I am quite shocked at the event that transpired today at your Richmond location. This was my first time trying your food, and I was quite displeased with the customer service. I came in today came in today to get lunch to go. Sign reads $9.99 per pound. I get my total cost and decide to withdraw my spinach . The manager brings my food up in a different format, causing the price to increase . I spoke about it and she said that the price was $9.99 per pound. I get to my car and check my email only that I've been charged $12.99 per pound for the protein And the vegetables, $9.99 per pound. I make my way back and ask for a refund and she smirk and told me no. I was totally turned off by the sequence of events. I left my food on the counter and proceeded to go eat somewhere else. Upon arriving in Houston in 1981 it wasn't long before someone introduced me to Mediterranean food. Demassi was the place to go. For many years, I never had a complaint. However, overtime, the quality of food is not consistent. The restaurants have strange odor, which I find mostly come from sewer gas. Sometimes they admit from the restroom and permeates throughout the restaurant. I have literally walked in and walked out because my stomach turned. Most recently I popped into the galleria location, which is the most convenient for me. Today's issues included: Food quality - the eggplant was not cooked properly and was very bitter. It also was not cooked long enough to create that buttery roasted flavor that's makes this dish so desirable. More and more I find this situation with the eggplant. When you do not prep eggplant properly, it is bitter. Baba ganouch and roasted eggplant are two of my favorites. And truly what I go there for. I was very disappointed. The eggplant was so bitter that it burned/stinged my mouth. To make things worse after I ate, I popped into the ladies room. The odor would knock you down. Again, I became nauseated from the smell. This is a simple fix. They need to hire a plumber to do a smoke test to find out where the sewer gas is coming from. And correct the issue. This is the most disgusting thing that can happen when you're in a restaurant is to smell sewer gas. They mask it with the cheap odor of fragrances and strong cleansers. All of which mixed together make it more disgusting. Each time this happens to me I go months at a time before ever trying to go back in to a Demasi restaurant. I can't be the only one that is feeling this way. The galleria restaurant is dirty, the floors are dirty, the chairs are grimy. This has got to be one of their most profitable locations. We had 3 meals delivered and they were good. This was the first time we've had fodd delivered from any Dimassi's. What I had was the Kafta kabob wrap, 3 stars, a Pita Sandwich Filled with Kafta, Fattoush, and Hummus. My wife got the falafel plate, Chickpea Fritters served with a choice of Rice, Salad, Dip and 1 Pita Bread. Our daughter-in-law got the Chicken kabob wrap, a Pita Sandwich Filled with Chicken Kabob, Fattoush, and Hummus. The price of delivery compared to the buffet means I'll probably go visit them but future delivery is a no go, plus the food isn't as good after sitting in a car for a while. read more

While it's not my favorite Dimassi's by any stretch, it's a perfect acceptable given its central location in the Galleria. It might not actually be the smallest location, but it certainly feels that way upon entering. Everything seems limited here, from the buffet to the items on there. The parking situation is ideal since it's part of massive shared lot and Dimassi's sits right at the corner. A few operational things that irk me a bit is that the buffet items aren't replenished quickly and dirty plates are often left around the place even when the rush is over. It's not a deal breaker, but it is an eye sore. The buffet selection is not vast, but there are some standout items. The salt and pepper cauliflower is always a hit and the freshly made zaatar is a treat. The chunks of lamb gyro taste better than they look and the baked chicken isn't the bomb version like at the Med Center. I don't love the salad selection so much and the desserts are somewhat limited. Still, there's enough here that I'd consider this a Dimassi's in a pinch. Service is super nice, but they're just a tad slow. The bathrooms is totally not nice, but it'll suffice. I think solo lunches and small groups would thrive here and it is going to be an ideal place to grub for a quick meal with decent variety and prices. read more

Outstanding food quality quantity and cleanliness, amazing taste real taste and halal o literally felt sitting in a resturant in Spain, Italy, Greece, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey, Israel or Syria . This was authentic Mediterranean quality tasteful cuisine with elegance, I am so happy to see resturant like this with affordable prices as halal , which now a days is proven like kosher and halal which means hand cut allowing all the blood of animal to flow out leaving clean cut meat . Di-mmmmm mmmmm mmmmmassi! Yum! Yum! Yum! Parking: It's in a shopping center with a substantial parking lot; however, there are a ton of businesses and its in walking distance from NRG. Just know that you will get a parking spot. May not be as close as you want, but you will get one. Cleanliness: They provide sanitizer and disposable gloves for you to use! I love love love that idea! So genius! I didn't see the same thing at the dessert station, so that is a recommendation there. This is a rather clean buffet in that the staff cleans the tables frequently. They even come by to get dirty plates and other trash off of table. Staff: The staff was super friendly. They were nice and polite. The Food: The food was great! The salads were fresh and the chicken curry was delish. I will say I was taken back by the Rose Water. It was yummy as well. It's healthy, the price is great, and yes, sometimes the chicken and meat are not as moist, but the variety and the price point make it one of my favorites! Stopped by on a busy Saturday and left surprised. The staff greeted us quickly, explained the menu, and checked in without hovering. I ordered the brisket tacos and a house margarita; both were fresh, flavorful, and well priced. The space was clean, lively, and not too loud for conversation. Food came out fast and hot. Fantastic buffet with an amazing variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. I have never dined in but often get food to go. They have great take out boxes that are reusable. We were in Houston and on a vegetarian fast. Yelp helped guide us to this spot. We ordered online then popped in to pick it up. However a glitch did not transmit the order to the restaurant. Online snafus have happened before followed by wasted minutes of "did nots & did toos" from staff thinking they were being scammed. But "no worries" here, the management did not miss a beat and took care of us when we showed the order receipt & confirmation on my phone. We got a little concerned when we saw them get our food off the buffet but that went away when we looked at the quality (and quantity) of food available on that buffet. For the price, you really can't beat it especially if you get the lamb shanks. Lots of parking space and the workers are quick at re-filling food, cleaning the tables and taking away your plates. Also not too loud or quiet. There is so much variety of side dishes, salads and main dishes. The quality of the food is better than expected for a buffet (small note: the regular hummus is more on the bland side but the other hummuses are pretty good). I have to come here multiple times just to try everything. I frequently come here and wish they expanded outside Texas. Definitely a must visit. read more

