Like many IG/tik tok places this one is all hype and no substance. Overpriced food made with cheap ingredients - not authentic and as a bonus they will make you wait 1 hour for food. They most likely won't be able to serve the viral container/drink combo as there are only a couple untrained workers there and they seem severely disorganized. They could be making bank except they can't get it together long enough to produce orders at a normal pace. If you have 3-4 hours to spend for lunch of Chinese takeout food made from low quality ingredients then this place is for you. read more

This was a really fun lunch with the kids. I was torn between 4 and 5 stars. The pork soup dumplings and beef noodles were definitely 5 star. The other dumplings were good but not as good and the mochi dessert was so so. Hence the overall 4 star rating. If I went back, which I would love to do, I would get just soup dumplings and noodles and that would be a 5 star meal. i got seated quickly which i appreciate but i kinda wish someone had told me it was a QR code to scan to order. a water was dropped off but there was no i'll be with you shortly or scan to order added onto it or anything. My whole order took a bit of time to come out what suprised me most was how long the drink (the rose blossom lemonade) took to come out. The tingly beef noodles were divine. They had like a subtle spiciness to them and the beef was juicy and tender. The noodles were perfectly cooked too. The item that took the longest was the the pork soup dumplings. They were huge! The taste was fine as well. After getting the dumplings, I asked if I should pay through the QR code as well and the waitress said no she'll bring me the check and that took a while as well. The restaurant is well decorated and perfectly clean. Three ladies were stoically cranking out dumplings and I asked to take picture. Hey... I can do that. I'm a tourist! Steve greeted and seated us and let us peruse the online menu. He was super helpful and friendly to us which was appreciated since it was our first visit. No rush! Came to this area for jury day for a party of one. I was lucky and avoided the wait. Food is ordered via the qr code and it's pretty straightforward. My food came without speaking to the wait staff. I ordered the tonkatsu noodles and a taro bubble tea. The taro bubble tea came first. It satisfied my bubble tea craving at the time. The bubbles were chewy which is a plus, but if the bubbles were a bit sweeter, it would totally hit the spot. The tonkatsu was good and filling. Plenty of flavor. We had the pork soup dumplins, char sui bao, salt and pepper chicken, spicy cumin lamb fried noode, tingly beef fried noodle, and the vegetable scallion pancake wrap. The soup dumplings were hot and juicy and had great flavor. The salt and pepper chicken was crispy and came with a nice aioli. The char sui bao were light and fluffy and had nice chunks of pork in them. The noodle dishes had options of multiple noodle types from thin to hand pulled (Ramen, Thick, Kudai). We had a ramen and a kudai. Noodles were well cooked and flavorful, with a good portion. Our service was nice and attentive. I would recommend stopping by! read more

Was staying in downtown Brooklyn and found this spot randomly on a rainy night while I was craving soup dumplings. The restaurant itself is super cute with a warm interior and an stand where you can see them making the dumplings from scratch. Although I was eating by myself I had to try a few dishes and was super happy with everything I ordered. I started with the pork soup dumplings which were really the star! There is a ton of soup and for someone who likes the soup to be on the sweeter it was perfect for my taste and full of flavor. The meat and skin were also excellent and a great way to start the meal. I also ordered the garlic string beans which was yummy and lighter than other meat places which I enjoyed as I was craving vegetables. I also added on an order of vegetable dumplings which definitely turned out to be too much food but they were great, not too heavy and will make for excellent leftovers. I came here on a Friday night at around 5:30 with two others with no reservation and it wasn't a problem but it did get filled up pretty quickly. Just in case, it might be good to see if they take reservations. My friend trickled in at 5:40 and my boyfriend came in at around 6:00pm? It took a very long time to get serviced. I was there since 5:30 and we didn't get any water until we asked maybe at around 6:20. That's sort of unacceptable. I forget when we placed our order but it was before we got our drinks. The waitress was super nice and smiley though so the service was probably just a tad slow but once they get going, it's good. Luckily, the food starting coming out and it was actually quite good. We got the stir fry noodles, pork and crab soup dumplings, chicken dumplings, osmanthus cake, a scallion wrap, a bubble tea with no bubbles (lol). The dumplings came with two sauces and one of them was a garlicky one. That sauce was soooooo good!! This dish was probably the best and then the cakes. My bubble tea drink was also very satisfying. Stir fry noodle had great flavor but it was a pretty basic dish. The pork and crab soup dumplings were one of the better ones out there, better than some places in Chinatown. 3.5 stars. Came here for lunch during jury duty. It's a quick walk from the courts. They get busy with take out orders during lunch time. One of the lunch specials was 5 soup dumplings and an order of scallion pancake for $10.95 - pretty good lunch deal. They had 2 other lunch specials but I didn't want noodles. I wanted to order the Mushroom Baos but they said they ran out (weird considering it was only 1ish). The soup dumplings were pretty good though a bit on the sweeter side and the skin was thicker. Scallion pancakes weren't greasy so that's plus. When the bill came, I paid with a credit card. One of the workers said there was a $15 minimum for credit card (despite no signage stating that) and asked if I had cash which I said no. He accepted my credit card so maybe it's just a preference for cash over card and not a real minimum. read more

