We went to Dimo's pizza at 1615 n Damon Ave. it's a nice little spot with a hodgepodge decor, they encourage people to feel free to self decorate, some booths had graffiti, some had stickers, tables were etched and they had quite the display of bicycles hanging from the ceiling. They have a wide variety of pizzas; yes they have your sausage pizza, pepperoni pizza but they also have some out of the box pizzas. We had the chicken parmigiana pizza, the chicken and waffles pizza (Fried chicken, melted butter, mozzarella and homemade mini waffle bites on a house white sauce base, topped with orange-habanero honey.) this was a sweet and savory pizza the crunch of the waffles and the sweet and heat from the orange-habanero honey was exhilarating , the speck pizza (speck(kind like prosciutto ) arugula, ricotta and cherry peppers) was interesting; each bite was slightly different but tasty, and the Dad Bod pizza (Pulled pork, pepperjack cheese, and french fried onions on a mozzarella and housemade BBQ sauce base, topped with housemade spicy ranch) was my favorite, it had everything, sweet, savory and a little heat. So glad this place was open!! 11pm on a Wednesday night and it was a pretty full house! We ordered a full sized vegan sausage pizza. So good!! No after taste or weird texture from the cheese. Delicious spot for pizza! They do giant NY style slices of pizza and offer lots of unique toppings. They are open late too, which is great for any late night cravings. I've tried the bbq chicken and the mac and cheese pizzas. Both are super good! The slices are $5 each, but seems like a pretty good deal since they are big and heavy on the toppings. YUM! read more

In town for the weekend and I had stop here. Upon arrival the first thing I noticed was the set up of the restaurant, definitely a nice hippyish vibe in there I loved it. Also spacious inside I was immediately greeted by some very nice and helpful workers. So ambiance and and customer service gets a 5/5 Now the pizza was actually better than expected. My Bf and I got single slices for $5 a piece which isn't bad considering a single slice is HUGE, definitely reminds me of NY pizza. We tried the BBQ chicken pizza and the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza, I loved both of them! We would've tried more but they were out of our other choices, but that gives us a reason to return :) Pizza gets a 5/5 Overall I will definitely be back and I definitely recommend! As you can tell from my past reviews, I don't leave many unless I really have to. I should leave more good than bad, but I have no time, however I made time today to make this one. I walked in there to get lunch today for the umpteen time. The cheeze pizza was all burnt as usual, but this time, all the selections were burnt, I would've chosen a different pizza but I couldn't. I'm from New York where the best pizza in the world is made, and Dimos came close to the taste of that pizza from New York then anyone else in Chicago! However, lately and for maybe the past few years the cook that they hired has been burning the pizza it's always burnt. Its sad and terrible that they let one bad cook spoil the broth!!!! It's a great tasting pizza so--this is my promise if they stop burning the pizza I will take this bad but sincere review down but until then this is going to get out to people so maybe when they start losing business they'll see that they cook is costing them customers.! I really like Dimo's. I typically describe Dimo's as a New York lite pizza shop with a California free spirit. The pizza crust is thin and comes in large slices like they do in New York but the pizza toppings are way free spirit, Chicken Penne toppings, Chicken and Waffles, vegetarian slices as well as vegan. There are so many varieties to chose from which makes it so fun to eat and less boring. I have even tried the salads from Dimo's which are pretty good. Of course, what I like most is the price. A couple of slices will fill you up for under $10.00. And if it's payday, you can splurge on their spirits selection from a Daisy Cutter to canned sodas and more. The dining room is spacious and can accommodate large crowds with their overly long booths or enjoy your slice on the couch while watching a movie which they have shown from time to time on the wall via a projector. read more

Dimos is like if your hip cousin opened up a pizza parlor and it's great. There's drink, salads and pizza! Every time I go there's a different special and they are always tasty. The seating is cozy and great to meet up with friends. Make sure you keep your loyalty punch card for a free slice! With that said, a couple friends and I wanted something different and we had their BBQ Chicken Pizza. We chose Dimo's as they have GREAT reviews highlighting this pizza in particular. It arrived FAST! ((our delivery driver was awesome and came in on her bike)) The pizza was HUGE! ((the large is plenty for 4 or more)) The price was FAIR! ((compared to what you get from others in the area)) TBH this place reminds me of a nicer "Dantes Inferno" which I'm still heart broken they closed their location near me. So what was it that threw off my experience?? Well the BBQ Chicken Pizza comes with ranch on top and that flavor totally overpowered the BBQ Sauce and the other toppings. With that said, I like their style of pizza and want to give them another try with something more traditional. If you do decide to go with the BBQ Chicken Pizza, I'd recommend asking for the ranch on the side so you can DIP and control the flavor as it really does overpower all the other flavors. And NO.... One of the best pizza places I've ever been to in terms of ambiance, flavor, and service. The pizza slices were pricey, but so was everything else. BUT, the wonderful lady behind the counter gave me a discount for my second order (had to try the cheesy garlic bread). The pizza slice itself was gas (I got buffalo, blue cheese, and my ex got bacon, pickled carrots, tomatoes), but was a very weird combination of ingredients. There are normal slices, too. The cheesy garlic bread is a must after they freshly warm it up. The graffiti, the art, the hanging bikes, the stickers, half the tables are covered in art and the other half aren't, all make the place unique and a must go to. I have gone to Dimo's so many times in the past few years, and am always SO appreciative at the sheer breadth of options they have - particularly the vegetarian and vegan ones, as it's so hard to find unique options in those arenas! The only downside is that the vegan slices - although delicious - are often very oily and sometimes merit dabbing with a napkin. The slices are also so filling for their price, so it's very worth going. We got 3 of their 12 inch pizzas for a picnic! They were all really good, but we were a little disappointed by the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was a little dry, and I was expecting their to be some sort of spice/flavor to it. Still really good and would get again! Our favorite pizzas were the elote then Florentine then Mac and cheese. The elote was SO good, and I'd definitely get again. I was with my vegetarian friend, so we didn't get any meat pizzas, but I'd definitely want to go back and try some of the ones that they have on their menu.
