    Turkey Sandwich
    Spike S.

This visit, my wife had the turkey sandwich and the potato salad. Simple Delicious. I tried PJ's version of a Cobb Salad. Different and disappointing. An odd combination of ingredients. Stick with the sandwiches. Although the quaint, but dated little shop has been diners favorite for years, PJ's may be due for a refresh of the menu.

So good and had great options!

The sandwich and pasta salad was perfect! I also had a snickerdoodle cookie that was fresh and still warm!

    Strawberry cupcakes and brownies.

Small hidden spot near True Value Hardware. Got desserts to go for a birthday party. Purchased brownies and strawberry cupcakes. All were delicious.

This is definitely a hidden gem! The employees were sweet and they also have outdoor seating. It's very cozy feeling inside and quiet! I got the pineapple cream cheese sandwich and it was so fresh and delicious. My husband got the meatloaf sandwich and enjoyed it. I tried the meatloaf and it was super good as well! The potato salad and Mac salad were also good!! My husband also got a sugar cookie with lemon icing and they iced it right there for you. It was so lemony and fresh! Will def be back for a Sammy on a hot day this summer!

Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The food wasn't very good in my opinion. I chose the turkey sandwich. Although the turkey was real turkey breast, not deli meat, it didn't have a lot of flavor. There also weren't a lot of toppings, and bread ratio was too bready. There isn't an option to "build your own" like Jersey Mikes or Subway, so you're kind of stuck with what you get. It wasn't awful, just not that good. Service made up for mediocre food.

Neither looked up to see me standing there. After six minutes standing there one looked at me. Came up and asked me if she could help me. I told her my name and was there to pickup my sandwiches. With this "you dumb butt look" and said "it's right over there"and walked off. Remember I've never been there before and I hadn't seen the shelf holding our food. Place is small with six or so tables. Got home with our sandwiches. My Italian Sub was SO WET AND SOGGY! The lettuce and thinly sliced tomato were drenched in some unidentified liquid substance. I pulled all of the let out of the sub. Leaving me with a bun that was falling apart. Torn off about half of the top and bottom of the bun. Flavor of meat was okay at its best. I ate one half Wife's Homemade Turkey sub was bland and tasteless. She ate 1/3 of one half. Two bags of chips were the hit of the meal. $29.60 wasted. Can't say we didn't try.

Both sandwiches came with homemade potato chips, a mix of regular and sweet potato and they were absolutely delicious. The Dutch Crunch Sandwich was packed with turkey, bacon, swiss, tomato, arugula, and avocado mayo on dutch crunch bread. They don't skimp on toppings at all, there was plenty of turkey and bacon, and every bite was flavorful. Dalton's Double Deuce was another standout. Ham, egg salad, olive tapenade, and arugula on a fresh Italian roll. It felt like a grown up version of an egg salad sandwich. The olive tapenade adds a great punch of flavor, though it leans a little salty. And the cookies... unbelievably good. Truly some of the best cookies I've had. The Brown Sugar Cookie has a gooey center and deep caramel flavor, and the Oatmeal Cookie without no raisins, surprised me, I didn't miss the raisins at all. It tastes like it has a light honey glaze to me, and it's phenomenal. Trenchers is definitely a new favorite.

I ordered the full size, and it was huge. I ended up splitting it into two meals. My only complaint was the house-made chips. They seemed like they had been fried ahead of time because by the time I got them, they were soggy, which was a bit disappointing. I paired everything with a root beer, and overall it was a fantastic meal. Aside from the chips, I really enjoyed it and would definitely come back.

My husband and I initially joined a line at the front, but a kind worker came and told us all that the line actually begins in the back as they open the back door for customers ordering. So, we all walked around and waited patiently until the doors opened at 11am. We were about number 10 in line and were able to order their famous sandwich before it sold out! The Picanha sandwich is probably one of the best sandwiches we've ever had! It comes with steak fries, which were also very tasty! It's perfect to share because the portions are plentiful and it's very filling. We also ordered one of the chicken pastels to share. Everything was wonderful! Since I wasn't there on a Thursday to try the famous sandwich, I got a chicken pastel. It was a pretty short wait and it was fried fresh and delicious. I had corn and jalapeños added to mine. And my only complaint is the tiny chimichurri sauce that comes with it. I definitely should have ordered more because it's delicious! I could have used another couple because the Pastel is big! You can definitely share it. But I love how creative and authentic the vibes are. Doctor Kustom himself was there when I was there, and he's so nice. Congrats to him on the incredible awards.

The bread wasn't as good as what we remembered and they were skimpy on the ingredients. We suspected the change in the quality might have something to do with the size. I decided to find out so I ordered a small original. I was pleased to find the bread was the same delicious sourdough Schlostzky's is known for and the small sandwich had ample ingredients. I would recommend getting small or medium sandwiches instead of the large. The amount of sodium in a small original is 1640 and the recommended daily amount of sodium is 2300 or below, so that leaves 660 for the rest of the day. If you are on a low sodium diet, they do have some cheese and veggie sandwiches and salads below 1,000 mg. Most restaurants put a lot of salt in their food. It's not just Schlotzsky's. My husband has to limit his sodium so we check. The service was fast and friendly, but this restaurant is lacking in ambiance. The seats in the booths are wearing out. They look bad and they're uncomfortable. They have a nice patio area where you can probably take your dog. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays pizzas are $5. Wednesdays are bogo pizza nights.
