My review is based on take out. I ordered the Pasta Combination of spaghetti, lasagna, and cheese ravioli. It was delicious. Spaghetti is never worth mentioning as most places make it okay. The lasagna and the cheese ravioli, sometimes I didn't know which I was eating as the container kind of mixed them together, was quite good. Less sauce and more Parmesan. The side salad was tasty. Not huge. The bread used to be killer delicious, but it wasn't. What happened? Overall, I would order the combo again. read more

I thought I knew what a Margherita pizza was. Tomato sauce, mozzarella, tomatoes and basil, right?? Apparently at Di Cicco's it means white sauce, mozzarella, blue cheese, and tomatoes. Super weird. CRUMMY SERVICE BY HOSTESS It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I have been a customer of diciccos for over 4o years. I even worked there. Ordered pick up. Arrived right about on time. The snotty little girl at the hostess area took my money and then split. She came back and took payments for several other customers. Broke a 20 for a server. Ran some tape through the register. Answered calls. Talked a man about Marco just leaving.. then she split again. After about 1o minutes of waiting I leaned over the counter and saw that my food had been sitting there getting cold the whole time. A different hostess arrived and I said is my food ready? The snotty hostess rushed in and the other one asked her if my food was ready to which the snotty hostess said with an attitude yes and she was busy getting bread and then she gave me a look. Snotty hostess and I had a stare down for a moment while she stood there with my bread in her hand. Her jaw was dropped like how dare I ask for my food. She was rude a hell. Sad. I paid for hot food. Not Luke warm food because of some tween who wanted to do other stuff other than just hand me a bag. Disappointing service Marco. You guys are better than this. If that girl cant handle a fast paced environment give her a participation trophy and a different job. read more

Very good food. It is a bit run down in the lobby but was very pleased with the canneloni. Our service was a bit spotty with drink refills and I had to grab my own fork from another table. Ate with a large group and everyone liked the food. Very reasonable prices. The house Italian salad dressing is very tasty as well. Our check was wrong and they had charged us for two bottles of wine instead of 2 glasses. Overall the food is excellent, the service is so so. read more

I use to love Dicicco's, I used to get calzones there all the time. But a couple of nights ago I ordered a pizza and had it delivered. It was absolutely gross, my dogs wouldn't even eat it. That's really sad, that they went downhill like that. Sad to say I won't be eating there anymore. read more

Order a party tray of chicken fettuccine Alfredo at 4:30pm when I picked it up at 5:50pm & got home it was super salty I called back & asked if we could get a new tray & they told us no because they were out of the fettuccine pasta when asked if I could get a different pasta they said that they had run out of key ingredients. & they also said they weren't taking no more orders for the night it was only 6pm & they close at 9:30pm. I was stuck figuring out what to feed my guest since Diciccos couldn't find a solution to the problem. When asked for a refund they told me I had to take the tray back & once in the store the 2 lady's in the front desk weren't even helpful at all. I have come to this particular DiCicco's many, many times over the past 20+ years here in Madera. The last 3-4 times that I've come, I've been disappointed with the customer service, the food, and the changes that have occurred. I understand that cities like the residents to shop locally, but it's hard when you don't feel like your money and patronage is appreciated. Workers don't greet you the way you expect, or in return when you greet them, they don't have the best communication skills, there are no happy faces, when explaining changes, they do it with attitude. I won't go in to detail about the last 3-4 disappointments, and after all of those, I said I would not return, but I did, because my family wanted it, so I gave in. Tonight, we ordered, again, an abundance of food, to feed 6, including teenagers, and got the bread with our spaghetti. We received practically 2 loaves, my husband asked for butter, 3 individual (very small) butters were given to him. I went back in when my husband came out with the food, and asked for more butter. I was told that they now only give 3, regardless of the amount of bread you get, and now charge $0.10 for each additional butter. I asked how long this has been in effect, I was told "for at least half a year". Our last trip to DiCicco's was prob 2-3 months ago, and we received enough butter for 2-3 loaves of bread. So again, I've decided that we will NOT be returning to this DiCicco's. In Fresno, they are much friendlier and appreciate your business. So if we want DiCicco's again, we will take the trip to Fresno. One star was given because I could not leave my feedback without at least one. read more

