This is a really unique restaurant tucked away inside a car club. You don't have to be a member of the car club to eat there but you do get to feast your eyes on all of the fancy/classic cars & motorcycles inside from the glass wall along the one side of the restaurant. While there are no vegan items marked on the menu, they were able to accommodate me in our large group. The chef made a mushroom empanada for me with a salsa verde and a warm orzo slaw - it was really delicious. Service was great with our large group as well. I would highly recommend this place! This was our first time here. Took part in the shop tour ($15 per person). There was a party upstairs so it was a little too loud to hear the guide speaking, but loved seeing the cars! We both ate the fried chicken with grits, could use more flavor. Staff were friendly but service was slow. It took quite a while to get our drinks and food and it wasn't that busy in the dining area. WOW. This is an INCREDIBLE concept! High end garage in downtown, with a members only club on the second level and a restaurant on the ground floor. Totally unassuming in the outside, be ready for your mind to be blown once you're inside!! Think of it like Jay Leon's airplane hangar sized-garage with a restaurant attached. Talk about a table with a view!! Ordered chicken and waffles and eggs Benedict. Here with friends who are having French toast, another order (or two) of chicken and waffles, and have nearly demanded that we have a side of Bad Ass Bacon to share. Friends have arranged a tour of the 'garage' (um, SHOWROOM) with Michelle after lunch. Yippee!!!! And the bad ass bacon lives up to its name. These are SLABS of bacon (3 to a serving) have a great maple sweetness that's not overpowering, but just right. Friends French toast looks awesome and SMELLS amazing!! Giant blueberries and a huge dollops of vanilla crème. Ok, the chicken and waffle is worth the drive up from Houston- just the right combination of sweet from the waffle and rosemary-maple syrup, and heat from the perfectly fried chicken and peppers. 100% would be worth ordering again. Ok. Seriously. That waffle was crispy and soft and delightful and I'm not sure if there was crack in the powdered sugar, but that thing was ADDICTIVE! I took my 22 year old son to brunch for his birthday. I expected nice cars and mediocre food, boy was I wrong! The food was heavenly, the bacon was the brisket of all bacon! The omelette was substantial and flavorful. The chicken and waffles were so light and fluffy, you'll swear you can eat more... but don't, you'll need to walk for the tour! Keep that belt buckled friend! Service was great! I wanted to buy a souvenir glass, but they were too low on stock to allow it. (Previous customer likely took a "free" souvenir ) I went back a couple weeks later and there was a "members meeting" that just arrived. Service was slow, understandably 20 people or so had just arrived before me. However our server was really attentive and gave us updates. The manager even can put and offered everyone who had to wait a free tour ($10 value gift coupons). Again... the food was worth the wait. The restaurant is a large open building with cars and motorcycles inside. Remodeled sleek industrial car garage (car daycare!). The restaurant is where you enter, and the showroom is connected with a glass wall of windows, so you can admire the one of a kind cars while you dine. Bathrooms were clean and tidy. Wow!! We were looking for a good place to have lunch with our grandson before his soccer game. We had no idea how cool this place is with all the classic cars. Even better, the food is incredible. My wife and I had the BLT & E. A huge meal on sourdough bread. Grandson had the Caesar salad and said it was great. Our service was excellent and efficient. Loved it! This was our first time at the Derby. What a unique space. We were meeting friends for dinner who were arriving from Love Field, about 10 minutes away. Gina was our server and she was great! So nice, helpful and accommodating. In fact, all the staff were very pleasant and a number of them stopped by our table during our extended time there. Chef Gregory made a point to stop by to check on our food and to get feedback. Nice touch. We loved our drinks and our food. If there was a minor con for me is that I didn't study the menu well enough. I looked at the food pics here on Yelp and thought I was getting a Chicken sandwich I saw in the pics but they actually change up the menu monthly. What I received was this month's style of chicken sandwich. Not a huge deal, Though I would have enjoyed the other one more. I came here for brunch with my dad, and this is exactly what I was hoping for! The restaurant is attached to The Shop, a place where people who love classic cars can store and maintain them. Upon entrance, the building has that distinct auto-shop smell and the restaurant looks into the room where the cars are kept. The staff did a good job of serving and the food is good quality. We came for brunch, and the menu is small, but covers all the bases nicely. The frittata that i ordered was delicious. If ypu are a car person, or someone looking to treat the car person in your life, i highly recommend Derby! read more

We came to see the cars first and food second. We didn't realize you can look at the cars through the glass only unless it is the weekend and you pay $15 per person to go past the glass. I ordered a Reuben. A classic Reuben has sauerkraut on it and the menu states it has sauerkraut. The chefs decided to kick it up a notch with kimchi. Sauerkraut and kimchi both have fermented cabbage in them, but they are very different flavor profiles. Had I known, I would have ordered something else. They did comp the sandwich and offered to make something else, but my schedule didn't allow it. read more

I had made a reservation since we were celebrating a birthday. Hostess sat us next to window once I mentioned it. She was nice. Brunch menu has many options that look great. We tried Matt's bad ass bacon and we enjoyed it. The Beef medallion hash and the Steak omelette ranchero. Both flavorful, however the crispy potatoes on omelette meal had an odd fish aftertaste. What a fun place!! Not only is the food great but so is the view! Check out vintage cars - and some are so unique you won't find them anywhere else. The upstairs area for members is really nice and comes with games, workspaces, other amenities and a cigar lounge. Downstairs, the restaurant is open to the general public. Unbelievably good food. The menu changes every several months and they are fresh local source ingredients used. The service is impeccable, and the drinks and cocktails are also excellent. You also can't beat the ambience being in a restaurant around exotic vehicles with great food and great drinks. This is the best kept secret for Saturday and Sunday brunch in DFW in addition to one of the top lunch spots Tuesday through Sunday. One of my favorite dessert is the current cake, and recently the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich is outstanding. Pro tip: the french fries are to die for and I would highly recommend getting them as a side if it doesn't come with your meal. read more
