Chicago has a lot of pizza, as does NYC. Some of it bad, some good. I stumbled across this place at a festival. I wanted a nosh and was drawn in by the different toppings, like Mac and cheese, corn ,and of course my favorite, just plain cheese. This pizza is one of the better slices I gave had in recent memory. It is always a bummer when pizza disappoints. Not this one. The crust is thin, light and flaky. The sauce just right, a touch of bite, but not bitter. The portion was more than adequate, the cheese was just enough. It is always nice to find people passionate about what they do. It was explained to me that they taste tested 12 different cheese combinations and the marinara sauce has a secret ingredient. A few days later, I was at a friend's house and they ordered for delivery. 3 different pizzas arrived, pronto. Hot, fresh, delish. No hiccups in the ordering or delivery process. I have never been to this location, to eat in. Everything I have had from here has been ordered out. I do love Dimo's. Let's face it, Chicago is a great pizza town. Probably the best in the country. Suck it, New York. Chicago has it all - deep dish (of course), thin crust, classic toppings, weird shit, gourmet, and everything in between. Sure, I've had better thin crust in Santa Cruz, CA and my favorite deep dish is in Tucson, AZ. But overall, Chicago is the pizza capital of the universe, and I'll fight anyone who says differently! So that brings us to Dimo's. Do you like Hawaiian? You will die for theirs - pulled pork and fresh pineapple. Amazing. But they really shine with some of the more unique gourmet pizzas. Seafood, duck, mac 'n cheese and a bunch of others. Dino's has some great stuff. Order early, as they run out of some stuff. And that should tell you something. Their pizzas are great and a lot of people order them. They do deliver to a wide area of Lakeview and Wrigleyville. And if they are longer than expected in delivering, they will give you a coupon for a free slice. Not the 'screw you' attitude of some places. Dino's has both deep dish and thin crust pizzas, classic and new. The crust is delicious, chewy and well cooked. The toppings are fresh and carried, and in a good quantity. I'd like more cheese and more sauce on the pizzas, but both are well flavored. In a city that has amazing pizzas, you could do a lot worse than Dimo's. read more

Had the pepperoni pizza again because it was extremely good last time, but the sauce had a strange taste. The BBQ Chicken Ranch pizza on the other hand was amazing. So much flavor and so crisp. I just can't get over how much different the pepperoni pizza tasted. The little pepperonis were just as I remembered them though. read more

I came in here with a supper hungry stomach. My friend and I were in a bit of a rush, for we only had 2 hrs before class started. This was our first time here. The girl with the short black hair, who helped with our order was supper friendly. She went through the menu, informing us what they offered and how concoctions could be made. And after a minute we ordered a 12 inch sausage pepperoni. As simple as pepperoni and sausage could be, the ingredients here we're good and complimented the thin pizza well. Really flavorful and unique pizzas! We ordered the largest size with half and half The Buff Chick and the Chicky Chicky Parm Parm, then a 12in Al Pastor. All three were super filling but we could not stop at just one slice! The Buff Chick was mainly a BBQ Chicken and had a nice kick to it and the chess sprinkled on top was super delish, the Chicky Parm had different cheeses and a different sauce so it was a nice flavor change from the Buff Chick. The Al Pastor was the winner in my heart, because it was just so savory, smoky, cheesy, and all around delicious. Will for sure be ordering from here again! read more

I LOVE PIZZA and this place is great. My 1st time in Chicago I asked a bartender where I should go for a slice after I left the bar and she recommended​ Dimos. Side note always ask a local bartender for advice or recommendations​ if you want the best ones fyi they will always lead you the right way and give you some options. Sue and I stopped in for a slice before going to the IO theater to see a friend perform. Like a seashore pizza place the way its set up with the wooden tables. Sometimes, you have to sit with someone you don't know. The pie was good but, not the best I have had . I had the Mac n cheese and Sue had the chicken and pesto, both white. I will be going back to try one with sauce since I did not get to try it. Reminds me of Lorenzo's on South street in Philly. Formerly known as Ian's, Dimo's is pretty much the same place. A variety of specialty pizzas sold by the slice. If you're out and about late in Wrigleyville and looking for a bite, Dimo's is worth the short walk. It's hard to comment on their menu since it changes fairly often, but I've never had a really bad slice here. Just recently I tried the chicken and waffle pizza was had a great balance of sweet and salty on it. They also had some pizzas with a black bean base instead of tomato sauce, which gave it a heartier, chewier feel. Great stuff. They also have a weekly special, and it feels like every time I go I wish I was there for the next week's special. Not that the current's week's was bad...maybe just a case of me wanting what I can't have? Either way, the variety at Dimo's is so big you can usually find something to your tastes, and that's why I love bringing groups here. read more