They were an hour late, once the delivery arrived I recognise some of our meals was missing so I tried to contact the company multiple times and they would not answer until 10 o'clock after the restaurant was closed. I have avoided this place since my last post, we would dine in twice a month for years and order take out our delivery. The quality of food and service had slowly gone down. With that being said we got a gift card for here for Christmas and so we called in an order for delivery, it was on a Friday night so I figured it would be a long wait like in the past about an hour, but wait a minute they said 30 to 40 minutes! what was I hearing ok lets see I told my wife, well about 40 minutes go by and ding dong its here, and its the right order, and the food was spot on fresh and good like the good old days when Tony and Marco were running things. This left me with hope they turned things around. I really hope so, they are a long time place in Madera and as a kid it was my family's place to go to eat. I will up date as needed and hopefully I will ve able to give them that 5th star. read more

I do not want to leave a bad review but come on the food is nothing special, almost a disgrace to call it Italian food. When you eat Italian food and pizza you expect some good flavors and ingredients. I can say this about the food I have ordered and the pizza I tried once all were not the greatest. First major turnoff for me was the sausage on the pizza pie I picked it all off the pizza after the first bite and threw it away, the dough was a bit soft/soggy as well. I have tried a few different pasta dishes with nothing special to point out, other than the dishes I did order being bland and a bit greasy. I so wish they did make good food because the abundance of Mexican food in Madera is great but the other types of food offered here in Madera there is not many that are enjoyable to eat or eat at. Diciccos does deliver and I have not had a bad experience with anything other than the food. This Diciccos location can use some major updating, the restaurant is very dated inside and out. I just experienced the worst pizza! I ordered the Diciccos special and I was very disappointed with the quality! The crust was stale and it seemed like it was made yesterday and just warmed up for my order, which is probably not true but that's how it tasted. Diciccos used to be my favorite pizza with their signature crust, now they are on the bottom of my list. Being this is Madera we don't have a big selection of restaurants but Dicicco is excellent food. That being said the only flaw is their delivery my order is always missing a side .I always order a calzone with a side of alfredo sauce this is the 5th time they forgot a sauce I even ask please to remind them about the sauce the lady on phone said they would not forget sauce guess what they forgot red sauce this time. I still stay loyal to this restaurant even though I am never compensated for their mistakes I sit here again waiting for driver to come back I know my food will be cold by then but what is one to do with no big variety of restaurants. One of the best restaurants in town! Great service, friendly staff. They also deliver if you'd rather stay home. My favorite plate for dinner is the gnocchi with pesto or alfredo and my favorite for lunch is the pesto chicken sandwich, but everything there is delicious! Oh and bread is amazing! read more

Went for a friend's 50th b-day surprise party and was in a small banquet room in the back. Bright and cheery compared to the dark cave-like dining room. I wish we lived closer to Madera just so we could come here for dinner the food and the service are fantastic. I had the original calzoni and it was so yummy. My husband, the Italian snob said it was probably the best restaurant pasta he has had (he had the rigatoni). The bread is nice and soft as is the butter so you can easily spread it on. They have decent wine and every person even the staffing not waiting on us asked us if they could get us anything when they passed by. The owner even asked us twice and talked to us for a little bit. I can't even remember the last time I had such terrible service. I ordered 2 calzones and a cheesecake as a mid-week treat for my fiancé and figured since we were both tired, we'd have it delivered. For reference, I live 5 minutes away from the restaurant. An hour and a half goes by and we're both starving so I called the restaurant to see if the delivery guy got lost. So the girl on the phone was about to take my info and call the delivery guys but I could hear another hostess/server talking to her saying "it'll be there" and she gets back on the phone with me saying, "I'll be there shortly." I'm sorry, do we live in the Stone Age? We have cell phones, so we can text or call the driver and ask where they are. So all of a sudden, 5 minutes after the phone call my food shows up- soggy and cold! I have a feeling they just made the food and let it sit under a heat lamp for an hour until I called and they remembered I existed. On top of all that- they forgot to put my cheesecake on with the order and were already closed when I called to complain. This restaurant suuuuucks when it comes to service. And the food, frankly, is not good enough to deal with the terrible delivery service. And when I asked around, I heard a ton of people have been having the same delivery issues. If there was an option to give no stars, I would have done that. read more

