My general rule of thumb is waiting until at least my third visit before giving a rating so that I can make sure it's fair. Everyone here is very kind and friendly, parking is super easy even though it's a busy Shopping Center which is a huge Plus. I've had a full set of nails, and two fills so far and have absolutely nothing bad to say about the quality of work or the salon itself. Both of the nail techs that I had we're quick efficient and meticulous. Prices are reasonable and comparable to other salons on the island. I hope more people start giving reviews because this place definitely deserves higher ratings! read more

First time on this nail salon and it was Ok. I just learned this salon from here too in Yelp. I saw it it was only 3 stars but i gave it a try coz ppl are different. And i guess some reviews were right thats why im sharing what i experienced. First, the materials they used are awful. I was expecting the tools that they use supposed to be strerile and in pack. But it wasnt. So disgusting! The towels are overused with stains! The nail colors arent saying the true colors!!! I dont know what brand of nail gel polish are they using. So generic and no class at all! I had mani gel polish and it came out ok. Hope theyll last long for i had 4 coats on this. Lol its because the have a poor product, its so liquidy thats why they need to apply 4x. I had a deluxe pedi, i wasnt impressed and satisfied on the cleaning of my toes. It really doesnt like its really clean and newly done. BUT i like the massage. Thats the stars coming from the massage and the friendliness of the staffs. I got the gel mani and deluxe pedi for $65 . I gave $10 tip and $3.+ tax so i paid total of $78+ I dont think its worth it. I hope they will consider and will be more careful on the materials they use. They shld sterilized the tools theyre using. One sterile pack in a customer. And also for their products. Be more specific and dont fool your customers on the colors of your polish. Yesterday I really was in need to get a gel manicure because the gel that I had on was starting to lift and look so ugly due to it being about 3 weeks old. I finish work at 4:30 and didn't want to sit in traffic to go to my regular nail salon near Ala Moana. So, I turned to Yelp to help me. Diamond Nails is about a 5 minute drive from my working place and I was skeptical due to the wide range of reviews but I decided to try it out. I arrived around 4:40 and was greeted immediately and taken in immediately. I forgot the woman who did my nails (I think it started with a K and sat in the upper right hand corner). She was very nice and very helpful with choosing colors. The thing I absolutely loved about her is that she took her time removing the current gel (it didn't hurt--yay) and she took her time shaping my nails and matching it to the other hand. YES GIRL! The salon is fairly clean with friendly people working there. While I was about half way through my manicure, a mom and daughter came in, the daughter was very tired and was falling asleep. I loved how patient her nail tech was and the other workers were so gentle and friendly with the little girl! When my manicure was done, it was about 6-ish and that's when it started to get a little crowded, so I guess I would suggest to come in a little earlier and not close to their closing time. I'm highly satisfied with the service I got. It's only been a day since I got my manicure and there's no chipping and lifting so that's a good sign. Though there are "better" salons that I rather go to, but after my first impression with Diamond Nails, I will absolutely come back again. I was staying in a hotel while waiting for base housing. I needed to get the nails done. Found Diamond Nails in walking distance. Christy did my nails. I said to her I would like a pink and white gel fill. She offered for a darker pink so I said ok. She never removed the pink or the white. She only did by my cuticles.....then instead of putting white powder she put gel white polish. So needle to say I wasn't happy will NEVER go back. I went this past Saturday afternoon to get my nails done and was looking forward to gel nails because they are supposed to last "3-4weeks" well it is not Wednesday and already 2 of my nails are chipping & almost all of them are flimsy so they kinda just feel like i got a regular Mani with a gel polish price tag! What makes it even more annoying is that my cuticles are starting to peel which obviously hurt but this is the first time since I have been getting mani and pedi that my cuticles are peeling. I was also annoyed during my appointment because I was spending 70 plus on a French gel mani and regular pedi but felt rushed & was never asked if I wanted designs or eyebrows waxed. It is now the 4th day of gel nails & I already have to plan on shelling out more $ just to get them filled in! Should've just gotten a regular mani like always. All in all, it was horrible service with horrible results. Next time, if there is one, I will ask for a female manicurist, seeing as though it was an older gentleman that did mine & clearly didn't have the patience to do so. read more

