I usually have good experiences, especially since they've honored price matches with their app in the past. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different. After trying on multiple sizes and styles, I finally found the pair I wanted, especially because of the price that was displayed. But when I got to checkout, the price rang up higher. I brought it up, and after checking over the walkie, the cashier said it was likely a wrong insert on the display shoe. I pointed out the San Diego price accuracy sign, and instead of helping, the cashier just giggled and said, "what do you want me to do?" That response felt completely unprofessional. I had been waiting for over 30 minutes for someone to get me baseball socks down. There are three people at registers and I'm baffled how even after I walked over there to the associates and let them know what I needed I still didn't have anyone come over. They supposedly called someone over the walkie but nothing. I have spent thousands of dollars at this store because of baseball for my kids and their other athletics. I go there when ever I see they have a good deal online. But the customer service is bad. Despite being well staffed, they're not entirely helpful. Whenever I ask them about an item I'm looking for, they don't know where or what it is. And they don't keep related items in the same section. Service was terrible when trying to make a return! we went to the Oceanside location on Vista Way and Alicia was condescending and rude when I made a comment about how returning an item shouldn't be as difficult as it was and that it's way easier to return something to target. She commented "we are not target!! "and offered me a two dollar refund for a brand new pair of shorts that still had the price tags attached for $45. We are loyal customers to Dick's Sporting Goods. We have purchased plenty of sports items and clothes over the last year! I was gifted the shorts by a friend! We had no receipt, but the tags were still attached. It shouldn't be that hard to return something with the tag still attached that was purchased and scanned by the item number so at least you can get a store credit in exchange for a refund! It's a new store, well laid out with lots of products. The staff is friendly but there was only one person at checkout and she was pretty slow. They did price match because Walmart had the same item for less. I did find a curious thing. There were all these price signs with a Was and a Now price - both exactly the same price. A new low in customer service! Walked in with a mission to purchase a good quality bicycle helmet. The first clerk, standing near entrance avoided eye contact. The 2nd clerk literally hid behind a box they were carting around and as far as the other clerks go, there was no way to differentiate them from the mannequins because that's how unhelpful they are. Their helmet options are weak. Same styles and brands Walmart carries but cost is $10-$15 higher. They had size XS and Small. Tried using website in-store for different size availability without success. We were just blown away by the sub-zero customer service. This was Friday around 7 p.m. Not many customers and will never consider this store again for any sporting goods needs. Visited this store for some tball accessories. Found pants for my 5 year old. They had many choices for fair prices of well known brands. I bought some cleats which were also at a great price. Only thing was that it seemed there were no employees until finally one came out of the shoe section to help. All other shoppers were also asking each other if there was anyone working. Found some great socks on clearance and it was officially a score. Pants, cleats and socks for less that 40 bucks. I even gave them the credit card number & the date of the transaction proving the warranty was valid. They basically have still claimed they don't have the transaction. Walked in and a nice young gentleman greeted me at the door and right away helped me. He asked what I'm looking for and I told him I'm looking for a Gaiter to cover my face. I described the item and he told where he lives they call it buffs, I think that what he said. I learn something new today. That communication and customer interaction is outstanding. They don't have the color I want so I started looking for the Nike Pro Hyperwarm Hood. To save time I asked this young lady wearing a white t-shirts and asked her if they have the item in question, right away she "I don't think so." Another young man with tattoos asked me if I need help, but he is more interested if I'm stealing something because he never stop and did not made eye contact. It took me another 6 minutes before I found the item myself. I asked for the manager and expressed my disappointment and she apologized and stated that the employee is new. New employee or not if you don't know the answer to a customer query ask a fellow employee to help you. Don't be lazy and do your job properly because time is precious!
