Went to Dig in the Brookfield dining hall for lunch. It wasn't too crowded because it was early, but the crowds do start to build closer to noon. I chose to build my own bowl with kale, chicken thighs, brussel sprouts sweet potato, carrots and pesto sauce. The chicken was juicy, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly and were tasty. Enjoyed the meal as it was good enough to keep me full. The seating is in a food hall so not much but views of the Hudson or people watching. Perfect spot with variety of cuisines. read more

Sunday midday I went to grab some lunch at Brookfield. I was surprised to find no lines. The only server was super helpful. I made my own bowl with 3-choice veggies as base ( cauliflower, chard broccoli, and glazed carrots) & spacey chicken as protein choice. I was surprised at the generous portion. Veggies were nicely prepared, seasoned, & the chicken pieces were tender. The only thing with this type of food is that it's always lukewarm. I would prefer it much warmer. I was in the area and stopped in the Westfield food court. It's been years since i visited and wanted to see what new food spots they had now. Baby when I tell you the food court was packed and the line for Dig was lonnng. i think i waited about 20 minutes before I got to the counter I did see an area where customers were picking up their food from to go orders. This was my first time eating at this spot so I was excited I was starving so everything looked good, lol. I knew I was having a big dessert after lunch so I kept it light. I ordered the kale salad with white beans, chicken and broccoli. I had the garlic sauce on the side which was the only thing I didn't like. My food was delicious. Everything was nicely seasoned and very healthy. The portion sizes seemed good, but my greedy butt was still a little hungry when I finished. Next time I will order some heartier sides like the brown rice or Mac n cheese. I definitely plan on ordering from this restaurant again to check out some other menu items. read more

Food here tastes pretty good. Very fresh ingredients and everything is seasoned well. I always love the Mac and cheese side because it tastes so good and creamy! It's not salty and just right! I really wanted to like Dig, since I usually enjoy meals like these with cooked veggies and fish. Ordering was pretty efficient, as it was Chipotle-style with a bowl where you could order a base of farro, brown rice, or mixed greens, then two veggies, and either a protein or third veggie. The meal came to over $17 after taxes, but unfortunately was not very satisfying. Firstly, most of it was rather dry. The broccoli was charred to the point where many bites tasted burnt. The cauliflower was unevenly cooked--some parts were leaning more raw and other parts were also burnt. And the salmon was also dry. The kale base tasted alright but in terms of portions, they didn't give very much either. read more

I normally like Dig, and their food quality is good. However, the service at this particular location was far below their regular standards. I ordered a veggie bowl which comes with a 3rd vegetable side instead of a meat selection. The staff member continued to angrily yell "CHICKEN OR SALMON" even after I repeatedly kept saying I ordered a veggie bowl. Her treatment was shocking to me and to all the other patrons waiting in line. After realizing her error, she threw in some carrots and shoved my bowl down to be paid for without any acknowledgment or apology. Another great location of DIG. This one is in the Brookfield food court. New to me that they have menu's right before you get in line, but oddly enough they never go by that and always do their build-a-bowl thing. Very weird and they need to add the bowl names up on the board vs. always throwing you into the custom bowls. Overall I ended up getting the hot honey chicken bowl, where the sheet tray carrots were replaced with rice due to the confusion. Good amount of chicken and they give you the hot honey sauce on the side. They have one of the best mac and cheeses I've ever had too. read more

Highly highly recommend ordering ahead for lunch, as this location is within Brookfield Place. I went to pick up my lunch and was so happy I ordered ahead to avoid the snaking lines inside the food court. Dig is always a good and healthy choice for lunch. My usual is the charred chicken with 2 marketplace sides, & it's enough to fill me up! Portion sizes seem a bit smaller than when I used to order from one of their standalone stores, but it's been a while. Highly recommend getting their sriracha and garlic aioli for the sweet potatoes. read more

I literally have no idea how to review this place. I used to frequent this spot for lunch until one day in 2017 when I hit into my Mac and Cheese and discovered something crunchy... a little TOO crunchy. I removed the piece from my mouth and was HORRIFIED to discover a human fingernail clipping. Of course, a fingernail clipping of any kind would have horrified me but I was STUNNED. I was frozen in place and trying not to vomit when my friend tried to comfort me by saying we'd go back and get an immediate refund. When I told the story to the woman at the counter, she told me, "That's weird because no women work in the kitchen" - as if men don't have FINGERNAILS. I need to pause for a moment before I get high blood pressure just remembering this moment. ANYWAY, she tried to remedy the situation by offering me a free plate of anything basically, but I lost my appetite and opted to just get a couple of prepackaged juices that I know for a fact were not made there. Later, I wrote to Dig Inn multiple times before getting a response from customer service. In the mail, they sent me 3 coins to redeem for 3 free meals, all of which were broken in half and haphazardly thrown into an envelope, without even a note saying sorry. LAWD, I was at my wit's end. I vowed to never give them my business again, ever. But here we are, in 2019. After avoiding this place like it was the bubonic plague, my coworkers reassured me that this location had been shut down by the health department years earlier and reopened with a revamped menu and new staff, and an A rating. They've eaten here often and urged me to forgive Dig Inn. I (kind of) put this experience in the past and tried their new bowls - all with identifiable items, where I would easily be able to spot fingernails and other THINGS THAT DON'T BELONG IN FOOD. I was scared, but I went with brown rice, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, and oven-roasted white meat chicken. I examined the whole thing before ever taking a bite and it looked safe. And it was. And it was surprisingly good. Which I hate to admit. That's why I really don't know how to rate this place. I can't speak to its consistency since they did me SO dirty in the past, and *seem* to have changed their ways. Will I order from here again? I don't know. I can forgive but I can't forget. If you dine here, buy a microscope and examine each millimeter of your food before taking a bite just to be safe. Get a magnifying glass too. You can never be too careful! read more
