Slow is right on and the work is sloppy as well. I have had my Tacoma in there and it took two trips and much waiting around to get two sets of lights wired-up, and in the end only one set worked for more than the drive home. Steve seems to mean well, but is just way too into standing around talking and I can never get the guy on the phone - always his mother running interference for him and he never calls back. I am over it done and done. Oh, and he is over priced to boot. Since taking my truck there I have had to have every single thing Steve did to it re-done. This was a HUGE waste of money. Took my truck in for a new bumper, alignment etc over 6k in work! Tired rub alignment is off new $800 tie rods have a broken boot, new bumper has loose bolts and on and on and onnnnnn....oh and he wants to sell me new bump stops after I bought new tortion keys. 2007 Chevy duramax what a joke lol.... I went in to get spacers installed for my wheels. First of all, they didn't even order the parts when I went in the first day. I had to wait another 4 days. They finally get the spacers and quote me 240 with installation. Midway during the job Steve shows me that there are some bolts that need to be cut and needed my ok. He never mentioned anything about charging me more. They did the job and when I was gonna pay he said he charged me 80 dollars more to cut the bolts. That's ridiculous. If I would have known I would have never done anything to my truck there. He just wants to take as much money he can from you. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

I really like Dependable off road. Steve is a great guy with a lot of integrity. I have been coming here for years and plan on continuing. I read reviews of some of the other people here and I know the types... People who do not understand how much actual work goes into perfection... "I want it yesterday, and CHEAP"...the off road addiction is neither. Yes, in all honesty stuff can take a little longer then normal around this place. BUT they treat each customer (new or old) like old friends. Sure they like to stand around and shoot the S%&t a little bit, but that's better then just feeling like a "Number" on the production line of a company making money. I like the personalized service. When I am on a tight schedule, I let them know up front. Call and check on things every now and then and I have never been let down. Seem like nice enough people and I can't comment on the quality of work due to only really buying parts but the customer service is horrible when it comes to getting calls back . I like to deal with local shops more then larger shops but I wouldn't waste my time trying to chase them down to give them business . read more

Late September 2012 after getting in an accident on the freeway I dropped off my tacoma at dependable offroad to have a one piece installed and a tie rod replaced. Steve seemed extremely nice and enthusiastic about taking on the project. Now i understand fiberglass is not easy to work with, but what I got back from dependable was a hackjob. I didnt expect the one piece to line up perfectly but Steve assured me he was going to slice up the engine bay and build a subframe to accommodate the one piece clip. Also he promised me the clip would come with louvers but no louvers were installed on my hood. his excuse was "Fiberwerx didnt feel like putting them on". The clip was bolted onto the stock locations and requires me to unscrew a few nuts and bolts before actually unlatching and removing the clip. Even before all this it took them 4 months to get my truck back. I never called more than twice a week just to check in on the progress and it was always the same story "ill call you back". But never got a call back. 4 months later i walked in and picked up my truck, I couldnt handle being a pedestrian anymore. a few weeks after i pick it up while on the freeway i feel a loud rattling on the drivers side tire so i pulled over. 2 of the studs had broken off, after they installed my tie rod no one seemed to have torqued down the lugs correctly. Now ive been trying to get ahold of them because steve had also said he was going to have my one piece painted but not i need to cough up 400 more dollars on top of the 500 left in our budget. I dont believe it costs 900 to paint a hood flat black. I gave up on the idea of having my hood painted and simply asked him if he could order me some louvers for the hood and the bedsides which only run around 200 for all of them combined, and if i can pick up my old hood and fenders from them and no response. Call after call, email after email, i feel swindled and robbed for a crappy job. I cant even call if a "Fabrication job" because my fucking hood is held on with what looks to be brake line extenders. Does anyone have any advice on what i should do? Steve is a nice guy, its hard to be upset but this is ridiculous. read more

Steve and his crew worked diligently to get my new steering box installed and aligned so I could drive my truck on vacation. In the process he found that I had a wheel bearing that was going out and knowing I was going on vacation, he immediately notified me and said that he could take care of it and still have the truck ready by the time promised! Not so dependable. DO NOT let them work on your Jeep or any other car for that matter. They claim to know about jeeps but know nothing. They put my husband in jeopardy by installing the heim joints backwards when installing an upper and lower control arms. (goodyear and Rebel off road confirmed this!!) nearly killed my husband as his jeep locked up on him on the freeway!! After we went there today to get it fixed all they had to say was "oh we didn't do that and we knew it was backwards when we worked on it" are you kidding me? This was the owner too, Steve that said this. Even IF that were the case which I very much doubt! Why not tell us then? To top it off they supposedly saw this and still attempted the alignment. They are just money hungry..not good quality. Very sketchy and now after seeing their reviews I understand why...you get what you pay for. They are not knowledgeable, they don't know what they are talking about... at all. Stay far far away. Go to rebel off road for anything related to jeeps especially. read more

I had the roof rack installed on my van and I thought the the cost of the roof racks were very reasonable. The roof racks are fabricated by a local supplier so dependable off road does not have properly fitting brackets to hold the roof rack on the cross bars. They over charge you for the brackets and the installation. read more

Steve ordered a bumper for me and when it came in, I took my truck in. He said it should take a week to get everything coated and wired because I had some other small things done. 3 WEEKS LATER I stop by while his mom is there and my truck is in the back and has not been touched! Bumper just wrapped in a moving blanket on the ground! Needless I say I went somewhere else (outlaw offroad) and they got it done in 6 days! DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to waste time. I am confused by the negative reviews and feel compelled to share my experience. The business was referred to me by another satisfied customer. I own a dodge HD and recently was hit with the "death wobble" I called a handful of other repair places and being my truck is my only form of transportation I needed to get it fixed ASAP. All the other repair places that deal with this issue are a couple weeks out regarding an initial inspection appointment. As soon as I talked to Steve he gave me a few issues that I may be having and understood the situation that I was involved in. He told me to bring the car in the next day and he was able to diagnose it quickly. He obviously has many years under trucks and off road but also time behind the wheel. He was able to have all the parts for me the following day and had everything installed and aligned. His crew is also very helpful and friendly. He even took the time to show em exactly what the problem was on my vehicle and did not pressure me into doing anything. I will definitely be returning and glad that I found a true "blue collar" Off Road shop to service this vehicle and any other trucks in my future... I can understand others have had issues but for your own sake check him out and see how great a job he can do... Keep on doing what you're doing Steve and thanks again. read more
