We came by for some bakery pizza, cheese pizza, and calzones. They offer so many different varieties of calzones and Stromboli that we had a hard time selecting which one we wanted to bring home. My kids LOVED their cheese pizza, specifically the tangy sauce and cheese they use at DePetrillo's. Their prices were very reasonable and their bakery items were very tasty. Pre-Ordered two Pizzas and a couple of Calzones for a graduation party last weekend from the NP location on Smith St. The girls inside are insanely helpful and friendly and everything was fresh, hot and they had pre sliced the Calzones for serving (thanks!). Prices are ridiculously lower than their competitors (and I did check the day before prior to ordering). Two more legs of the RI Food Fights "Lord of the Pies" battle today (I love days off). First up, Depetrillo's Pizza and Bakery on Smith Street in North Providence. We got a pepperoni slice and a "home style" slice (grandma slice with grated cheese). Both were great, especially the grandma. I'm familiar with DePetrillo's because they have one in Coventry as well and it was very similar to my hometown one. The difference is that the one near me doesn't have slices or a fantastic slice like the grandma. When you consider that it's only $1.50, that's an exceptional deal if you're hungry. Look how thick that bad boy is! The owner was also super nice, friendly and heated everything up for us. I asked how many Food Fight people had been through and he pulled out a basket with about 140 coupons. He said he really enjoyed it because it brought in new customers and he met some nice people. I would like to have given 3.5 stars. It's better than "Ok." But 4 stars is too many, at least based on my 2 most recent visits. Depetrillo's pizza chips are "crowd pleasers" especially if your crowd includes kids. Their Stromboli is also a good option for feeding a group - it's easy food for a casual gathering. It's nothing elaborate or exceptional, very "Rhody." PSA: If you want to order in advance for pick up - do NOT order on line using the "Slice" interface. Instead phone Depetrillo's directly. When I used Slice I went to p/u my food and was told by bakery staff they had "voided" my order bc they were out of calzone + backed up on pizza orders. The guy at the counter then told me I should have received a notice about the void from Slice. I did not. He also said I should have been issued a refund from Slice right away. I was not. The charge was still pending. I phoned Slice. They told me they saw the void, and that the charge would clear in 24-48 hours. So, to re-cap: My in store pick-up order was voided by the bakery. Nobody told me. I drove 5 miles to get my food. There was no food. There was no email regarding the void or the refund, so I used up more of my time to call Slice. They said wait 24-48 hours for the charge to clear. This means I will have to check back. Ordering online is supposed to = convenience. This situation was very much the opposite of convenient. read more

They are little round thin pizza strip discs but baked again (I think) which makes them crispy. So if you need something to bring to your next gathering, stop by and ask for the chips! read more

I'll be extra fair with this rating. I was going to give 3 stars but I'll give 4 and explain why. This bakery is super close to my house so I wanted to give it a go, the first time I came here I got a spinach pie and a slice of pizza, now the spinach pie was very very tasty I really enjoyed it but the pizza seemed to be undercooked, I wasn't really happy about that since I wanted the pizza more than the spinach pie. But any-who the people who work here greet you right away and make sure to be attentive and patient with you, I really enjoyed the young lady who helped me out. Now to my second time coming here I knew I was going to get the foot long looking spinach pie since the last time I went I only got the baby spinach pie. Boy was it delicious, the bread was cooked just right, it had just the right amount of spinach, cheese and pepperoni. I had a young man this time and also very sweet and attentive and greeted me right away. They have a nice size parking lot no worries about that. So I'm basing my rating on service and on the majority of the food I liked. I just won't come here for pizza. read more

A-ok... mostly. The party pizza strips are generally very good. Ordinarily, you will find the sauce to be just the right amount of sweet (not too acidic), and the dough to be baked to just the right amount of crispiness. DePetrillo's bread, and rolls are decent enough too. Though I can't say that they are distinctive from any other Italian bakeries in the area. Still, adequate Italian bread. However, DePetrillo's loses 2 stars due to the general inconsistency with their calzones & spinach pies. When this bakery first opened up at this location in North Providence, the calzones & spinach pies were sizable with ample fillings. The spinach was seasoned just right - with the perfect amount of spices etc. As the years progressed, the pies got smaller, and smaller. It's funny how as the prices went up, while the amount of filling, size, and quality of the pies began to diminish. This is the way of the world, I suppose. It is, what it is. For the last few years though, the general lack of consistency with flavor/seasoning, and the uneven volume of toppings in said pies/calzones has been an issue for me. It seems like a 50/50 proposition that I'll get a quality spinach pie. In one recent instance, I purchased a spinach pie that quite literally had barely two table spoons of flavorless spinach. As if someone had made a roll, and then, as an after thought, tossed a few pinches of spinach into it. In essence, I had paid over $4.00 for what amounted to a 50 cent roll. In a separate instance, I bought a pie that had so much salt in it, I had to discard it. These are but a few of the varied inconsistencies I've experienced with said product. read more

I called the store and asked if this was true, expecting to be told it was a glitched. Was informed that yes it was 'cancelled' because the cooks wanted to go home early. I was flabbergasted. Pizza chips!!!!!! If you are from Rhode Island you know party pizza, or pizza strips, these guys make the best around. But if you are ready for a real treat, try the pizza chips. They are like small bits of party pizza but baked again and so they are crispy and delicious. Serious game changer. I took my 7 year old daughter and she couldn't get enough of them. Lots of great calzone options too if you want something more substantial. That staff was really friendly and the prices are great. Definitely going back again. read more

They have decent food and my family and I stop by here often but if you call at 4:20 PM on a football Sunday, they may refuse to make you a cheese pizza because apparently they close in 40 minutes and the girl I spoke to told me it takes 25 minutes to cook and then they still have to clean up and they need to leave right at 5... I have to stop eating calzones. Seriously. Rounding out my calzone tasting tour was this place. Spontaneously stopped in to grab a few things for the Pats game tonight. Bought a Stromboli roll which is just a giant long calzone, pepperoni and cheese calzone, and one red slice. I demolished the red slice, delicious. Plenty of yummy sauce and great crust. I only bought one to see if they were any good. Now I wish I got more. Cut a small slice of Stromboli for a taste test. Awesome. And as I mentioned before, it is huuuge. I've only been in here once, so I would like to update this review once I have more to report on. Walked in because I wanted bread. Random, and odd because I didn't end up getting bread at all. I got a slice of pizza ($2.99) and a pack of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies ($5.99 for 10 cookies). The pizza was very good. I would definitely order it as a whole pizza. The cookies have a very good flavor. I love oatmeal chocolate chip. I would like for the cookie to be a little more chewy. Maybe less oats? I was impressed with this place because for some odd reason, I didn't think it was a full bakery. I'd go back to try other options and for more pizza! read more

The wife and I were fans of Golden Crust that's until we tried DePetrillo's this has now become our go to place for pizza. Their part pizza is one of the best I have tasted just the right amount of sauce and the cookies are some of the best cookies I've had in sometime .
