I actually stumbled upon this place by accident while looking for another restaurant after walking the Brooklyn Bridge on a hot day. At first, I was disappointed that I couldn't find the place I originally wanted, but that feeling disappeared after the very first bite! I ordered the Bacon Hatch Chili Dip Burger, and it was honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had. It was so unique, topped with smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese, and a sriracha green chili sauce. Absolutely amazing! I also tried the Dirty Dipped Waffle Fries, loaded with queso and scallions, and washed it all down with a Mangonada. Everything was delicious. The kids ordered the Single Dip burger with fries and frozen lemonade, and they loved their meals too. This unexpected stop turned out to be one of the highlights of our day. Most of these trendy looking "smash burger" spots with all the branded food napkins/paper, etc. usually suck but this was a Surprise! After two weeks in NY I wanted something simple with family and they didn't disappoint. It's pricey but at the pier it's all expensive. All of the burgers came with a milk bun-like situation that was so pillowy but also able to stay solid enough that it didn't disintegrate under all the toppings and sauce. It's literally Shake Shake but half the size. The waffle fries are plenty, but the Chx sandwich is nothing like they advertise on their socials. I ordered a Chx sandwich for a grown man that looked like it came out of a happy meal. Patty was paper thin and barely fit the bun. Frozen lemonade was $6, and I kid you not came in a cocktail cup, the straw was twice the size of it. Again something you'd expect from a kids menu. Had to grab a slice 30 min after lunch. Mr. Dips, You dipped out on my S'more Morning Glory cone! The reason why you order a S'more is the melted chocolate with graham crackers and then you squeeze a hot marshmallow into the middle. Once you finish and lick your fingers clean, you then say: SMORE? I did not get any of the above mentioned, It felt like more like a S'no more. My wife and I was on the Pier 17 rooftop, it was hot up there but I knew there was ice cream below. We walked downstairs and I ordered a Morning Glory Cone. It comes with vanilla swirl soft serve ice cream, fudge graham and a campfire marshmallow. The Marshmallow was a cold Marshmallow, it was not heated or toasted. What is "Fudge Graham"? There was a chocolate dip on the outside but no graham cracker, not even a crumb. The soft serve Vanilla did not have any vanilla swirl, just sadness. They have complimentary water there with cups available which is great since most places don't have this. I got the quest fries, delicious and there's extra cheese in the bottom of the cup. The burger was good, nothing too spectacular. The ice cream was good! I got beerry gibs and it comes with strawberry soft serve, it was a little tart I wish it was more creamy. not the first time I've been there I'm from New York City. We brought five kids in there all excited jumping around for ice cream and then they ripped me off for two dollars. I asked for sprinkles on my ice cream comb and I literally got about 10 sprinkles put on my ice cream comb. This was the first time anything like that has ever happened. This location is nice to be located in Seaport - they need to get their employees to clean better though because my mom and I had to wipe down our table as it was covered in crumbs and stickiness. The plus side is that this location has bathrooms (I'm always on the hunt for toilets especially when I have people come visit). I think the ice cream dipped cones is where this place is strong. They have three flavors every month and then each month they have one specialty flavor. We got the Berry Gibbs and the special of the month was a mint chocolate flavor (grasshopper I think). Both ice creams were delicious and I think in the future I would just grab and go with the ice cream. We got cheese fries (dirty dipped - queso and scallions) as well to split along with a burger. The burgers are solid (I don't remember the name of it, but my favorite is their spicy one). Chicken tenders are good but served with honey on them, which I'm not always in the mood for. Tried this place on a whim cause I was standing outside, the menu looked good and I will never say no to a sweet treat. Decided to try something a little different from my usual and chose the buttermint crunch. I was told it would have to come in a cup and assumed it was because they didn't have cones anymore. I was wrong... It came in a cup because it was too runny to have any integrity. In my opinion, just don't sell it until it hardens, but whatever. It was tasty. When I received the ice cream, it already started melting. Let me tell you how the cone holder did not help with the melting ice cream at all... There was a melted pool of ice cream on the cone holder before I even walked out the door. When I went out and tried the ice cream, it tasted like any other mint chocolate chip ice cream that you can buy from a carton. Nothing special, but just for the pictures. After less than 10 minutes of eating the ice cream, I had to give up eating it because it made a catastrophic mess all over my clothes. The staff at Mister Dips was not welcoming and friendly at all. Asked if the hot chicken sandwich could have the buffalo sauce that they use on the tenders instead of the hot BBQ. Employee said no (like, why???) so I got my son the tenders. Restaurant itself was absolutely filthy - crumbs, sauce, food, sticky sh-t everywhere. Front house employees were busy with their phones before folding boxes, so I had to clean a table myself with napkins and tap water since the cleaning bottle they leave out beside the soda machine was empty. I got a burger which was decent but no better or unique than any of the other 6,000 smash burger places that have popped up on every block in the city. My chocolate shake was pretty good but that's one of only 2 options they give you. The other is some fruit flavor. Bottom line: the here food isn't good or unique enough to deal with shitty customer service, a wannabe bespoke menu, and disgusting eating area. Given the extraordinary rent they must've paying for Pier 17, maybe management should work out some minimum standards of service and, I dunno, let a kid swap sauces on your chicken sandwiches. We went just for the ice cream but their burgers looked really good too. So glad to have discovered this little gem. They offer monthly flavors, currently they are offering Winnie the poo and summer patriot as specials of the month. We had the patriot and the berry Gibbs, both were delicious and very good size.
