I'm a little late to the party on this but so glad I was able to experience it this past weekend for a 75th bday celebration. What looks like an unassuming store front among all the other businesses is actually set up to be a place you could commemorate your next big milestone. While the actual space was on the smaller intimate side, Max Capacity is 120 guests-- so you can still have a good amount of folks for a party. Did I mention it includes a red carpet? It was rolled out for all of us upon entering and added that extra bit of glamour to match the occasion. Once inside, I appreciated the white walls and black drapes. There were multiple TV screens thoughtfully placed on the walls to showcase the celebrant. Later on, these same TV screens were used to present a slideshow of the birthday gal. Uplighting was laid out on the ground to lend to the atmosphere. In the middle was a mini stage that could be used for anything from performances to a DJ. The backlit black drapery behind the stage also gave cabaret vibes. From the looks of it, you could opt to bring your own catered food and also use their in house catering. For this specific party, they had both. The star of the food was their baked chicken-- It was tasty and fork tender. If I had to be nitpicky, the bathroom air freshener scent was off-putting. I couldn't wait to get out of there and switched to mouth breathing immediately. Other than that, this is definitely a place to consider for your next event.

Lobster had a kick but also came out lukewarm and looked overcooked. I certainly hope nobody goes home with issues due to time temperature abuse. The servers were friendly but not always attentive to empty dishes and water level of the pitcher until the latter part of the evening. It's too bad that the food temps didn't match the the ambiance of the Hall, otherwise Maji would've easily gotten 5 stars. And so we had to try and cover as much as we could with our own decorations. (Kind of wish they would repaint it) Other than that the owner is very helpful and accommodating. They have their own vendors as well for certain things but we opted out for that. Plenty of space in the back for parking or a jumper for the kids.

Angela is the event coordinator was thorough, sincere me, organized, punctual, and very accommodating. I felt at ease and comfortable the moment I met her. When I saw the space, it looked like a general banquet room, nothing spectacular however, I was proven wrong when the decorations, chairs, and lighting transformed this room into a beautiful place for my 2 friends to get married. My friends decided to have the ceremony there as well as the reception. Scottish Rite Center pretty much supplied us w/ everything for the guests' dining experience: plates, utensils, holding trays, glasses, champagne glasses, pitchers, ice - basically everything you might need to serve over 200 guests, this place has it. My friend had a vision of where things should go and etc. but thanks to Angela's advices, suggestions.. my friend used her expertise to finalize the big day. My friend did not need to hire servers or dishwashers... Angela coordinated everything w/ her staff so that everything from refilling the water to serving the eclairs were prompt, never leaving the guests asking for additional requests. We used the kitchen to prep and to hold the food and beverages. Security staff were all friendly and very strict even though my friend's sister's husband followed me to the car to retrieve their belongings. He was just carrying a cup of ice water and they wouldn't even allow him to take it w/ him. But my overall interaction w/ the security guys were positive. Slowly towards the end time, Angela and her staff worked tirelessly to store the leftovers and to clean here and there w/o giving any impression that we were rushed. I majored in hospitality so what I witnessed was a positive experience. Not only Angela was there on the day of, she was basically the server, busser, janitorial; everything. There were no hiccups at all. I can't say no hiccups w/in our bridal party. Our ring bearer dropped the rings so my partner to walk down the aisle left me to scramble to find the rings. Success! The rings were found! He hurried back and we made our grand entrance. After we parted, I waited w/ the other bridesmaids and started crying when Christina, my best friend walked in. The music changed... it is happening. The memories of taking her to Fuddruckers after her now ex cheated on her came back to me. The memories of her helping me w/ Gavin came to mind. Seriously. This girl changed her work schedule just so I can finish my semester. Not just her but the groom were always there for me w/o physically being there for me, even when I was MIA. They listened to me and they advised me as well. All their assumptions w/ my love life was right.... they need to meet and approved the next guy, haha. All jokes aside... 2 great individuals marrying each other was awesome to witness. I'm honored to be a part of it. It was only yesterday that Christina and I were making peanut butter burgers... her complaining that Enrique will never propose. He sure did. He invited family and friends over - no one knew but he proposed to her in the most romantic way ever. I'm super happy for them. Thank you, Angela! I had a blast doing the cat walk w/ my partner and met some great ass people whom are now my friends. What's next? A BBQ at Enrique planned by Marley and/or deep fried Twinkies w/ the gang. Cannot forget sandwiches dates w/ my best friend.. :)

I made multiple payments throughout the year and trusted that everything was set. Just two and a half weeks before the event, I received a text message from the owner saying he had accidentally double booked my date and was asking if I could move the event to another day. I was completely shocked and devastated. I have family traveling from Mexico and Los Angeles, and I've already paid for the caterer, DJ, decorator, cake, and photographer. When you plan an event like this almost a year in advance, it's not something you can just change last minute. He offered to refund my money or try to find another venue, but how could I trust him again after such a huge mistake? I had no choice but to start over and look for another place, which means paying extra fees, delivery charges, and the inconvenience of relocating everything to Gilroy. Because of this, my daughter will no longer have her church ceremony, and that breaks my heart. This experience has been stressful, costly, and deeply disappointing. I do not recommend doing business with this person or this venue. They were unprofessional, careless, and completely unreliable with something so important. He doesn't even deserve the 1 star !!!