This review covers 3 technicians on 4 visits (3 on my own, 1 with a friend and my husband) Customer Service: I've had 3 different nail technicians on 4 different occasions. I am a HUGE fan of two of them: Kay and a sweet lady whose name I did not catch, she sits in the opposite front corner from Kay's station. Quality: I've gotten three different gel manicures from them: the shortest lasting one making it 1.5 weeks the longest lasting almost 3 weeks! As far as design - I get what I ask for every time, no problem. Most importantly, I am comfortable here. It is a nice establishment where I don't feel pressure to get something that I don't want. For the price? You can't beat it! I deducted one star because the third technician was nothing special. My husband got a pedicure from her (his first, hah!) on a different visit - he enjoyed the pedicure but kept looking to me for direction from across the room. She didn't seem comfortable chatting, didn't explain to him when she was done - just got up and left him in the chair. 6/27/17. I came in for a pedi and full set. Signed the clipboard and sat down. Note: no one was sitting at the front desk But there was a nail tech seated up front with clear view of the front door. She looks up, makes eye contact with me, says nothing. So I sit quietly and observed her greeting everyone else that walked in. Her and one other male tech walked up to the front and talked to other customers there. Then they took their next client. By this time 20 + minutes has passed and I'd seen enough, I WALKED OUT. When I got the the parking lot, I turned around and again made eye contact with that same tech that ignored me earlier, she's practically begging me to come back inside and that she will help me. This is my usual go-to for a pedicure (ask for Tom, you'll thank me later). But today I went to get my nails done for an event. I took a picture of what I wanted--cute floral detailing that was going to require hand painting. My tech did an awesome job shaping and getting my nails looking fab with gel polish but had some trouble getting the design just right. Instead of just giving me a half effort job/not what I wanted, she asked another tech to help out. The second tech did beautifully and I love the way my nails look. This review is based solely on my experience today only. I was SUPER stoked when I saw that this was the same owners of the Diamond Nails that was my go to spot in Kailua for years. My last visit here was awesome. Didn't get the techs name but she was in the first chair as you walk into the service area. I walk in today and even though there were other people waiting the young girl at the counter said I could be seen right away. That should've been the first indicator that I wasn't exactly gonna be helped by someone on their A Squad. But since all I needed was a boogie nights fill and to replace one broken thumb nail I figured it couldn't be too hard. The tech was the last chair on the right, before the wall that separates the nail area from the pedi chairs. Dude was a little abrupt, but whatevs- I'm not trying to be his friend. He hands be their samples of boogie nights and says to pick which one I already had. I asked for his suggestion- he does this for a living, I don't. He tells me which he thinks matches and I said "ok, I'm not going to be picky". Now, I said that about the color being an exact match. It seems like dude took that to mean the whole service! It was fast. As much as j appreciate that, it also means that it was poorly done. Yes, my nails are filled and I was done in less than 30 minutes. BUT in 20 years of getting my nails done this is the ONE and ONLY time they were not sponge sanded and buffed before the top coat was applied. I even asked the dude "uh, so what? They don't have to be sponge sanded or buffed?" He tells me no! What the whaaaaat?? He also did not ask me what shape I wanted the tips nor did he even attempt to match my replaced nail shape to its counterpart. So I'm sitting there running my fingertips over the nails and they're pretty rough. This is why when you build something you go from coarse sandpaper and gradually work your way down to a finer grit. I guess I looked pretty dam confused because he picks up my hand and rubs them too and says "they feel fine". WTF dude?? How the eff can you tell that while you're wearing latex gloves!?!? At the cashier he tells me that he didn't charge me for the fix, just the fill. Gee thanks? The maybe$8 that saved me can be put to me having a real nail tech fix your sloppy handiwork tomorrow for probably three times that amount. I'm soooooo grateful. Give me a dam break... read more

I go here because it's conveniently located for me. But the service is not that great honestly. I always find something wrong with the final result. Sometimes when I get an appointment and show up on time I still have to wait in line like a walk in which doesn't make sense. It has taken me a while to write this since I was so upset. On Super Bowl Sunday, my daughter and I went to Diamond Nails to get mani/pedis. We had to wait for almost an hour since they were short staffed and a little busy. Our pedi part was pretty good. I told them to skip the mani part for my daughter and just polish her nail. I continued with my mani. Before putting on the color, I went to pay. When I was told the total, I looked at the price chart and asked how old a child was. I was told that it was 10 and under. My daughter is 10. I told them that she was and then they said..."and height". I was confused by this. They said it was based on age and height. I then said "so if she was shorter it would be okay?" ...my daughter is 5'3". I then asked for the manager and then she said it's like the fair...I told her that the height for the fair was a safety issue. She then asked for an ID for her. She's 10, she doesn't have one. Her school ID was at home. I told them that their policy was not right. While finishing up my nails, the receptionist gave me back $4. It wasn't the price, but the principle. The worst thing...I've been going there off and on for over 15 years.....I do think they are going downhill....maybe they have new management??? Don't think I'll be going back there any time soon. read more

