So sad to see that they have retired and permanently closed this location. I wish I had given them a 5 star review sooner. I live in Racine, and I have enjoyed their pizza since we moved here in 2019. Like many Southeastern Wisconsiners,I am an Illinois transplant, the land where the best pizza was born, so it's often hard to find comparable or even acceptable pizza elsewhere. I dipped it down to 4* more bc I realize the pan pizza is just a little too much dough. I think they need to find a happy medium between the two. If you are trying to feed 4 people per pizza then the pan pizza is ideal if they don't mind the carbs. The salad selections are pretty light. Lots of lettuce but not an amazing amount of essential toppings. read more

I know 2 stars! This place was suggested to me by a friend who likes thin crust pizzas I like thin so I tried it. Not again. Not worth the drive! I got a sausage pizza and the it was good. I got an order of garlic bread and was shocked and unimpressed!! What I was given was Italian bread sliced like sandwich bread brushed w a Little garlic butter which had Little garlic flavor WTH? Then when I checked out they charge 3% service fee for all credit card charges. Cashier did not mention to me the fee who appeared to be the owner. Didn't say a word! I saw a small sign hardly visible to the human eye re this fee. Lucky for me I saw the sign and switched to paying cash for our meal to go. I understand the fee but inform your customers better. My only issue with my pizza was the middle portion of the pizza stuck to the bottom of the pizza box!! Again WTH! I will not return here. read more

Extremely disappointed in the quality of the food we received. I used to love Derangks and its been years since I've had it. We ordered over $70.00 worth of food. One pizza I had asked for EXTRA pepperoni and there was barely any on it.. but the chicken parmigiana with mushrooms was terrible. The chicken was so dry and hard to cut into. We ended up throwing the meals away. I gave 2 stars because mini soups that came with it we enjoyed. We moved to the area six months ago and we've always been more partial to Infusino's virgin crust and didn't really give DeRan a shot. That was my bad. I can only speak for the thin crust but it is on point. IMHO it has the perfect amount of sauce, cheese, and bake for me. The sauce is dope, not too acidic or salty. I highly recommend giving them a shot. I tend to keep things simple on pizza and go with just a topping or two at most so sausage and/or pepperoni is my jam. Also, as most people, I am a freak in the sheets and for mozzy sticks. They give you like a dozen fried cheesies paired with a cup of their marinara sauce. Tonight, Monday 10-24-2022, i ordered a 20" cheese and sausage pizza and two (2) house salads for pick-up. When i arrived home, I noticed the pizza was burnt and the lettuce was soft and brown. I called DeRangeo's and spoke with a manager. When I explained the condition of my food order, the manager said, "hold-on. let me see what happened".......... upon her return, she (the manager) said, I (the manager) remembered cutting your pizza. i said, what.......... how can you say you remembered cutting my pizza. initially you said you needed to find out. Then she said, our pizza's are coming out a little burnt lately. I then asked, "that is your excuse???" Obviously, customers must be complaining letely for you to say that. i also told her I have a picture.........She said, "there is nothing she can but the pizza and salad'. i said, I paid with my Credit Card and I will dispute the charge because of the food I CANNOT eat. She good,,,,,,,,,,,, go ahead and dispute the charge. I than asked; 'this is how you treat a loyal custimer???" She said; "she treats ALL customers the same way. We came here twice before to get take-out. The first time we were overwhelmed by the vast menu (and sort of doubted the quality and taste Bc of the extensive menu that covers Italian, American, Mexican, southern, and seafood staples). The second time, the wait was too long. The key is to peruse the menu in the comfort of one's home and place an order an hour before hunger pangs commence. We ordered a 12 inch thin crust specialty pizza and the cheese filled gnocchi dinner w grilled chicken. The Italian dinners come w choice of soup or salad and choice of garlic bread or bread sticks. The pizza was fantastic. I don't recall the name but it had tomatoes, mozzarella, ricotta, and basil, I believe. It was flavorful, not oily. No gross feelings afterwards- win! The cheese stuffed gnocchi was nice and filling. The garlic bread was too soft and bland. Perhaps the italian bread is better? I don't recall the kind of soup, but it was okay. The price runs a bit steep for a non-dine in experience, but serving sizes are hefty and the food is actually pretty good. Our two individual orders could easily have fed four hungry adults. Noteworthy- The pick up area inside has four or five chairs. It's a dark, dingy, small space with pages of the menu lining the walls. The wait given at the time of order was 25 mins, but we had to wait a few more minutes after we got there. Another customer who was already waiting wasn't thrilled that he had to wait an additional few mins for his order as well. Three's a crowd in that space! read more

Done a nice job fixed this restaurant up ,been going here since I was a kid .Decent pizza and I was surprised how good the breakfast was.

