Our drinks, and plates were aggressively slammed on the table, we had to get up and walk to the front just to get our check and we were greeted with awful attitude, for us it's upsetting due to the fact we were on a family sporting event out of town and we were excited to eat at such an adorable place. Used to eat here often and was always good. Seems that things have fallen off. Waited 40 min for food. When my breakfast burrito arrived it wasn't warm. There appeared to be some type of filling that was charred black in the burrito. The only thing I can figure out is it was pepper and onions. Location- in the heart of downtown Tulsa, 7 minute drive from the house. Trendy, and fun with just enough menu options. 2. Food - Don't try to be cute. You're going to get full on whatever you order (you'll enjoy eating it too!)! Just accept it. I strongly recommend the cinnamon roll w/ cream cheese AND pecans (please share this) and the chicken and waffles (the honey sriracha sauce is the show stopper here)! They have a pretty solid bagel and lox as well. Our waitress, her name escapes me....tall, black girl (I'm sorry anyone under 28 is a "girl" to me) with glasses, was kind and forgiving.....We're the type of party that orders "extra this" and "crispy that"...ya catch my drift? There is a problem brewing in Downtown Tulsa. Eateries like Dilly Diner are as much a symptom of the problem as they are a cause. Pretentious dining simply for the sake of pretentiousness. While we know Dilly Diner is a bit over priced in relation to the quality of the food and the service. We decided to give it a try. Our last few experiences have been a bit mediocre but promising. On this Sunday, March 8th. It appears things have slipped backward. The young person they had in the Host/Hostess position seemed a bit more immature and snotty. But, given a 30 minute wait, we parked ourselves 6 feet from the stand. Long story short, as we monitored seating, my wife's habit. We knew about where we stood. As we were the 3rd party on the list, we noticed a couple waitresses stepping up to the stand, recognizing their friends and making changes to the list. My wife looked at the list and saw our name was scratched out. I asked the Host/Hostess why we were scratched off and he says he called out name 5 times. For 30 minutes, we heard every name called. But, standing 6 feet away, we somehow missed ours. This, when I am positive we saw every name he called be seated. Yet, this Host/Hostess decided to stand his ground and stated, "I will put you back in the list." As if I had asked for a privilege. Punishment to myself, or not, I vote with my spending. And I don't reward those who feel thief establishment is so special, they can act like immature children, outright lie and punish the customer. To the owner/proprietor: your establishment is not that good. I have tried this eatery about a dozen times in the last few years, always hoping it would rise to its potential. Only to find out, it looks like those who run the place believe it is so special, it can hire rude, immature, over privileged acting children and they can treat customers like beggars. We will not be back. If you are in Tulsa, there are a dozen places superior to this establishment. And, I agree, it would be cool if Downtown Tulsa didn't become a failed restraint venue because they treat the customer like they are not important to thief success. read more

This is a good easy spot to eat downtown. It was pretty busy on a Saturday around lunch time. They knew we were in a rush, and were able to get us in and out pretty fast so that was appreciated! Our particular waitress was friendly and quick too. They were still serving just their brunch menu when we were there (I think it goes until 4pm on weekends?). The menu had a fair amount of options, but I'd like to know if there are more options on their normal menu. If I went back for normal lunch (which I guess would have to be during the week) or dinner (though this doesn't strike me as a dinner place as much) I think I'd like to see some more variety. I kept going back and forth between salad, oatmeal, or granola because they all sounded good at the time. I ended up ordering the GT salad, which was the only salad on the brunch menu. At first I wasn't sure if it'd be my favorite (but again, it was the only salad option, on the brunch menu at least) but it was yummy! I especially liked the curry chicken (the other option was to get it with tuna). It was definitely a good portion of the chicken, I'd say most of the salad was the curry chicken even. The arugula tasted fresh. I also really loved the lomah cheese!!! It kind of had this runny texture that at first I though it was a poached egg and was like "I don't remember seeing that in the description but I like it". The diner was quaint, the servers were awesome! But all the dishes had something wrong. The Cowgirl Coffee had too much bourbon, and was really strong! The the 2 egg breakfast was delicious. But the French toast was not good at all (egg hadn't soaked into brioche & it was baked layered up so there wasn't a consistent cook); the bourbon caramel and banana topping was good. The place is nice and big! The service is good, and the food was filling! We came for breakfast. Our kids ordered the big breakfast from the kids menu, my husband ordered chicken and waffles, he said it was ok, I ordered Huevos Rancheros with potatoes and that was pretty good. My only complaint is some of the potatoes were too burnt and no flavor. During the week there is no free parking btw, so be prepared to pay for parking out in the street or parking lots. I am visiting and staying downtown. I went to Dilly Diner for breakfast on Saturday and I loved it so much that I went back on Sunday and a friend (local) joined me. The food was excellent on both occasions: tasty, generous portions, served rather quickly. I think I told the server on Saturday that the biscuit and gravy were life changing! Tried the chicken fried steak (CFS) and eggs on the Sunday visit. It too was amazing. The experience was further elevated by our server, Holly. Holly was friendly, personable, and efficient. In fact, she kicked-a$$ at her job. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Thanks Holly and Dilly Diner team for a great experience. It's time to post an updated review of Dilly Diner. I didn't have a great experience the first time the switch happened from Dilly Deli to Dilly Diner. It was extremely disappointing and it took me a long time to come back; a few years, partly due to the experience and partly due to the fact that I had moved away. Upon moving back to Tulsa, I gave it another try. It was great! So, we came back again; it was nearly perfect. Now this is a permanent breakfast spot on our rotation. We love it here. We love eating on the patio. They are so accommodating to us with our dog and our baby. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The food is great, too! A fan favorite for us is the pancakes! Normally i would have no problem speaking up and letting them know i ordered it with fruit.. honestly felt like she would have said "No" so i let it slide. Also, wasnt easy to get a refill on my water... i was literally at the bar and couldnt flag someone down (it wasnt busy) maybe i was just on the wrong side of the bar. Overall, very pleasant brunch experience! The service was very good. Came in and didn't have to wait long at all. Everyone had smiles on their faces. Our waitress was very patient with us and very kind! The Jed was the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. It was so warm and fresh, the traditional whipped cream cheese was very delightful. I had the Huevos Rancheros with fruit on the side and it was pretty good. I asked for my eggs as over-easy and I was very happy with the result. Normally when I ask for over-easy eggs elsewhere, it's typically more underdone, but here it was perfect. There was a small, subtle kick of spice in the dish, but nothing that made me constantly fill myself with water. The very subtle kick came from the bell pepper and the raw onion. The meat was a bit too salty, but still pretty delicious. The fruit was okay, I did enjoy the grapefruit slice but it didn't seem super fresh. A bit warm, but I'd assume that was because of the heat conduction from the actual meal. My boyfriend did mention that his breakfast sandwich seemed a bit basic. I thought it was good but I did agree with him. I felt like it wasn't super unique in its own way, kind of reminded both of us of a better, non-greasy version of a McDonald's sandwich. read more

