We like to come walk Oakland nature preserve often, and we always pass by this donut shop, however it's always been closed! Today it was finally open, and we stopped in for some treats. Our party was split into two cars- we went through the drive-thru while the other members went inside to order. Both went quick, but there is a downside to the drive thru option: they don't tell you much information. We ordered a half dozen donuts (2 glaze, 2 cake, 1 cinnamon roll, and 1 Nutella biscoff). When we got our donuts, we realized that the cake donut was flavored, not just classic vanilla. We thought it was maybe strawberry, but then the rest of the party showed up with their donuts, and they said the cake donut was cherry. "When we ordered the cake donut, the cashier informed me that it was cherry flavored and wanted to make sure I was okay with it before I ordered ." So that would have been nice to know, but the worker taking our order at the window didn't tell us that. We also thought it was a cinnamon roll flavored donut, not an actual cinnamon roll. The donuts are HUGE. They are delicious and fresh, and they don't feel greasy or overly sweet (even though you do get a sugar rush after you have a few pieces of various donuts :). ) We don't eat donuts too often, but when we do crave some, you can be sure we will be back here to grab a few! read more

Everything is set up so cute, I can only imagine what they'll do when they get their own store in some plaza one day. I am not going to lie I'm a little upset they moved all the way to Ocoee , but I can promise it's worth the hike! the doughnuts are so fresh and delicious every day, and they rotate their new flavors every week. We also used DG for our wedding and the manager who helped us organized the flavors we wanted was very accommodating and helpful to us! We ended up ordered 100 doughnuts (half size) and got to pick out different flavors. Every guest at our wedding raved about how they loved the taste of the doughnuts! Let me preface this by stating, I've been to Donut King and there's no comparison. The dough, freshness and plain love DG put into their creations is worth every penny. With all the hype of DG you know my foodie ego was like "what are you waiting for"? I read once they sell out they do not restock, so I was advised to arrive early. I set my alarm for 7am to make the 45min drive to Oakland, FL to see what all the hype was about. As soon as you walk in you're immediately greeted and able to watch the dough being prepared through a glass protector. The woman helping me with my order asked if I had any questions and offered suggestions. I'm sure she could tell I was overwhelmed. I already researched their speciality donuts, which are rotated weekly. Check their FB page for a list of speciality options as their Instagram isn't updated as much. I opted for four blueberry lemon ice box. The flavors of blueberries and lemon just compliment each other so well and I don't particularly like blueberries, but this was phenomenal. I got two banana dulce de leche trifle. The best way I can describe this is the custard inside the donut is one of the best banana pudding custards I've ever had and for it to be inside a donut...drool. Super addicting. I also ordered the Easter box, chocolate samoa (both off their speciality menu). Which I have yet to try. The cinnamon roll, vanilla sprinkle time, classic cinnamon and classic vanilla have yet to be tried as well. The later two include a mini donut roll on top. People might think $30 for a dozen is too much to spend. Take in the fact of the freshness, ginormous size, deliciousness and amazing customer service, and it's easy to say why DG deserves what they charge! I learned about them through my wife who learned about them through coworkers who constantly brought them in before everyone started working from home. Glad we finally went to their shop inside the gas station because these are definitely up for best doughnuts in town. This ain't no chain donut place where the donuts are cheap and you need 2-3 of them (and yes I spell donuts both ways).