I have to confess I am a sucker for cracker crust pizza. Derango's does it right, with generous portions baked from scratch and served up deliciously! I stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon and ordered a small thin crust with sausage, mushrooms and onion. My nutritionist tells me to make sure I get my vegetables first, so I ordered the side salad. Derango's is a large restaurant with a bar, side party room that holds seating for at least 20, and many booths with privacy. The decor is simple. The place is sparkling clean throughout. I liked taking in the hand painted murals with scenes of Italy on the walls. My salad came out first. It was very fresh and green, tasty. And, it was huge! A few minutes later, my pizza came out. It was huge - 12 inches. And the crust was crisp and perfectly baked. My mouth is watering thinking about its chewy perfection. Good thing I have about half of it in my fridge to enjoy later. We've only had carryout and our experiences have still been awful! Rude staff. Like they are doing you some kind of favor by taking your order. Or you're bothering them with another order. And then you get a friendly "yeah. Fine. 20 minutes." *CLICK* Chicken that I'm almost positive had been cooked, frozen and then nuked in a microwave to go in my scallopini. LITERALLY couldn't even chew it. Had to throw it away. It was like leather. A frozen Tiramisu with about a half inch of freezer burn on top... they still served it. Ordered a CSMO pizza. The onions overwhelmed the pizza that after taking 1 bite of the fresh pie and 1 bite of the leftovers it went to the trash. Maybe it was a bad onion, but unless you are an onion lover be very careful. I'll go back to the 6 mile location in Racine for pizza. However love the pizza burger. read more

We moved into the area last year and tried to find a good place to have pizza delivered. The pizza isn't terrible but the staff, horrible. The last 3 orders we've had delivered have been incorrect so I finally called. Tonight we ordered and again we receive the wrong pizza, how hard is it to take a simple pizza order. The young girl that answers the phone has zero personality, isn't that pleasant and obviously can't take orders correctly. We are officially done ordering from this place. First, there was something brown floating in my water. Second, we waited 20 minutes just to get our soup. On that note, the Chicken Noodle soup was good (not great). I had the Prime Rib and for the 1st time ever getting Prime Rib, I got the "butt" (end) part. Not good. Mashed potatoes were very dry. They were accommodating in upgrading my soup from a cup to a bowl in place of a salad. Bonus is they have a vegetable of the day! We spent over an hour having supper which to me is way too long. Went in to have breakfast this morning as I had been told that they had a pretty good breakfast. My wife and I arrived and were seated right away by ourselves, as in there was no one else in the restaurant. When we sat down we could hear the manager telling the waitress that she had done something wrong and he was lecturing her on how to do it correct. Something about putting the credit card receipts in the correct spot. The reason I mention this is we could hear it clear across the room, probably should have talked with her in the back or at least quieter so customers did not hear it. My wife ordered a Denver Omelet with bacon, I ordered a vegetable skillet minus feta cheese add cheddar cheese, both of us requested Italian bread. When our food arrived it looked great but I realized to my disappointment that the waitress forgot to ask what type of egg I wanted so she made the decision for me. Of course she could have walked 10 over to our table to ask what I wanted but instead she decided that I wanted scrambled eggs (which I didn t). I moved on but after cutting into my eggs I found them to be under-cooked. To the point that raw egg was dripping out of it. I ended up scraping all the eggs off my skillet and throwing them on a napkin. Now that I was raw egg free, I took my first actual bit of my skillet and realized to my horror that they did not put cheddar cheese on my skillet as I requested. They threw liquid cheddar cheese on it like you would use on nachos, it was disgusting. So I spent the new couple of minutes scrapping all of the cheddar and as a result vegetables off the vegetables off of the skillet and was left with hash browns. You can t go wrong with hash browns right? Wrong! They forgot to cook them, they were cold in the middle and were raw to the point of being crunchy. After all of that I paid nearly $7.00 for some toast, I could have picked up a few loafs and been much happier with the end result. The waitress looked at my pile of eggs on the napkin, looked at my pile of nacho vegetables and pretended she did not notice them. Never once were we asked how the food was? Never once were we asked if there was a problem with the food I was piling up and not eating. When she came to pick up the plates full of food she only asked if we were finished and took it all away. It was almost like this was pretty standard at Derango s and nothing new. My wife s omelet was decent she said, nothing special but at least it was cooked. In the end i was handed a $16.00 bill which is not on the cheap side for Racine. I could have gone to Cliff s Boathouse, Douglas Diner, Kiss the Cook, etc. and gotten myself a great breakfast for half this cost. Instead I overpaid for bad food! Finally it has been about 45 minutes or so since we had our meal and I have one hell of a stomach ache. Maybe I will be in the hospital by the end of the day with salmonella who knows. Ordered from door dash. Food was confirmed at 4:09 and I called at 4:14 to ask that cheese be taken off half and I was met with an incredibly rude attitude. He said that I should have called as soon as I placed the order... I called within 5 minutes how is that not soon enough? He said the pizza was in the oven and it was to late. So the cheese is already all melted on there? He blamed the door dash people and called them "foreign". Poor customer service and just very rude. I don't even mind that it was "already" in the oven but the rudeness from the other man on the phone was completely unnecessary and I was neither demanding nor disrespectful. Rough first experience-long wait time for drinks and longer for the food. My husband and I had to share one fork (set of silverware) for our meals although we asked several times for more silverware.
