Disappointing experience overall. Orders took forever to be prepared, dosa was cold, service was subpar and the food was nothing to rave about. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, especially the outdoor seating when the weather is pleasant. Plenty of parking is available. Overall, there is much to be improved about the food and service. Pricing : Expensive for the food served. There are many better places to spend the money in. Will I return? : Unlikely!

Super cute eatery in Coppell! The outdoor seating is what I love most - but only second to their food! We ordered the pav bhai, shezwan noodles and two cakes and it was *chefs kiss*. Felt like I was back on the streets of Mumbai! Highly recommend! I will be back! The only downside was I actually wanted the grilled sandwich and Frankie but their grill was not working :-(

This place is a hidden gem! I'm not sure about the other negative reviews, but we had a great experience here. Service was fast and the food was so so good. There's a huge variety to choose from on the menu. We happened to order all vegetarian but everything was great! They only had onion samosas available, so we tried those. Nicely fried and crispy, and was also good dipped in some of the sauce that came with the dosa. The masala dosa was delicious - the filling was amazing, and I would absolutely order it again. I've had different versions of the palak paneer at other establishments, and my only comment is that they're a bit on the heavier side in terms of spice level. I want to differentiate that compared to level of spiciness, to which we ordered medium and it was the perfect amount of kick without being too overwhelming. The garlic naan is super well done. We tried the rose milk out of curiosity and to be adventurous, and although I normally don't like fragrance flavored foods, it was not bad! I think the ice cream really balanced it out and the basil seeds added some nice texture. They make all of their drinks in house and it was in a cute little bottle, convenient for taking on the go! Will have to try the mango lassi if I visit again. There was also a chai that I saw many people order that I'm curious about. Overall, great experience and would highly recommend!

Wonderful setup, can compare with Al LOL, good tea and best for evening snacks in Coppell,

No sanitizer used to clean tables.

All of the foods that we've had here and their Colony location have been reasonably good. Their opportunities are around presentation, some better customer service and certainly cleanliness. Of the few times we've dined in, I have never seen the place use any sanitizer or otherwise cleaner to clean off table tops and chairs. It leaves me to wonder the lack of attention to cleanliness in parts of the restaurant not visible to the customers. The restroom is also another area of opportunity. I won't share the details but use your imagination. For food, the tastes are generally good. Pricing is a bit on the higher end for what you get. There are certainly other options not too far away that have a better value and similar tastes. I hope they implement a better cleaning program or the city forces them to.

They are rude and the service sucks. Their printer and yelp menu don't communicate in the same language. You can order in yelp and their ticket in the kitchen won't match up and they don't give a crap in the restaurant. This is the second time in a row they have messed up our orders and last time they didn't care either.

The Butter Chicken Masala is delicious!!! I ordered online for pickup and it was ready within 10 minutes.

Service is extremely slow & incompetent!!! Terrible & unorganised!!! Taking name for every single order even for a single tea !! Wasting time! Totally unacceptable for the amount of staff inside to say 30-35 mins for back of the house orders for a simple fried rice & appetiser & haleem!! I'm sure you are not making everything right at the moment!! I was standing at the counter to find that people ordered after me were receiving their orders from back of the house while my order was just sitting in the kitchen. The girl Maanvi, who was taking orders is very unorganised & irresponsible!!! She doesn't even care to look at the pending orders!!! Some of the tables were filthy!! And you got 5 to 8 people working and do not bus the tables!! When asked about my order after 30 mins, guy from inside yells out "will take time" & lady comes up & said it would take time. A party of 8 came after me, ordered various items from front and back and even left the restaurant when I was just waiting over there to receive my order. I was sitting there and counting people coming & seeing them receiving their orders. I literately had to wait for 50 mins to receive my order!!! Ordered at 8:45 & received at 9:32!! I am surrounded with 10 different bars & restaurants in walkable distance. 2.5 miles drive to desi district, 7 miles to swadeshi, 6 miles to little India & a bunch of other restaurants on MacArthur in Irving. I do not need to drive 25 minutes to come to receive this kind of bad & irresponsible service & mediocre tasting food!!! Next time will take my business else where. UNACCEPTABLE!!! Coming to food, it has always been a hit or miss. Chowratha fried chicken & pani puri have been consistent. Haleem was thick as paste and with bones & no toppings. Fried rice was just ok!!! Tried pav bhaji (pav was super dry & curry was missing salt & lemon) chicken Frankie (was bland) biryanis, etc. Never bother to come back, but with this service & quality of food totally unacceptable!!