I'm really bummed to have to do this but I came to Dilly Diner this morning just to have the awesome cinnamon roll. I actually brought a friend from out of state to experience the "best cinnamon roll ever." Unfortunately, the cinnamon roll we were served was way off. It was clearly not fresh. And although I understand that not everything can always be made the same day, this cinnamon roll was either over microwaved or just over dried out. I didn't mention anything because I kept trying a few bites, thinking it would get better toward the center, but it didn't. I also really don't like to complain. There wasn't anything else I wanted, and I was happy to pay for the meal I was served. I will definitely try the Dilly Diner cinnamon roll again. I hope at that time I can come back and change this to a five star review. Apologies that I didn't feel comfortable addressing this at the time. Came here the morning after a great show at Cain's Ballroom. I didn't expect it to be so cute inside! The green tiles are cute and so are the booths. It's got a nice retro feel but it isn't outdated. I ordered an almond milk latte and the chorizo breakfast tacos with potatoes. My husband ordered the French dip off the lunch menu with the chips and dip as the side. My breakfast tacos had scrambled eggs, chorizo, cheese, cilantro, avocado and chipotle sauce of some sort with flour tortillas. They were so good and filling! They didn't skimp on the avocado either which was nice. It came with 2 tacos. The potatoes were so interesting. I think they were parboiled and maybe pan fried or roasted. The inside was like a boiled potato but the outside was crispy. Another yelper said Dilly Diner has the best breakfast potatoes in Tulsa and I see why! They are so good. It didn't look like a lot of potatoes but it was actually perfect! My husband's meal was also really great. His French dip came on focaccia bread which is not traditional but it was very delicious. They put some sort of garlic aioli on the sandwich and it was intensely garlicky which he and I loved. The au jus was pretty salty, which wasn't my favorite but the sandwich on its own was wonderful. The chips were house-made I believe, and the dip he got was bleu cheese horseradish, perfect for him but not my thing. He couldn't finish the meal, but he thoroughly enjoyed it! The service was wonderful and we got our food faster than any other restaurant I've been to in a long time. Our server was great too. I would 100% visit this place again. We often don't have time for breakfast in the morning when we visit Tulsa, but I absolutely want to make time to come back to this restaurant. read more

It's so fun to eat outside on their patio. The menu changes seasonally. And the owners got rid of the cute play houses outside for the kids to play in (which is really why we would eat there). The meatloaf is my absolute fav and it's not currently on the menu. Service is slow but they do take good care of you. Don't eat there if you're in a hurry. I'm really marking this 4.5 stars and the only reason it's not 5 stars was the service. My burrito was very big (I'm 7 months pregnant and could finish it) and flavorful. It wasn't very hot but I was starving so I didn't say anything. The coffee was never hot either. Luke warm each refill. The flapjacks were to die for. It's a sweet batter that didn't even need syrup, just butter. Still craving them a week later. My husband got a breakfast sandwich which seemed really basic but the sausage and everything on it was very flavorful. Cute little place in Blue Dome District. The service was like pulling teeth to get hot coffee refills and silverware and sauces we had asked for (who doesn't bring syrup and butter with the pancakes???). Dilly is a great place to go and get breakfast or lunch. It has been a Tulsa go to for over a decade. The staff are usually great, but it can get super busy. The food is also usually pretty good for what it is. The one big variance are the potatoes. But if you ask for what you like they will usually meet your liking.
