I havent written a Yelp review in YEARS but this place bummed me out. I heard it went downhill with the new owners and now I have seen it firsthand. First, make sure you specifiy "real ice cream" for your milkshake or you will get a "shake-like-beverage" McDonalds style. Seriously?? Also STYROFOAM abundant in 2017. Sad. Nothing was good. I think the place is so crowded just because it's a good place to go after tubing, etc and kid-friendly. But very disappointing. I hope they will make improvements. read more

We were very disappointed in the new ownership of Dillys. When we arrived another customer was complaining about how the Philly Cheesesteak was not the same. I am pretty sure the new owner said the same people were making the food and they were using the same suppliers. We are hoping that there are some summer workers that have not returned from college yet. Our usual order was a complete fail. French fries were over cooked. Cheese for french fries was orange and did not taste good. The breaded tilapia sandwich was non existent. It appears the new owners never ate there prior to buying the business. Highly unlikely we will ever go back. So sad. It used to be great. read more

Used to love the bacon cheeseburger and peanut butter milkshake.... went tonight and the bun is different! It's a thick potato bun for a tiny burger patty. It was so much bread, I miss the old seeded bun!!! The milkshake was so thin and watery. Nothing like what we used to get. Thank god they didn't change the curly fries or honey mustard! Used to like Dillys but it took 40 minutes to get our food today. Shouldn't take that long for chicken fingers, fries and a cheeseburger. Was it busy, yes. But 40 minute wait is crazy. We won't keep coming if they can't get the kitchen to turn out good faster. read more

Horrible Horrible Horrible. Complained about my undercooked grilled chicken (pink inside!!) and I knew they were different from the previous owners chicken. They told me they did not change any of the foods besides the chili and said they'd have to charge me for another chicken!!! They also lied about changing the chili only. They changed, (as I only know of) chili, ALL of the buns, the patties, the dilly dogs are much smaller, the chicken, the fries.. curly and regular are occasionally different, the dressings are horrible and barley give you any for charging you 50c. Also, the new Russian owners are very rude and block off our view of the kitchen... what's going on inside that you don't want us to see? Girl who handed me my tray rolled her eyes at me when I asked for a side of mayo and said she'd have to charge me! for mayo!? Please, please do not waste your money on this place. After the 45 years I have been dining here with consistent quality the new owner turned the place to crap. I had a personal charge account there when I was 14. Management and the food went down the drain in an instant. my teenage sons went there to use a $10 gift card his aunt gave him for his birthday and they refused to honor it,insinuated it could be counterfeit and told us they don't care. Seriously- was the not honoring $10 worth it? Lets see- there cost for that was about $3.50. I will never go there again and tell every single Person ( lived here for 45 years)my experience. All the reviews on here of the change in vendors and poor food quality and management are spot on. Every local I spoke with agreed. Stay away. Sorry we lost a local staple. We've been going to Dillys since the kids were old enough for us to want to escape from, leave alone and not tell where we were going (they're now closing in on 40). For us, part of the pleasure has always been the ride (although traffic has gotten worse), and the leasure of the place. Come in flip-flops, a bathing suit, a dress, whatever, it doesn't matter. The food is great, Tom and Nancy are as nice as they come, and the kids who work there-really work! I really shouldn't sing their praises, the place will become even more crowded, but it really is that good. read more

The iconic Dillyburger is ruined! The only thing the new owners have kept from the original is the name. The new buns are stale, dry & crumble in your hand. The meat lacks character & is almost tasteless. The lines move slower. We have been regulars at Dilly's for almost 20 years- the original owners were always there & would come out to talk with you. I recently visited dillys with the excitement of waiting all winter for them to reopen. Dillys has been one of my favorite places to eat whenever I am in the New hope area. I had gotten there and found our dillys is now under new ownership. Walking in, it felt just as I remember it. I had the pleasure of meeting the new owners and they along with their staff was very welcoming. I ordered one of my favorites, the chili dog with a side of curly fries and even got some ice cream to finish off. I am please to sat that they nailed all of the favorites. The owners had told me they were looking to keep a lot of the same favorites while adding some things of their own, so like any dillys lover, I was skeptical. After my first visit back this spring, the food was great, all the favorites are there to stay and are better than ever! I can't wait to go back and try some of the new things that they add and really keep this place a town favorite! read more