This was first time going I usually go to nail tek but after sitting there for 15min I walked out and found Diamond I was seen right away. My eyebrows hadn't been touch for about a month and after she was done they looked amazing. I have a lot of little hairs on my eye brows she was able to get all of them. Usually the salons leave them because they are so small but this place spent the time to get them out. I will be going back!! read more

I give it one star because they accept walk ins! I just paid 28 dollars for a fill and one nail fix for my daughter. The "receptionist" sits in a chair like a client and plays on a phone, when someone came up he stood behind the counter and looked at them. HE SAID NOTHING! I was given a gift certificate for 1 Spa Pedicure by a friend in 2003 for this location, Being a guy, I took the hint and started trying to take care of it myself better, until after a while,,,, almost 11 years! I finally decided that I would make time the next time I was in the Salt Lake area to use the certificate. I was in the neighborhood on a Saturday morning and decided to use my certificate. Although it was busy, I was seated immediately for a comfortable foot bath/soaking while the electronic Massage started inside the chair. Super nice treatment for a great start. The girl was very nice, and polite although it's kind of embarrassing for us guy's, she did a fantastic job. My feet and toes never looked better. The Lady they referred to as the "Owner", a very well dressed and pretty woman, spoke to me about the age of the gift certificate, and decided to honor it although it should have expired. This place SUCKS!!! I went in and got a fill and a pedi. Supposed to be special for 36 dollars . But since I have gel and got a delux pedi I was charged $65!! When I questioned the dude he got an attuidue with me and started talking another language to someone else. FOR REALS DUDE!!! 36+5 (for gel)+10 (for delux pedi) is 51... And my nails look like crap. I don't normally take the time to write a review, but today's experience was horrible!! I don't usually go to Diamond Nails, since it's always crowded, but I was out running errands and I stopped in. Worst decision ever..... Mimi (her name was on the receipt) barely greeted me. She asked what she could help me with, I said a would like a pedi please...she said ok, and walked away! I assumed I was suppose to sigh in, so I did, and just stood there because I wasn't told to follow her. Another associate was sitting in a chair in the front, and says "oh you can follow her". So I did, I see her filling the bath up and yells from the other side of the room, pick a color. So I did, and walked over to the chair. Water was a good temp. She starts removing my nail polish, and says, just normal pedi today? I wasn't sure what "normal" included so I just said yes. This is where I really should have got up and left!! She starts cutting my nails down and cutting my cuticles...she was so rough, that 3 of my toes (2 on my right, one on my left) start bleeding!! I really should have spoken up, but sometimes techs by accident nick you. She doesn't even acknowledge she hurt me. Then she starts filing my skin!! She sees I'm bleeding and says "you have sensitive skin huh?" "Ummm...no. You are rough on my feet". Nothing, not even an "I'm sorry". Then she doesn't even massage my legs, more like she rubbed lotion in and that was it...then rinsed my feet with ICE COLD WATER!!!! And the polish, the worst job ever!! I can do better than what she did! Luckily I choose a dark color, so it's not as noticeable. She barely let me sit in the chair to let them dry before she came over, put my sandals back on, and lifted the arm of the chair for me to get out. I was in and out in probably 15 mins...most decent pedis last anywhere from 25-30 mins!! And that 15 mins is including signing in, picking a color, and paying. This is the worst pampering expirence I ever had. I had an older asian lady and the manager do my nails. First the older asian lady started my pedicure I wanted and fade, she didnt listen and put solid color, I was mad but let it go. So I went to get my finger nails done and the older asian lady started my nails....she completely did not do what I asked for and when I told her to stop she kept saying she would fix it, she made it worse so then the boss or manager came to finish my nails. He was the most ruddest manager i ever encountered!!!!!! He did fix my nails, but the whole time, he was man handling my nails and was being very rough! He was lucky I didnt bleed, otherwise I would sue!!!! On top of everything I was trying my best to be respectful and calm, but in return he was very rude! And he insisted I had to pay full price for my pedicure and nails!!!!!! I do NOT recomend this nail shop! The only reason I went is because I live down the street.
