We bought our home in February of 2020. Our AC unit went out in July of 2022, 29 months later…read more Miller Cooling and Heating came out and recommended a full condenser unit replacement. The price was a little above market average, but they were willing to workout an in house financing option for us, so we were pleased.... at first. In August 2023, the same brand new unit lost a compressor only 13 months after a complete installation and replacement. The reason it went out was due to a leak in freon inside the walls right next to the condenser unit. They honored our warranty and only charged us for a service call and gave prompt and timely service... but then charged me over $2000 to replace the copper piping they say wasn't their fault... they claim it was "vibration" that damaged the pipe and they weren't responsible for the small crack in the pipe in the crease of the bend.... However, 29 months that same pipe held up just fine in my old AC unit. Once they replaced the condenser and attached to it, it barely lasted a year. The Crack is very very small... It seems logical to me that it would take 13 months to lose between 12-15 pounds of freon from that small of a crack, which indicates to me that Miller Cooling and Heating cracked that pipe while replacing the condenser and didn't want to pay for it. Shaun was very rude on the phone and refused to work with me at all, most of the charge coming from labor.... I have spoken with several AC specialists since then, offering up my paperwork stating charges and services and they all believe that Miller Cooling and Heating is to blame. I am an avid supporter of small business, but i have yet to pay the 2000 they want to charge me. If Shaun were willing to work with me I wouldn't be on here right now... but I can assure you that if you are seeking an honest company, this isn't the one you are seeking. Go somewhere else and save yourself potential money... because if they make a mistake, they certainly won't own up for it. In fact, they will find a way for you to pay for the service to save themselves money. Avoid at all cost.

Even though they said they would send me a refund. Context: I had a new HVAC build plus ductwork on a 1,000 sq ft home. For the most part the equipment works fine with the exception that it seems undersized when we have extreme climates in San Antonio (i.e below 30 degrees or in the upper 90s) as it struggles to maintain desired temperature in those situations. For the heater, my desired temp is ~66 degrees in the winter and for the AC, the desired temp is about 75 degrees in summer. I change out my filters twice a month since I have dogs and I run all my fans and have good overall insulation in my house. Regardless, I never really complained about these issues since I paid about half of what I would have paid for an HVAC system from a larger company. You get what you pay for. My issue with Miller Cooling and Heating company is their customer service. The one time I did call them regarding an issue the tone in voice I got from Shawn over the phone was very defensive and I was not even coming in strong to deserve that but quite frankly, I've felt this way every time I talked to him. When they came onsite to address my issue I was sold an "annual priority membership service" for $165 and they were supposed to come out twice a year to maintain the system health but they never came. Every time I would try to call them about it I would get ghosted and or get the runaround. At this point, I've talked to a Molly, a "Larry" which might've been a chat bot I don't know and I've tried talking with Shawn directly. Nonetheless this phone tag game spanned over the course of a year and when I finally got tired of it I asked for a refund which they said they would honor half but that was about a month ago in early April 2025 and still have not received anything. At this point I'm tired of dealing with this, it's not the customers job to keep track of their schedule. It's very unprofessional of them to put it on the customer to be on top of their bi annual service schedule. How am I supposed to know when you guys do your rounds? I'll be filing a complaint and taking my business elsewhere. It's a shame because I even referred them to a relative and gave them business but still got treated poorly. I never was malicious and I was SUPER patient with them but that only seemed to make matters worse.

