A great hangout if you are on campus of CSUDH! We were early to see a concert, so we went to grab a bite to eat and some beers. Check when going there in May since it is near the end of the school year. Bottled beer selection might be limited to what is on hand. Burgers are juicy with a choice of fries or salad. We got the breakfast stout beer. It is great service! We almost got a second meal for free by mistake. I hope they give it to a starving student. read more

While the food is very good, it may be wise for the staff to not give me more than I ordered. For example, today I was given an extra chicken tender and the last time I came in I was given celery sticks. These were not items that I paid for, yet they were basically given to me for free. Why is this a problem? While I understand that California has -- since the presidency of George H.W. Bush -- been a state that sides with socialistic policies, unfortunately these socialiatic policies have not end up going well during the Newsom Administration. That is: Newsom made $16 million in budget cuts in June, which has limited funding for various services at ALL California State University schools. Some of these budget cuts were made toward the athletic department and employment opportunities for students. The latter clearly impacts this business. As someone who has routinely been retaliated against for being a capitalist (a fiscal conservative), I simply do not like the idea of receiving "free" food ("socialism works until you run out of someone else's money"), particularly when I was forced to leave my last job due to my political opinions and am therefore limited in my ability to contribute to the free market. Furthermore, when one considers the budget cuts that have taken place for CSU schools, it would be wise to not waste food regularly, as doing this will potentially cost the employees of this business their jobs. For me personally, when I have been lectured at time and time again that Californian females want to be "taken care of" by either the government or a wealthy man, I refuse to receive "free" food that I did not pay for with money that was earned in the private sector by me, myself, and I (if you will). In other words, free handouts will hurt this business in the long run. If this business is providing me with "free" food due to a sexual interest, then this is also socialistic. read more

Ahh...CSUDH....gotta love this college! Before or after classes, it's so fun going to this place if you want something to drink or eat! My only complaints is that the stools can be pretty uncomfortable, but I understand because our Governator doesn't give a crap about our school. As for the food...man...I have to say that it's actually REALLY GREAT! The service here is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than National's in Torrance. Back to the food...I was really surprised at how tasty the food here is. I usually get the lemon pepper wings. At times, there are specials...I recently went when they had something like a dozen wings for like $3 for a whole week! The burgers and sandwiches are sooo good and so are their fries! The atmosphere's pretty chill....there are Hi-Def TV's all around! The vibe of the people that come here is usually pretty cool and laid-back with no drama....no gangs, no skinheads, nothing like that at all. I loved going here between classes during grad school. I would also watch the L.A. Kings play and also watch the Premier League Football matches. The staff were very friendly. My favorite beer (Kostritzer) was sold here for a while last year. The first time I ordered it, the manager asked "Man, how did you know about that one?!" I replied, "Because I'm German!" As I went back for my last semester, I noticed to my dismay that they did not carry Kostritzer anymore. Waahh Waahh waaahhhhh. Since I love dark beers, and they did not carry Guinness either, I went with a Murphy's Stout. I was pleasantly surprised. It was a good, heavy, chewy taste. I also noticed that they carried Boddington's Ale. I had to tell the server how to pour it since she never heard of it before. I told her (a little too late) that there was a nitrogen widget in the can that helps to add a little foam head. She completely foamed the entire pint and I waited a good 10 minutes for the glass to settle. She was apologetic and I gave her a smile letting her know that there were no hard feelings. I can't complain about the food here either. Their plates are large in size with portions to match. ONe time I ordered their sliders and left almost in pain because they were filling. I used to hang here with my friends before and between classes. I miss them. We are all teachers now. Good chats, gripes and bitch sessions, collaborations, and memories were made here. For being a campus lounge...this place isn't too bad. rotating beers on tap, depending on when they run out of their current kegs. A lot of variety in bottles/cans as well. You would assume that the staff is just students working their way through campus, but they actually know how to give pretty good recommendations. I've had a couple of those recommendations and I've like each beer I've been given. I've had a couple of items on the menu and the food quality is pretty decent. Variety and it comes out hot and quick. No complaints there, my goal is to try more off the menu. The staff is super nice! I've had multiple of them helping me and they are pretty friendly and quick. After hearing that my school campus has a SPORTS BAR, I was ecstatic! I had to check it out! So I did, and it definitely has a sports bar vibe: I forgot I was at school for a second. There are several unique and good beers on tap as well as TVs playing the current games. I would come in here to relax sometimes. The menu looked intriguing so I decided to try the food one day. First of all the bartender was very rude and did not know what she was doing. I told her my order and asked for a Bloody Mary and it took her forever to make it (for reasons unknown) even thought it was premade! She even forgot the celery stick and one of her coworkers reminded her! Unfortunately, the Bloody Mary was disgusting and terrible (for lack of a better word) and was honestly the worst Bloody Mary I've ever had. They should take it off the menu. Huge disappointment. I ordered the brussel spouts appetizer and they weren't even cooked or grilled all the way and were pretty much tasteless. I literally wasted my $. In the future, I will stick to beer and I might (MIGHT) explore the menu further... read more

