One of the specials, rock crab in garlic butter.

Four stars is the perfect fit, and this represents the whole package, food, service and atmosphere. The food by itself is good (dishes feel like they are missing something), but the customer service is great! The restaurant is always clean and inviting with a beautiful view.

Dillon Beach Coastal Kitchen is the one real dining establishment in this part of town and it's a good one. We managed to scoop in right before closing - they close early - 7:00PM. The menu is straightforward and very coastal forward. I ordered the Baja fish tacos ($20). The beer battered rock cod comes topped with smashed avocado, cabbage, cilantro-lime crema + salsa verde. The rock cod was exceptionally good - it's meaty and flakey. The toppings were mild and the perfect complement to the fish. Apparently, the Dillon Beach Burger ($23) is famous and honestly, it's pretty good. It comes with fancy meat - Stemple Creek beef - sauce, lettuce, cheese, dill pickles + fries. I think I added Monterey Jack cheese (+3). This tasted like an elevated backyard burger in the best way possible. Delish. We had a really nice dinner experience. Even though we did come around 6:30, we in no way felt rushed to order or to eat quickly. Service was attentive and excellent. Ten out of ten.

My husband stayed here and ate her for dinner both nights. Service is great. Food is great. Drinks are great. Every single item was so good. We had the burger, poke bowl, chicken sandwich, and the clam chowder. Everything 10/10

I've been to the coastal kitchen a handful of times and they always have delicious hot plates as well as drinks. I also love their ice cream/soft serve they have! They have an adorable little marketplace that's attached with their own retail items as well as any sunscreen or sand equipment you might need! Every employee I've seen has been very welcoming and helpful and they seem to love working there as well. I've actually heard them singing as they're restocking and I think it's cute. They feel so at home while at work. I honestly love this little beach community and like how clean and respectful everybody seems to be on the beach itself! I can't wait to get a little Airbnb and stay here for the weekend!!

Exceptionally fresh fish in a stunning setting. Service is prompt and cheerful. Dog and kid-friendly. Sit in the shade at a picn8c table, inside if it's rainy or at the long counter, watching the waves.

Fried chicken sandwich with mixed greens salad.

I actually wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. The pickles were spicier than I was expecting but I managed to deal with heat. The sandwich came with a salad of mixed greens (plus arugula - yum) and was topped with a light vinegar based dressing. Both were very good. The young guy at the register was very friendly. It was a gorgeous warm day at Dillon and the view was epic. I will be back.

Well, I sure was thankful for this place on Saturday. After stopping by at the pizza place in Tomales and finding out they had run out of food, I seemed to have very few options. Luckily, we had stayed in Dillon Beach before and remembered there was a restaurant here ( although it was closed last time). So we came on down and checked out this location. Anyone who's been to Dillon Beach knows parking is a bit difficult to find and this place is no exception. However, the place is beautiful, the service is pretty good for a walk up type of location, and the food is delicious. Very happy with my burger and fries- I'm sure we will be back.

The only thing I'm sad about after my first visit here is that I didn't find this place sooner! Such a cute little beach restaurant with an amazing view and they are very dog and child friendly. I mean what else could you want? Oh yeah the food was great too! I went here with my family for my birthday lunch well actually we went to the beach and I wanted clam chowder after that. I yelped clam chowder from Dillon beach and it said this place was like right there. Dillon is my favorite local beach so I was shocked I just now found this spot now. I will definitely be back and soon. The service was fast and friendly also patient with our not so well behaved dogs ‍ They literally barked at her when she brought us the food. So shameful but she didn't seem bothered at all. Like I said they were very dog friendly with dog water bowls all over the patio area and plenty of room for everyone to spread out. There were in door seats too but most everyone sat outside bc it was a nice day and the entire patio is over looking the beach.

Toddler size chowder tin. You need the large for grown adults.
    Alex R.

I bought the $10 metal tin of chowder. They should definitely show the size before you purchase. It's super small and barely filled 3/4 . This is definitely toddler size. It came with a thin slice of fried bread. There was more vegetables than anything else swimming around the light chower sauce. Since there is nothing else to eat for miles around, I'll give it a 3 star.

    Carrie L.

Hubby and I grabbed a bite here on our first night as we weee settling in and thought the food was decent. We ordered the clam chowder, fried chicken sandwich and fish & chips. The best thing was honestly the fries - super crisp and well seasoned!