***Consumer beware***…read more This is my second review for this company. My first review was a 3 star because of the quality of work all around. I had three mini splits installed in my upstairs bedrooms. Compressor is located in the backyard. My initial install was done in 2022. I was quoted around $13,000 for 3 heads and install. They finished the install in two visits and there was minor damage to my house but wasn't forthcoming in telling me. I witnessed it myself on my ADT camera. Since the initial install I've had them come approximately 5-6 times over the years, specifically for one unit that Louis said was an 'upgrade' for free. That free unit has been the bane of my existence. I called them multiple times to fix the same issue and I was continuously told that there wasn't anything wrong, that it was working properly. Each visit came with a service fee of around $165. There was an obvious difference in temperature in the room even with the cool fan blowing high. It would take a several hours to cool down the whole room. The other two didn't have that issue and blew cool air immediately. I got fed up and called another company to come check it out. The unit in fact had an issue at the compressor. The line was not screwed on all the way and it was leaking oil. There was also evidence of oil on the ground. The freon had leak to almost half of what it was supposed to be. 4Winds came to investigate AFTER I had to do some convincing that it was an issue on the install. I called several times because they don't always call back. I had to send pictures that the other company provided to help me with evidence of the readings. 4Winds came to fix the issue and the new tech in fact DID see the issue with the leak as soon as he looked at the compressor. He tightened all the screws, refilled the freon and it "magically" blew cool air like the other two heads. The units were not installed in ideal locations within the rooms. Two of them sit low on the wall and the problematic unit impedes a full door swing. Now that unit is leaking water and the carpet is wet all the time. I called back the same company that identified the issue and wouldn't you know...he went inside the attic and saw that there was tape around the PVC. The moisture and dripping of water is seeping through the wall which is causing my carpet and the wood floor underneath it to be wet all the time. The room smells like mildew and we have had to use the wet vacuum to get all the water we can. There is evidence of mold on the baseboard underneath the unit and the carpet is coming up in the corner and alongside the baseboard. I now have to get the leak fixed, baseboard treated or replaced and carpet treated as well. Shop around! Question everything they say. Get second and third opinions. Watch everything that they are doing and don't let them convince you to get mini splits when all they had to do was rework your ductwork!

The company double-billed me for the same AC service, an invoice I had already paid, and has ignored three months of my calls and emails seeking clarification about the second charge. I continue to receive automated invoices without any explanation of the duplicate billing or the work supposedly performed. Even worse, an employee reached out to me in an email, falsely claiming that I was trying to hold them "financially responsible" for things outside of their control simply because I asked a question about the work performed. This was especially troubling since the dispatcher had already confirmed it was the same issue being repaired a second time. Neither management nor the owner (who had been personally introduced to me) has ever responded. This company's unprofessionalism, billing errors, and disregard for customers are appalling. Avoid this company at all costs. I am now evaluating whether to escalate this matter to consumer protection agencies to prevent others from being treated the same way. It's sad to see a business I've supported for years fail to provide simple explanations and treat loyal customers this poorly. All trust has been lost. Response to the Company's response: I appreciate the company's reply, but it unfortunately confirms the very issue I described. For three months, I asked for clarification on why I was billed twice for the same unresolved problem, a matter your own dispatcher acknowledged was the same service being revisited, not a new one. That's why I reached out for clarification, as anyone would after receiving a second bill by surprise that was said to be for the same work. The repair was only completed successfully on the second visit, which is when payment should reasonably apply. The problem has since been resolved with no further issues, confirming that the first visit was not a completed job, something also acknowledged by the dispatcher. Despite repeated outreach, no one ever explained this or provided details of what was done on that second visit; I only received another invoice. After being ignored for months, I ultimately paid the second bill under threat of collections, not because the situation was ever clarified. The owner's follow-up came only after I posted this review, and even then, my questions about billing and communication were not addressed. I've been a customer for over five years and have always paid promptly once a repair was completed. My only request was transparency. It's disappointing that instead of acknowledging that, the company continues to deflect responsibility rather than address the lack of communication and customer care that led to this situation. I'm not looking to escalate this any further; I simply wanted the company to understand how this came across from a long-time customer's perspective. I genuinely hope you take this as constructive feedback. In my experience, clear communication and follow-through make all the difference in maintaining trust and long-term relationships. Disacknowledgement only leads to a loss of trust, and in this case, confirms it.

They've saved me a small FORTUNE multiple times…read more Today my aircon drain plugged upstairs. AT 4:30 pm o;n a Fridday I needed help. They sent out someone for an emergency call. They fixed it fast and charged me UNDER $270!! On a Friday evvening at 7 pm. when tech arrived. That's amazing. He also figured out how to unclog the downstairs sink which drained slow. No one else could figure it out cause it's copper pipes that are an odd configuration. Another time he sold me an air conditioner for about $9,000 less than others would have charged. He said it was an older model he had. It works fantastic as the house is older. Perfect match. I'm not saying they're perfect. But I've dealt with other plumbing companies who tried to charge me $10,000 for a problem they fixed for $300. HONEST is freaking hard to find.

The technician came to my house on Wednesday and diagnosed the issue. He was supposed to send a report to the insurance company to initiate the repair, but he never did. For four days straight, my insurance company tried calling Robertson Mechanical without any response; their calls went to voicemail every time. Due to this lack of communication and follow-through, my insurance provider had to assign a new technician to get the job done.
