She knows EXACTLY what kind of jewelry my mom and like so when my (clueless) dad goes in to buy one of us a present Karen always picks out the perfect gift for him. Recently she was able to repair my engagement ring, and made the stone more secure without damaging any of the beautiful detail work (which another jeweler had told me was impossible). Even though my cdaughter s are both in thir mid are in their 40s --- I had to laugh because of the look of wonder in their eyes and unbeknownst to either one - each chose an opal. There was a giant sign that said Home - Made jewelry 20% off, and kidding I asked "Wanna go in" to which she said YES, so we pulled over, parked and went in. We literally spent an hour with Janet in the shop, SHE IS GREAT!!! We continued to talk about Janet for the rest of our girls weekend, that I could spend a weekend with her and hear her stories & just be in her presence! I was very happy to see all the diverse items that she promotes and inspires in the middle of what might be a less than liberal area, She sells and donates the proceeds of Haitian art back to the Haitian communities. She had SO MUCH jewelry in her shop and if you would mention something she INSTANTLY knew where it was on a random table. You could spend all day in there and still not see all she had. My sister liked one thing and instantly she made it into something else. She was just great & I want to hang out with her & hear her stories! She was a great soul and really had beautiful items! I brought in two watches for repair -- one a battery replacement, the other a small repair on a vintage watch -- and Nur completed the work in less than twenty minutes and cleaned both watches, all for $15.
