and moved away as we had to change the floor due to the damaged caused my the leak. The technician said that he does not work if the machine is not in place and plugged. It's ok as I told him that he also had to fix a part for my refrigerator. I moved the fridge with my husband for him to go in the back. He said that he would have to come back and order the piece. In the mean time I had move the washing washer in place. I asked the technician to help me plug it. But he had a problem with the that. He said he usually does not have to do that. I was quite confused. I asked him, but I thought you repair washer machines? That's not the whole point of pulling and going on the back of the unit. He said, I only fix them. He kept complaining. After his constant complaints, even as he was not the one moving the appliances. I had to let him go. I said that If he did not want to do the job that he could go and i would pay for his time. He refused the money as he had not done anything really and left. This guy did not want to move a finger to get the job done. read more

TERRIBLE!! THEY DO NOT HONOR GUARANTEES ON THEIR WORK. They're really nice the first time - not so nice when something goes wrong. John came out to look at my dryer because it smelled of burning. They charged me $139. The burning smell continued and two weeks later was getting steadily worse. I made an appointment for John to come out again between 8 - 10 and stayed home from work to wait for him. He called at 9 and told me he wasn't coming because he had to go to the airport on personal business. And furthermore, he told me I was waiting for nothing because he had no intention of coming back at any time - even though the company had made an appointment. When I told him the burning smell was worse, he started coming up with a lot of excuses - the venting, metal fatigue, all sorts of lame stuff he hadn't mentioned when he had charged me the first time. Finally he told me that my dryer is old and even though I had paid $139 and there was a company guarantee on the work, they were not coming back. Period. Basically, they had their money, and they weren't coming back for free. Find a different company. read more
