Nearly every time I make a visit to 4Play, I not only see 4WDs in the queue but also a variety of classics, including hot rods (50s Chevy's, 60s Mustangs, etc.). For nearly a decade, Chuck took great care of my '66 Mustang Fastback; now, he's babying my '89 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and I wouldn't take that classic vehicle anywhere else. About Chuck: he's an analytical guy (not at all unlike many of the software engineers that I work with in my high-tech job) who wants to understand the root of the problem - and not just what the problem is (vs. "symptoms") but also how it came to be a problem at all. He's really fantastic, and the only reason I haven't taken all of my vehicles to Chuck is due to the complexity with diagnosing issues with my later-model Volvos. It's just not feasible for Chuck pay for Volvo's software subscription when he rarely works on Volvo vehicles. Great guy, honest guy, gets to the root of the problem *and* what's causing the problem. 100% would refer him to others.

(4 out of 5) If car…read moredealerships were judged purely on service departments, Shingle Springs Honda would be dangerously close to perfection. I've never actually bought a car here (and after seeing the prices, my wallet immediately filed a restraining order), because the markup on their vehicles is absolutely wild. Like... "is this car also coming with a small vacation home?" kind of wild. So yeah, that's the only reason they're not getting a full 5 stars. BUT... I always get my car serviced here, and they've been fantastic every time. I have a 2017 Honda Civic Si, and I've never once had an issue with their service department. Shoutout to Melissa, my service advisor, who is honestly amazing. Every visit is smooth, fast, and painless. I'm usually in and out quickly, which in car-dealership time is basically a miracle. Their mechanics actually know what they're doing too. I had this super annoying rear window leak that I couldn't figure out for the life of me. They tracked it down to a bad window seal and fixed it properly. No guesswork. No "let's see if this works." Just... fixed. The place feels professional, trustworthy, and well-run, which is exactly what you want when someone is poking around your car with expensive tools. So yeah: * Buying a car here: * Getting your Honda serviced here: If you own a Honda and want reliable, competent, and fast service, I'd absolutely recommend Shingle Springs Honda. Just... maybe don't look at the new car prices unless you're emotionally prepared.

Scheduled a service appointment 2 weeks in advance through their online scheduler to get my oil…read morechanged and filter replaced. Upon arriving, the lady who was helping me stated their online scheduler has not been working the last few WEEKS where it's not alerting them of scheduled appointments online. She proceeded to not look up my customer file with Honda (even though I've stated I've only been serviced at Honda) and she created a whole new profile which took 15 minutes of her typing in my information (name, car information, etc). After she checks my odometer and service codes, she stated I needed a full service done for $700+. I laughed and stated I just had my car inspected 5,000 miles ago and I do not need a full service that I came here for a simple oil change and filter replacement. I guess no the first time wasn't enough because she proceeded to ask me three more times before taking my key and saying they'll get started on it shortly. I asked her to please call and notify me when it is ready since I was having lunch down the street with a family member (we walked) and she said she would. Fast forward, 3 hours later and 2 phone calls trying to check in on the status, another worker on the phone told me not to come in until I have received a call from the lady who helped me originally since "she has some suggestions she wants to go over for you". At this point, I was beyond over it because in all the times I have gone to Honda for a simple oil change it has lasted maybe 45 minutes in total to get my car serviced and back in my possession. Once arriving, I walked up to the service counter outside and was met with the lady who helped me originally stating that she had some suggestions for me. I cut her off and simply asked if my oil change and filter replacement was done, and she said yes hesitantly to where I proceeded to say " I don't need anything else I would like to pay and leave with my vehicle right now since no one wanted to update me or advise me my car was done even though I called twice to check on the status." Her only response was "You can go inside to customer service and they'll help you check out." TERRIBLE customer service, poor efficiency in getting work done on time and right, and most of all they are charging WAY too much for services when I can go anywhere else in town and pay $90 MAX for an oil change plus having all my fluids topped off for free. I spent $225 at Honda because they charged me for a refill of brake fluid that was $125. I partially take the blame for that though as I did not look at the itemized receipt because I just wanted to get out of there as quick as possible. BEWARE! I would avoid going here at all cost.
