I had a very disappointing experience at the pickup station today around 3:55 p.m. on Saturday. The male employee assisting me was rude and appeared uninterested in doing his job. He handed me my food abruptly and did not ask if I needed soy sauce and chili, which is typically offered. Instead, he walked away immediately after placing my order on the table without saying anything. Customer service is an important part of the experience, and this interaction felt disrespectful and unprofessional. I hope management addresses this so future customers are treated with basic courtesy. Food is expensive and didnt even include soy sauce which should be common sense to put for dim sim. Food taste decent and I really want to like this place but after what happened today, I would never come back here again for it's service and for what the manager told me. We had dim sum here today with my family of 4, we had a great time until the end. The manager walked by us and said the kitchen made a mistake with the lobster noodle. Kitchen chef gave us a bigger lobster and the manager wants me to pay an addition $10 if I'm to keep my order else they would need to take it away. Sesame seed balls was very good, still hot, and three balls per entry. Boiled tripe was good, crunchy and still tasted fresh. Chicken feet in black bean was good, sauce not that flavorful. Daikon cakes were good. Tofu skin pork mushrooms were very good, steamed, hot. Mushroom rice roll was good, hot. Overall, food was average, 3 stars out of 5. I've ordered takeout from here many times when I'm craving dim sum for dinner and I finally dined in recently on a Saturday morning. Our party of 3 arrived around 11 and, although it was busy, we were able to get seated right away. They have a lot of smaller 4-person tables in the restaurant but not as many large family tables, so be prepared to wait if you come with a larger party. We ordered a large spread featuring most of the classics, including har gow, siu mai, xiao long bao, chicken feet, turnip cake, black bean pork ribs, and egg tarts. Everything was delicious! I grew up in HK and I moved to the Bay Area 10 years ago. Food is something I miss most about HK. I'm so glad that there's place like Dim Sum king where I don't just find authentic HK dim sum, but I can also find home-style dishes like steamed chicken, steamed fish etc. Today I was totally craving for HK style seafood like steamed lobster with garlic and spring onions and crabs with vermicelli. My friend and I came here for dinner and it was such a delight. Much better than many Chinese/HK restaurants in the Peninsula. Last minute decision to get some dim sum. Koi Palace had no availability so decided to go here as an alternative. Pros food came out fresh and hot . Cons- most of the stuff we order they didn't have. They told me no more sautéed pea sprouts yet the table next to us got pea sprout. Asked about tea but nothing else not offered any water. Our waitress was also cashier, answering the phone and the attention to our table was lacking. Had to ask for sauces, forks, additional tea. It wasn't that crowded but someone else should have been handle the phones, cashier, and greeter and seater. I didn't take any pictures because ... not very picturesque. I barely post any photos of my experience at Dim Sum King since I went with my whole family several times. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, my dad was the one who had chosen Dim Sum King in the Skyline Plaza. Whatever dim sum my brother chose for us, I'll eat whatever's good to my tongue. Fukian Fried rice and beef chow fun were the best main dishes we'll continue to have if we come back to Dim Sum King once again. Pork spareribs were my most favorite since my late childhood. If I have my way, I'll definitely choose more veggies as my best dim sum, with or without friends. Last we visited Dim Sum King, I noticed there were a bunch of ragged wooden chairs outside near the restaurant entrance. Will I have one of them? Rather not. Wonder what the staff members will do with them after they are replaced with brand new chairs. The interior of this tea restaurant doesn't need words to follow up since it's as good as other Chinese restaurants. We arrived around 2:30 or so and got a table fairly quickly. They noticed that my dad was in a wheelchair and gave us a table with some space, which meant a lot to me. Been going here for a while and had no issues until tonight. They had a new guy my family never seen take our order and he messed up two items. We asked for a whole garlic chicken and he puts down half is he had to fix that. We said we wanted the surf clam with string beans and golden chives he puts down the one with squid it in.