Is this even allowed???? A nice fat bar at school?? INSIDE SCHOOL???? Well it might be under the radar of bureaucracy so let's not draw attention to it, ok?? This place is cool. Way cool. Blue Moon on tap along with a bunch of others, and decent bar food. Even their own house brew! The sliders are actually pretty good, as well as the various sandwiches and burgers. You can even phone in your order ahead of time if you are that unspontaneously organized! They have specials sometimes, check those out too and see if there is anything interesting. This place is kept quite clean and there's a nice little patio area outside if the weather is right. The servers are usually pretty friendly and helpful, and the service is acceptably speedy. Luckily CSUDH isn't overly crowded at any given time, so this place doesn't get too slammed. It can get a little packed, but if you wait a bit you can usually get a table pretty easily. All I can say is that either after class, or even better yet, instead of class, you can waltz right in here and get smashed...all without having to deal with the hassle of driving somewhere, parking, waiting, etc. etc. etc. And the prices are quite decent, which makes it even better! One time we had a pretty healthy Corona session at 11am after one canceled class and before another, and six of us went into class after that. I'm pretty sure the professor knew, but it was funny nonetheless. LOL I still haven't been successful in getting any of my professors to down any alcohol here yet while hanging out and chit chatting...but I keep trying. I will succeed sooner or later! I didn't even know how awesome the CSUDH sports bar was until I came here 2 weeks straight with classmates. After becoming incredibly bored all of the other food options on campus (Subway, Panda, CSUDH -To-Go, Tacobell, A&W, and the one not many go to is the 1910 restaurant) the sports bar is the way to go. The food here is a bit more expensive but its quite tasty! I usually get the fish burrito which comes out awesome every time. Although I wish it came with more Guacamole. That stuff is pretty good here (because it has a stronger lime taste. Hits me in a good spot). Beer and wine by the glass( tax included) Bottled beer domestic 3.50 Bottled beer import 4.75/6.00 Import and craft draft beers 5.00 14 oz/ 7.00 for 22oz. Wine by the glass 5.00 Some of their wines change but I normally get some Leininkugal which always hit the spot since I like sweet beers. Portions are nicely sized and are a bit more expensive than you'd think (Prob another .75 - $1 more). Sometimes they play soccer games and that shit gets crazy in here. I'm sorry but having a bar on campus is probably the best thing ever. Would you rather study in a stuffy library with a coffee or on the beautiful outdoor patio with an ice cold brew? Exactly. Case closed. This bar makes meeting for group projects actually enjoyable- they have a nice menu with the basics- wings, fries, burgers... Bar food. The real star of the show is their draft & bottle list. They have some seriously good beer on draft, no wimpy coors light or watered down Budweiser. It's all from well known as well as some local craft brewers and I 100% approve! The whole staff is super sweet and are for the most part also students at CSUDH- there are large TVs playing all the hot games- clippers, Kings, Dodgers. Only place inside this campus where I will grab food since it actually taste edible vs those other places to eat on campus. Service varies sometimes they are very helpful and other times not so much. Food is pretty decent. I really liked the thai lettuce wraps and even though its considered an appetizer it gets me full. I have also tasted some of the burgers which are not that bad. Located on the campus of California State University of Dominguez Hills. In the building which is shared/connected with Subways, Dragon Express, Taco Bell, Bookstore, etc. Interior - Designed with a bar-like setting. There are tables and there are stools where you may sit near the counter. (They have some seats outside) The walls are decorated with the soccer player's jerseys and portraits. There are about 3 televisions and usually have some sport event on. Also, a cool thing was that they used 6 pack bottles of beer containers as sauce holders. Food - Not bad. Not bad at all. Probably the best place to eat inside this campus. I've only been here twice, since I was starving. I'd prefer food elsewhere. But hey. Hm. I've tried the burrito which consisted of steak, lettuce, and the usual. Also, I've had the pulled pork sandwich which came with fries and coleslaw. They usually have the specials for today posted outside before entering. So take some time to look at that. Customer Service - Honestly, it varies. Sometimes it can take couple of minutes. And sometimes it can take even 20. It depends on how busy it is. Some of the employees are helpful while the others are not. After ordering, you will be given a receipt. Your food will be ready at a warm rack to the end of the counter. Overall, not a bad place to grab some grub on the campus. Their menu is not too big nor too small. First of all....Blue Moon on Tap makes me happy. Second...the people who work there are nice. Third...if you get there early, before the Happy Hour rushes...you'll get faster service. The swordfish sandwich and BBQ pork sandwich specials have been excellent. This place is a fantastic spot to go, especially for us students! It's a spot to grab a bite and a pint between class or after exams to celebrate. There are always fun people inside, and special events like karaoke make the night exciting. They have daily food specials that change and are always delicious, you get your variety here. (Check for happy hour guys!) Beer! The beer choices are always rotating and there are always a few wonderful local beers to choose from. Draft & bottle selection is diverse, so you can find what you're looking for here. Staff... They're wonderful! A happy, quick, lively mix of wonderful people and they're all fantastic. It is pretty cool and convenient having a bar/lounge on campus with some great beers on tap. I find the food here decent. The chicken sandwich, chips and guacamole and pita bread were ok. DH is a good place to grab a beer. Its always nice to grab a beer before or after class, especially during midterms and finals. Everyone's behind the bar is very helpful and friendly, and the rotating tap beers are the best part about it.