I was definitely impressed by the amount of available options. There is a wide variety of meats, salads, hummus (they had 3 types), sides, breads, desserts, and more to choose from. Everything was fresh and filled to the brim. The rose water was really tasty and a nice touch. You can come here as a carnivore, a vegan, someone looking to eat clean/healthy, or someone looking to stuff their face -- and you'll leave satisfied, I think. I was in Houston for about five days and stayed in the Uptown/Galleria district. Using Yelp to find and bookmark the sorts of places I normally frequent in California, I discovered this restaurant was conveniently located in the same shopping center on Richmond as TJ Maxx (slippers purchased), a good Pet shop (toys for kitty), Specs Liquor etc, and a future expansion Smashburger. This Middle Eastern restaurant differs from most because of the buffet option, which at lunchtime has an excellent price. The food looks great, no doubt about that, but I was most interested in a wrap sandwich and inquired about that. They have chicken kabob, beef kafta, gyro, and falafel. Rolling backwards momentarily, I had refused to give a guy, probably an addict, cash outside, but I often test motivation by offering food, if indeed that's what the person really wants. I can afford to be charitable periodically and he took up my offer to buy a sandwich, he chose chicken, and I picked beef. The nice girl at the counter mentioned they had a spicy option, so we both said that sounded great. Admittedly, I was trying to distance myself from the dude, and the girl understood that I was being nice to a degree, even when he asked her for a drink cup. She gave me one too and smiled. Anyhow, I left the restaurant and ate my sandwich across the street but it was so good! The meat was cooked well, and the spicy sauce added an extra dimension. I returned a couple days later to try a chicken wrap, also spicy. While very good I preferred the beef. I wasn't hungry enough to go for the buffet, but maybe next time? All star all you can eat buffet totally worth the $16.99 especially if you eat veg and non veg food. There are limitless options and I dare you to try them all! So many salads, hummus, baba ghani yah, falafel, baked potatoes and veggies, zatar pita bread, pizza were just among the veg food I tried. Spicy hummus and zatar bread were my favorite. Pleasant surprise. Ordered from here on Uber Eats because of a special offer and good reviews on there. And then noticed that it's a buffet! You wouldn't know it from the food. The chicken and kafta kebabs were flavorful and tender. The rice with lentils was delicious and filling. And the avocado and regular humus were excellent. Good food for a good price with reasonable portion size is increasingly rare these days. It's not a fancy restaurant, but it is very good. Now I'll have to go try it in person sometime. read more

I will say I have ate at many Dimassi's Mediterranean Restaurants and this one has not impressed me much. The Food was of large scale but many entrées which I enjoy eating was either too salty to consume or dry. My favorite the Gyro Meat had more dry meat and some were cut to thick with very little to its taste as well as the Noodle Soup. The Chicken was well seasoned and so was the Rice so plus on that side of the entrée. My first impression was not of a good nature due to some tables being dirty but since I was in a group, I was out voted. The hostess was very pleasant in every way so she gets my rating of 4.0 but overall I give this place a 3.6 rating. read more

They had plentiful options various meats, rices, pasta salad, breads and sides; they also had a good Greek salad with the works. It's a meh for me, yelp fam. I came by for takeout, and you actually have to pick through their buffet lineup because they don't do like order ahead a la carte. There's plenty of parking since the whole plaza is basically lined with a bunch of other shops and restaurants. When you walk in, they provide gloves, take-out containers for your dining needs, and hand sani. People were dining in when I went, and there were a few other people doing the buffet walk-through for takeout. I was pretty excited since the reviews looked awesome, but I think a buffet takeout setup leaves little freshness for the experience. The falafels were dry and not the crispy around the edges kind of texture. Their fish was still hot, but it wasn't the best fish I've tasted in terms of flavor. They have lots of sides like chips and pita breads you can dip into various sauces and dip like hummus, tabbouleh, etc. The dips were probably my favorite part of the dining experience. The lady at the service counter was very friendly and kind, so she gets 5 stars with my experience. The food was lackluster for me, at least for COVID takeout. The restaurant itself looked clean and busy. I guess I've just been spoiled with fresh Mediterranean food after living in San Diego for a while. But Dimassi's was lukewarm for this gal. read more