The restaurant's large windows provide beautiful waterfront views no matter where you're seated. Our waitress (whose name I unfortunately forgot) was fantastic. She mentioned she'd been there for 14 years, which says a lot in itself. She was friendly, knowledgeable about every dish, and gave us excellent recommendations. I know Caesar dressing contains anchovies, but I was hesitant about having actual fish on my salad. I'm so glad she encouraged me to try the cooked anchovies on the side--they were delicious. Perfectly salty and a great complement to the salad. The pork chop entrée was perfection! The pork was cooked beautifully, and the bread pudding side was just as memorable. I'm not entirely sure what was in it, but it reminded me of garlic bread in the best way. The applesauce was also a nice touch. The halibut was cooked perfectly as well, and the mashed potatoes practically melted in your mouth. For sides, the grilled asparagus was exactly what you'd hope for, and the crispy potatoes lived up to their name, perfectly seasoned with a great crunch. The soup of the day was a creamy spring onion soup with crispy pancetta. Although just as delicious as everything else ordered, its the one plate we wished the portion was bigger for the price it was going for. We've eaten at plenty of restaurants, but this may be the first time where every single thing we ordered--from the entrées to the sides and sauces--was a 10/10. Needless to say, this won't be our last visit. It was absolutely worth it and such a memorable part of our anniversary trip to Bodega Bay.

3 Stars because it was both 1-star "not good" and 4-star "great" due to it being the weirdest…read moredining experience I've ever had. So let's start with the "not good" - not only was it not good - the service was so bad I couldn't even bring myself to want to tip out of pity. I try to find reasons to tip in situations such as this but I could not. Literally the last time I left a $0 tip was 20 years ago - I'm no jerk. So to start it took forever to get any attention - felt invisible - after sitting down, I basically had to all but snap my fingers and shout, "garçon!" Then it was left to random chance when and what arrived at our table. Starting with, "here's your beers, not sure which one is which." The food items did not arrive together, but staggered. One item failed to arrive entirely and when I mentioned it there was no apology it was, "well did you say anything?" My befuddled reply, "I'm saying something now?" Then I asked for a napkin along with the check with the missing item removed, and got the check and no napkin. We had to rinse our hands in our water cups then wash them in the bathroom lol. The check arrived with a place to write a gratuity and a total, which is unusual - usually you have to give them your card before you get that option and this abnormality threw me off and I never gave them my card, I just gave a tip of " :( " and put the total and signed my name and left. A few minutes later my wife realized I didn't ever hand them a card. So I called and left a message apologizing and saying I still owe them. They never called back. So the next day I entered the restaurant to pay up, and they were really nice and said they couldn't find an unpaid tab and that it probably got voided out or something. They were magnanimous and cool about it. I'm worried maybe somebody else got charged for my meal? No idea, but I can't bring myself to leave 1 star for a place that in a weird round about way comped me for $75 in food and drinks even though I didn't tip them. What a weird experience.

And even better to know the food and drinks are as great as they always were! While staying with friends in this lovely golf community, we stopped at the Links at Bodega Harbour to check it out and decided to stay for dinner. The menus offered up some tasty sounding dishes! And they did not disappoint. Three of us ordered the crab cakes while two went for the traditional hamburger and fries. Everyone was happy with their choices. Crab cakes were on point! Lots of crab with little filler. Really rich and moist served with a light sauce, which complimented them so well. Hamburgers were big and juicy with lots of crispy fries. In the beverage department, I selected the Quivira Sauvignon Blanc, which was wonderful. You rarely see this winery on restaurant wine lists, so I was quite excited. It is so delightful and perfect with crab cakes. (Menu photos of everything are included.) By the time we were finished, every seat was filled. It is a small area with maybe 7 seats at the bar and a mixture of tables and high tops rounding out the rest of the room. Very cozy. A gorgeous view of the ocean and golf course, too, as the restaurant is on the second level of the building. Casual dining at its best! Alex and his helper were working hard. Five-star customer service for sure. Shout out to them both! I highly recommend Bluewater Lounge for a place to stop where you will have quality food, a full bar, and people who strive to give the highest customer experience to everyone! Open for dining Wednesday, Thursday (live music), Friday (bingo or live trivia), Saturday, and Sunday (brunch). (It's always smart to call for specific open hours.) Parking plentiful. Did I mention they give a nice wine pour too!!! Cheers!

Duh, one of the few places open. Keep thinking we should go up there a open up a place called "Andrea's Late Night" and make bank. Anyway, we split the halibut and cous cous and multiple refreshments. Service was great and the tourists were less than annoying. There is an outside fire pit where kids bored with their parents and not too worried about how they were going to make it back to the bungalow, or worse, left there because the elders forgot about them, were roasting marshmallows. Back inside the crowd was clearing out including the couple with their new baby and $1,200 Orbit stroller. Back in the day I bought a car for less than this. Kids these days!!!! (eye roll). As usual we were the last ones out. We typically close down everyplace we go. In populated areas the staff have restaurants/bars they go to after work and every one you saw during the day are there to unwind. Fun times with these groups. Up in Bodega Bay no such place.