Attention Chicago. This is what a thin crust pizza is supposed to look like and taste like! As a native New Yorker, few things annoy me more than a "thin crust" pizza where the crust is thinner than a cracker, the toppings are buried under the cheese, and the pie is cut into 16 little tiny squares. It's a sacrilege. So I definitely appreciate Dimo's with their large, filling slices and creative toppings. My first selection was a slice of spinach/roasted peppers/tomatoes. The proportions were pretty balanced, with a good amount of veggies and cheese to crust. The veggies tasted very fresh, not overdone, and I liked the crunch of the crust. I do wish the outer crust had been a little thicker, just so I could chew it a little bit more. Also, I tend to like a saucier pizza, but there was just enough where it didn't taste like just a flatbread. My second choice was a slice chicken parmesan pizza. This was tremendous. It had bits of seasoned fried chicken along with a little parsley and parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. I would order this one again. I got a large glass bottle of Coke and I only paid $10. That's pretty much a steal for downtown. Not only that, but the guys behind the counter are very approachable. They explained some of the different slices I had questions about and were even open to hearing my feedback about some different topping ideas like adding an olive oil base option. My guess is this place does the majority of their business after 10pm. They serve up big, New York style pizza slices designed to soak up any booze in your stomach after an evening at the bars. Some of the pies in the window did look sad like they'd been sitting there awhile...but I opted for one that looked fresher, and it was delightful after a few moments warming up in the pizza oven. This used to be Ian's, now it's Dimo's. The interesting variety of pizza is the same. The Pizza slices all need some sort of explanation, there are many to choose from, and nothing is basic really, but that's OK, the staff is helpful and friendly. I had chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese and ranch..it was great!~ I have been here when it was Ian's and it is the same stuff. The owners didn't want to pay a franchise fee, so they branched off. (when asked) If you are going to a baseball game at Wrigley Field, and some cheap eats, go here first. Then to Wrigley Field. I've been here many times and absolutely love the pizza!! My go-to slice is the CPA (chicken parmesan alfredo) and my husband loves the chicken bacon cheddar BBQ ranch. Funny story but when we were finding out the gender of our baby, we gave the person the envelope with the ultrasound and said if it's a girl, give us the CPA (since that's my favorite) and if it's a boy give us the chicken BBQ ranch (since it is his favorite). They did this for us happily. In the box once we got home we celebrated over chicken BBQ ranch- it was a boy! Now he's 4 months old and soon enough I'll walk him over for some bites of pizza. The person on the phone said they didn't know where our pizza was and couldn't do anything for us except for a refund. We asked if they could still deliver the pizza and they said the eta would be 3 hours. They didn't even offer us anything for our troubles, considering we waited two hours for nothing. Dimo's is my go to whenever I'm craving pizza. The food is always amazing and they've got some really cool slices, my favorite is either the chicken penne alfredo or buffalo chicken. They have a punch card system too which is nice because of how often I go, if you buy 10 slices you get the 11th free. This place is extremely popular with the locals. It is conveniently adjacent to Wrigleyfield and also Boystown. :) The pizza here is delicious. So, you pick the slices that you want and they put it in the oven to reheat. They have some interesting varieties of pizza including some kind of tortilla topped pizza and a philly cheesesteak pizza. I had a philly cheesesteak pizza and it was delicious. This place is BYOB (Bring your own beer). It was quite evident that people brought their own beer. When popular songs would play in the restaurant, people would start singing to it. I think this place has a great vibe. Sitting space is scarce though. read more

Gooey and yummy with the right kind of chocolate, melted mallow and graham craker makes this pizza to die for. And so yes, please ask if you wanna try a certain pizza cos they will make it for you. I just wanted a big-ass slice of pizza. It was late and the place we'd normally hit was closed. Yelp brought me here. I was kinda bummed that they didn't have a just-regular-ole-pizza option. Pepperoni, perhaps. They had a vegan option, Mac and cheese, some BBQ chicken number. We went with chicken and waffles. I had apprehensions. The first bite was... sweet. Awesome pizza if you're looking for a quick bite. They always have a lot of freshly made options, with nontraditional flavors like mac n' cheese, chicken BBQ, cubano, etc. Every time I go I try a new slice and they've all been good so far! It gets pretty crowded when if you're there on a weekend night, but the staff is really great about moving the line down quickly, which is really impressive because half the people walking in are some level of drunk! I enjoyed the salesmanship and the adventurous spirit of some of the pizzas, but they didn't all hit the mark. We stopped in to grab a slice or two before heading into the Cubs game on Memorial Day, and I think we made the right decision. Good, foldable slices - they do the standard pizzeria by the slice thing of having several pizzas prepped and sitting out on the counter, and then when you order, they grab a slice and send it back into the oven to reheat. This does have the advantage of making the crust crisper (most of the time). We got several different slices - a mac & cheese slice, a chicken taco slice, a standard sausage and 'roni slice, and a slice of what they were calling "General Fukudome's Chicken" in a nod to the linchpin business of the neighborhood. Honestly, the mac & cheese pizza was my least favorite - it's just a carb overload. I love mac & cheese, and I love pizza, but this combo just didn't do it for me. The chicken taco slice was actually pretty good, as was the "General Fukudome's Chicken" which was not even really a General Tso's knockoff, but rather more a teriyaki chicken and broccoli pizza. The staff were really nice and helpful in picking out slices; in fact, I'd say the guy working the counter was something of a salesman - he had a really good patter and rhythm going in describing the varieties of pizza that they had. All in all, I'll be back to try some more slices. read more