I stumbled upon Dilly's on my way to go tubing down the Delaware river and at first glance Dilly's was everything I wanted. A nice hometown family oriented corner restaurant that served the classic burgers and fries type food (and had a hilarious name). It was in a great location, right next to a very nice view on the bridge and easily accessible from wherever you were coming from on the road. I had very high hopes for Dilly's but they were immediately crushed when I took my first bite of the food. The grilled chicken sandwich I got tasted like it was molded out clay. If I closed my eyes and took a bite I don't think I could have identified what I was eating. My friend got the chicken finger sandwich which was essentially 2 chicken fingers sloppily hanging off of a soggy hamburger bun that fell apart after about 2 bites. My boyfriend got grilled cheese and curly fries which were not bad but are also nearly impossible to mess up. We stopped back later that day after tubing to give Dilly's one more chance and to try what looked like amazing soft serve. We saw people eating it earlier and we thought that the ice cream could be Dilly's saving grace. We were sadly mistaken again when we tried what tasted like luke warm marshmallow fluff combined with Twinkie filling. We turned the 6 inch tall soft serve upside down and it stayed completely still and not a single sprinkle fell off. Fool me once, shame on Dilly's. Fool me twice, shame on me. Steer clear of this corner stop for anything other than curly fries. read more

After reading mixed reviews after being under new management I wanted to go back and see if the complaints were merited. The girl was friendly and courteous taking my order and it was prepared in less than 10 minutes which was quick as it was very busy. A few things I noticed as we ate was the cheese is now American and the buns are different from before. The food was cooked perfectly and the portions were huge as always. I'm giving Dilly's mixed reviews. On the one hand, I had the pulled pork sandwich that was on special for $9. Loved it. The meat had a good texture and flavor and there was plenty of it. The sauce was a bit spicy, just the way I like it. The pickled onions were on point. For nine bucks, I would've liked some fries with it, but consider the area and I'm happy I had a substantial, tasty sandwich. My husband was far less impressed with his $6.50 chicken cheese steak. The chicken was not separated into individual strips but looked kind of like a pressed patty. He said that the flavor was good but the consistency threw off the whole sandwich. He also didn't like the roll which he said started to fall apart. So we had completely different experiences, which is a shame because it probably means I'll never have that yummy pulled pork again. Tried something else for the first time this trip (based on a friend's recommendation) the BBQ pork sandwich. O......M.......G was it awesome! Glad I finally ventured outside my comfort zone. I stopped at Dilly's for lunch today after hiking on the Delaware Canal towpath. The Dilly Burger didn't disappoint; in fact, it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. It was extremely flavorful and unbelievably juicy. It's in an ideal, bucolic location, so I was glad they had outdoor seating. I'm really looking forward to trying a chili dog and a Dilly Dog. This burger and Coke really hit the spot after my hike. I definitely will be back. So glad we have this gem in Bucks County. read more

How can the new owners cut back the hours?! My family and I drive all the way down there one night to find out it closed at 7pm. We got there 15 min after close and we weren't the only customers upset that they were already closed, that's so early! We were excited that Dilly's was finally opened for the season, but..... it's not the same. We love Dilly Burgers and were so disappointed - the burger is smaller, the roll is just some hamburger roll and NO NAPKINS required. Cheese wasn't right, and no mayo, either, which we would have asked for if we knew to ask. The fries and onion rings were good, and the ice cream was too, but the big draw for us has always been the burgers. I came here after a long day on the Delaware River at a suggestion of a friend who was with us (I've passed this place before, but was never inclined to stop), and it definitely hit the spot. It's not a fancy place, but the price is right and HUGE portions of tasty food (Dilly Cheeseburger especially). I bet what I'd ordered would cost $20 at some trendy main-street New Hope place. When in doubt, definitely order a size down. I was starving, but would never be able to finish that much normally. The 'small' ice cream cone I had (delicious) was more than enough. Cash-only is kind of a pain (although I did come prepared), especially since I didn't see an ATM available (this would definitely have been a good convenience for those without, and would make the owner some $$ as well).