A Madera staple from the valley chain of restaurants that's been around for years and continues to stick around. I'm not sure if particular locations have different recipes but the Madera one chooses to meddle in mediocrity when it comes to "Italian" recipes. A Halfway decent wine list makes up for the fact most of the sauce (which is used in almost everything) is rather bland, tasting like canned tomato sauce u would get at any 99 cent store with a touch of basic seasonings. My salad "dressing" was basically water with a touch of oil nd herbs. Whoever invented Italian dressing would roll over in their grave seeing the abomination they (quite liberally) splashed over my lettuce. However despite all that I must say the bread they rewarm nice, and the minestrone hits the nail on the head. Compared to other (more authentic) Italian restaurants in this town, the price makes it worth it to most people. Check it out for yourself without stepping in, as they do deliver. Also it's the 29th and they still playing Christmas music, need to change that CD already no one wants to hear that. read more

We ordered take out last night from this location! We ended up spending 48$ on a pizza, fresh spaghetti w mushroom sauce, cheese sticks, clam chowder, and a piece of tiramisu! Everything tasted very average! My fresh pasta was not good at all. The pasta itself wasn't bad but their sauce is terrible and the mushrooms were canned! The tiramisu was frozen! The cheese sticks tasted like they got them out of the frozen food aisle at Savemart! For 50$ I could have eaten at a ton of other places that had a much better quality of food! Very disappointing experience! Won't be back until I forget how bad the food is! read more

I am now a happy fan of Madera's DiCicco's! My hubby and I came here weekly for several months this summer... it was clean and dust-free... the food was very good... the Bread was served warm each time... and, the waitresses were friendly and attentive. The Eggplant Parmesan is consistent.. tender, without being mushy, and flavorful. The Lasagna with a side order of Meatballs is a fav... Although, a time or two it was served with the Meatballs cut up on top!?? The waitress did offer to send it back, but it wasn't that big of a deal... just odd. We've ordered other items, but they can be a little inconsistent in flavor and in texture. So we stick with what we found WE like... we leave happy... and, with enough for lunch the next day! read more

Nobody has written a review for this place yet? I'm not surprised, they are probably still waiting for their food. I was directed here by a local at the gas station (my first mistake?) when I asked for a decent place to eat in town. The other suggestion was Perko's. It was Madera after all. My waitress also had a large party in the other part of the restaurant so I was a pretty small fish for her. I was very quick in ordering the minestrone soup, chicken wings and grilled chicken salad. The soup came first and was solid. The waitress from another table noticed I needed a refill and helped me out. Then about 15 to 20 minutes went by until the chicken wings came. I am not sure why it took that long, because they certainly did not spend that time cooking them. Two or three of the wings were still cold in the center, having been precooked, frozen and then reheated for me. Oh well, I was hungry and wasn't really thinking about salmonella. The salad deserves its own paragraph. I was not expecting the chicken to still be hot, considering the wings weren't, but it was thrown atop a bed of lettuce with green bell peppers, diced olives and a couple cucumbers while still steaming. The meal continued to spiral downward when the woman at the table next to me started playing her new ring tones for her family. The furnishings, plates, decor, etc were all outdated and tacky. Just an antipasto salad for lunch with house dressing and a generous supply of crumpled blue cheese. Included is their house baked bread with a good flavor. I ordered Lasagna Al Forno, side salad with Italian house dressing, and bread & butter. The lasagna had very little sauce (dry) no sausage/ground beef. The salad dressing was watered down. First of all, All the Diciccos are not the same. Madera Diciccos is the absolute hands down best! Clovis us the worst and I'd recommend that they close down. The food here is good. I enjoy the spicy sauce that they make here! Always get my pasta done alforno. Now here is why 2 stars...I can't remember the last time I have had my food delivered and had it done correctly. I'm serious. It has been years! I always tell myself it will be better this time and then always disappointed. I just ordered lasagna alforno and they didn't do it! Without fail they either forget the bread, give me ranch when I ordered Italian, forget the garlic cheese bread, give me combo calzone instead of pepperoni. It's always something! We had lunch here the other day, friendly staff! Great food, the owner came out and asked how everything was. On our way out he also made it a point to thank us for coming. I was a lil skeptical first walking in a lil run down looking but Restaurant was clean and the restroom was very clean. I dont care how good the food is,if its not clean I wont go back!
