I love coming to this healthy eatery, especially since you can earn rewards through the Dig Inn app and Seated app, both are free and easy to use. This is the healthiest meal I can find in West Village Manhattan. Some food items are gluten free, dairy free and soy free. Good service from the eatery staff. The place wasn't busy during dinner hours but good service. Just note, restrooms are for customers only. I love the comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The Salmon bowl with pesto rice, roasted sweet potatoes, and broccoli are delicious and healthy! The olive oil dressing sauce add more taste to the meal and are healthy as well. On top of that, meals come in compostable fiber takeout bowls along with disposable utensils made of plastic. First time trying Dig Inn after hearing from others about it. It reminds me of Sweetgreen. You can build your own bowl or choose from their sandwiches and other menu items. The food is tasty, fresh, and on the healthier side, plus the portions are generous. Branding is hard to understand. I had DIG on Bleecker filed away as a vegan restaurant for the past year, just to find out it's a "healthy" bowl-ish place. Still not my bag but I'll give credit where it's due, the crispy chicken sandwich was really good. The meatball bowl had one of the more bizarre combinations of flavors I've encountered this summer. What an absolute gem! I stopped by for lunch on a weekday with a bunch of luggage. There were a few free tables still as there were a lot of food delivery orders being picked up. All of the staff there were welcoming and efficient. The food was very fresh and cooked to order! The greens were crisp, the tofu was hot and crispy (I love tofu but even if you didn't I think this would be a good tofu for you because it is pretty mild, not overly soy tasting). The broccoli and sweet potatoes both impressed me! The lemony acid of the broccoli was delicious, and the sweet potatoes had a beautiful caramelized taste. Brought all together with a bright pesto, it was 10/10! Generous portion for a lunch size too. This is great spot to catch a nutritious, filling, tasty, and customizable lunch. Bonus, if you're a traveler and need to use the bathroom, the bathrooms have a code -- just ask the cashier when you order -- and then are nice and clean. This is the elevated sit-down version of the classic DIG. The menu is the same but instead of enjoying your meal in a takeout container, you get to enjoy it in an actual bowl in the heart of the West Village. Salmon was flavorful, tender, and came with its crispy skin. The broccoli had the perfect amount of lemon tang to it & flaky sea salt. Having been here back when it used to be 232 Bleecker, I was curious to see how they'd updated it. I actually haven't been to any of the other regular locations recently so I'm not sure if this is just another DIG now. They serve bowls, salads, sides, and even alcohol. You place your order at the counter or via the QR code located on each table. I had the Cashew Kale Caesar with Salmon, which was very tasty and filling. My only complaint is that the salmon was overly salty and I had to break it up and mix it with the salad in order to make it bearable. I'm assuming someone went a little overboard with the salt this one time. My partner had the Hot Honey Chicken and enjoyed it. Overall, I think this is a great place for a quick, casual meal in the area. read more

Healthy, tasty, and comfy? Does that really exist in a fast-casual dining experience? Well surprisingly at Dig, it does! I was pleasantly surprised that I've never come upon Dig in the past. I came here for a date/meetup after our initial reservation at another restaurant did not work out. It was the first time for either of us, so we really did not know what to expect. We visited on a Sunday evening during the president's day weekend. The establishment seems pretty trendy but cozy, and the decor is bright with a rustic/farmhouse feel. Upon entering, we were kind of lost. We weren't sure how the system works given that a part of the restaurant seems like an actual dining establishment, but then there's an open area to sit which looks like it belongs in a cafe. On top of that, there's an area where you can see the staff preparing the food, sort of like when you go to a Jamaican restaurant or subways. So, we weren't completely sure how things worked. But, a staff member directed us to a seat and gave us the rundown, which helped greatly. The place was a bit packed. It's not large but it isn't small either. So passing between tables felt a little tight. We used our phones to view the menu and place our order. The menu features a variety of American and some culturally diverse dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. If I had to compare the menu style, it reminds me of 'The Little Beet', which is a favorite of mine. I must say, as a health and wellness professional, I was very impressed by the menu. Lots of fresh veggies and unique whole grains such as farrow and quinoa offered. No frills it seemed like and my heart sang with delight! There's literally something for everyone here as the menu caters to those who are plant-based or animal based eaters. For our meals, my date opted for the hot honey chicken bowl. I went for the marketbowl - a personalized curation of one protein and two sides. I decided on the charred chicken with coconut rice (upcharge) and mac and cheese, with a side of garlic aioli and sweet chili sauce. There didn't seem to be many options for beverages, so I opted for bottled still water. The food was out within a short time frame and they delivered it to our table, which we didn't expect. Surprisingly, I enjoyed my meal. Firstly, the chicken was seasoned quite well. I had anticipated bland and dry chicken however, it was rather moist and seasoned just right. The mac and cheese was alright. It was creamy with a good texture on the pasta, but the taste wasn't spectacular, it was just ok. I've had better at Whole Foods. BUT I will say, they did a great job of masking the gritty taste that whole grain pasta can have at times. You would never know it was made with whole grain pasta in my opinion. Lastly, the coconut rice was also just ok. This version wasn't as rich and flavorful, as I like my coconut rice to be; it really tasted like regular brown rice. The sweet chili and garlic aioli were delicious though and they added some great flavor to my dish. My date enjoyed his meal as well, with no issues voiced. Despite the confusion we encountered walking in, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Pricing was decent and given the portion sizes, I felt it was a good value. My date easily paid the bill from his phone upon ordering, so there was no waiting for a server to give us the bill or any need for us to walk to the register. It was a seamless process. Overall, a good experience for my first visit. I would definitely return and try some other items. I dont like writing a negative review on comped food. But the guy who served me was really obnoxious. There was a contest, and i won a free picnic box. He got my order wrong 4 times. I got up to make sure I got the food I actually ordered, and he acted annoyed because he did it wrong. Then I ordered tofu and chicken. I got 4 tiny pieces of tofu and a whole container full of chicken. They told me twice that it's four peices tofu for the order. Which is not fair to vegetarians. Not sure if there's a run on tofu or something, but the veg option shouldn't be a 1/4 the portion size of the chicken. When I went to leave, the guy walked over to me and asked if I "was happy now." Like I had done something wrong by wanting to get the food I actually ordered instead of whatever he picked. I do like the food, but I would never go back to this branch. I saw the other girl preparing food also take a piece of steak and constantly on her cell phone and then touching the food after she was on her cell....