    Paneer Tikka Masala, Malai Kofta

DONT DO IT! Food is DELICIOUS, so we've been here several times and consider us hopeless idiots for continuing to come back. The food is truly incredible but the amount of time you have to wait for it... We TODAY (5/30) ordered online and came in 30 minutes afterwards just to be told it won't be ready for another 20 minutes? You would think waiting an additional 5-10 minutes after your quoted Uber eats time would keep this issue from happening, but no. I went on my Uber eats tab to check the progress and they marked my food as complete while I sit here in the car with ten minutes still left on my in person quoted wait time. I suggest ordering an hour before you're ready to eat, online, checking in in person at the drive through, and running some errands to work up an appetite and then just maybe by the time you come back it'll be ready! Update: hopped back in line at the drive thru just to be told at the speaker they needed five minutes, and then at the window (five minutes later) they still needed five minutes. Told us he'd personally bring it out to us at the front. Waited for another ten minutes. Went back through the drive through for another ten. In all we waited just about an hour and a half for two regular meals. OFFICIALLY NEVER COMING BACK. I'd ask for a refund but I feel like that'd take a whole nother hour :| DONT EVEN BOTHER

Best Indian food I have had in the DFW area since moving here in 2020. Great customer service and amazing flavor. Will certainly be coming back when I get my cravings.

    Supposedly methi malai!
    Shubha S.

Going down in quality and service! Cannot believe they are out of a lot of stuff including dum biryanies and rava dosa, also the mint and tamarind chutneys! They would not give me any with my samosas even when I asked for it. How are you making chaat without them??? Our methi malai kofta did not have any methi, not even a spec of green! Butter naan was so dry, no trace of butter! No ice for water. None of the tables are clean, the floor is dirty as well! Don't think we will visit again... It was a super frustrating experience!

The Silk Road - Spicy Lamb Malabar…read more First time ordering lamb at The Silk Road, and I'm kicking myself for waiting. I'm eat 4-6 meals from here a week, but I usually stick to other favorites. The Spicy Lamb Malabar just became a new regular for me. Today's plate: Lamb: Seriously impressive. Huge serving of fall-apart tender chunks with zero gaminess. It soaks up the sauce perfectly and the curry leaves give every bite that aromatic, almost nutty fragrance. This is the most protein for you body builders and bulk weight trainers. Sauce: The big chunks of tomato were a standout -- bright, slightly sweet, and they kept the dish from feeling too heavy. Curry leaves were fried into the oil, so you get that flavor all the way through. Spice balance: It was light on mustard seed this time, and I didn't catch the sweet spices like cardamom or cinnamon, like last weeks shrimp Malabar. No mushrooms today either. Honestly, I didn't miss them with how well the tomato and lamb worked together. Why it's stellar: Even without the full mustard/sweet spice profile I was expecting, the dish is just dialed in. The heat builds slowly, the lamb is top-tier, and the curry leaf + tomato combo is addictive. For a first-time lamb order, this was a knockout. To The Silk Road team: You've got me converted to the lamb. If the version with more mustard seed and that whisper of sweet spice on the finish comes through next time, this is an easy 5+/5. Today's was still a solid 5/5 and I'm already planning when I'll order it again. Bottom line: If you're new to lamb or new to The Silk Road, start here. The Spicy Lamb Malabar is bold, comforting, and flat-out delicious. Even on a "lighter mustard" day, it's one of the best dishes I've had here -- and I'm here 4-6 times a week.

The appetizers were better than the North Indian dishes. The paneer tikka masala and malai kofta were on the sweeter side despite us ordering them medium spicy. The kofta balls were also on the smaller side, and the paneer tikka masala had very few pieces of paneer. The chow mein was the star of the meal. It was flavorful and definitely my favorite dish. For the pakora, they only gave a small amount of green chutney, so we had to ask for more along with some tamarind chutney. There's parking behind the restaurant, which was convenient. If you're in the mood for chaat or North Indian food, I would probably choose a different restaurant.

At a $19 price tag I would say it's not a bad value since you get more than enough to take as leftovers so possibly two meals for one. Punjabi chicken and cauliflower was solid also...though at $13 a little high for appetizer. Overall, I didn't feel adventurous this particular day. The Lunch Thali gives you a lot of bang for your buck and mine included ~5 pieces of fish fry, about the same amount of veg pakora, yogurt dip, chicken curry with rice, 2 different soups, a naan/tortilla thing, and a carrot dessert (like a halwa).