She hovered over us , watching us eat food and trying to take plates away before we were done eating but was not around to refill waters; maybe she was new and still learning though? Perhaps the best soup dumplings I've had. This is not your average Chinese/dim sum spot. Every dumpling and roll here is made on the spot, inside the restaurant, and you can watch them fold and press the dough which is very cool. The pork soup dumplings especially are beyond! Like, 10 stars good. So rich and comforting and served so hot and fresh. They serve them with the usual ginger sauce and this unusual minced-garlic sauce on the side, picture below. It's like crack, you must try this. The truffle pork is also delicious, as is the veggie wrap and baked pork bun. The mochi dessert was just eh, but I would try other desserts and get even more dumplings next time. The service is so kind and patient, too. One of my favorite foods is soup dumplings, and I am always looking to try restaurants that pride themselves with their soup dumplings. Din Soup Dumplings was on my friend's list of places to go, so we decided to hit it up. I was not disappointed! We got two batches - the pork soup dumplings and the veggie dumplings. I really loved the pork soup dumplings! It was piping hot when it came out, and when I ate it, I loved how it the juice just exploded in my mouth. I know there is the proper way to eat it (make a small hole in the dumpling, then let some of the soup come out, sip the juice, then put it in your mouth - I've come across Youtube videos on how to eat them...), but I personally like to just blow on it a couple of times, then pop the whole thing in my mouth. Once I have my first chew, I love the feeling of the dumpling and juice exploding in my mouth. So satisfying! The pork soup dumplings definitely exploded much juice in my mouth and I was fully satisfied. With the veggie dumpling, it was good, but not as exciting as the pork soup dumpling. The dumpling was very aesthetically pleasing to the eye though. I thought the molding of the dumpling as green leaves were very cute. The place was very clean and I loved the layout of the restaurant. I really loved the painting they had on the wall - it was signed off as having been painted in 2021, if I remember correctly. I was really excited to try this new dumpling place, literally a block and a half away from my apartment. The soup dumplings were what caught my attention, but on a recent first visit, BF and I decided to order other items from the menu. We ordered the fried wontons with peanut sauce, as a starter, and then the braised porkchop soup noodle dishes. And then waited, and waited. About 30 minutes later, the noodles arrived. Steaming meaty broth, decent amount of braised pork, albeit on the bone and lots of what look handmade flat noodles with some greens. The broth was ok, not as flavorful as I've had at other places in the past. The serving size was generous and I did not finish. about 10 minutes after the noodles arrived, the wontons arrived. And the centerpiece peanut sauce was not there. So we hailed the server down, who acknowledged the missing sauce, and we finally got our sauced wontons. The peanut sauce was delicious, although I'm not sure it was worth the wait. BF complained about some gristle in his wonton. Mine were good. When we asked for the bill, we were asked to pay cash, because their lines were down. Service is clearly not up to speed yet. We heard another table complaining about their bill and being charged items that had not been ordered. I'll give it some time, and try them one more time in the future. In the meantime, there's always Yaso Tang Bao about 10 minutes away. read more

The noodles were chewy and tender. -- the pork and crab soup dumplings were hot and delicious - didn't disappoint. Nice to not have to cross the bridge into Manhattan for soup dumplings. -- the pork and chive dumplings were juicy - the handmade outer portion were a bit stiffer than I'd prefer but still delicious. -- a hidden dim sum gem is the steamed Bean Curd rolls that were light and fluffy on the outside and juicy pork and shrimp and wood ear mushrooms on the inside The convenience of this all being in Brooklyn Heights is totally welcome and worth (yes it may be a tad more than similar finds in Manhattan) -- but having authentic and high quality Shanghainese food and even a glimpse of dim sum is much needed for this neighborhood. I hesitate to write this review, because I really don't want this to become everyone's go-to dumpling spot, but they honestly deserve it. Came in after reading an article that gave them a mention saying "you don't need to go to Manhattan for good dim sum", and this place proved that statement right! Grabbed a bit of everything; porn soup dumplings w/scallion pancakes, shrimp dumplings, chicken dumplings, and sautéed broccoli. Everything was seriously on point. The broccoli was perfectly cooked, and the flavor was excellent. Only thing I'd change is if it were Chinese broccoli, but I know that's expensive right now, so happy for the cheap substitute to keep costs down. The soup dumplings were awesome, as were the chicken and cabbage. Shrimp dumplings were good, but thought there was a bit too much noodle on the base if I'm being picky. Service was fine, nothing to highlight. We did have to ask for chili sauce and they didn't assumptively bring hot tea, but otherwise, I'd definitely say this place is as good if not better than the top dim sum spots in Manhattan. We ordered the lunch special - cucumber salad , pork soup dumplings and shrimp dumplings. It was all scrumptious but we enjoyed the soup dumplings the best. The skin was perfect with the right amount of chew .. the filling was meaty , super flavorful and one bite transported me right back to the dumpling houses in Shanghai similar to the experience the food critic in the heart warming movie Ratatouille experienced as he took one bite of ratatouille . I've been to this place twice. They have a funky animatronic noodle thing in front and for some reason there isn't an image of their menu outside the restaurant but part of this might be growing pains as they opened rather recently. The first time I went here was when they had been open for just a week or two and they have since expanded the menu. The first time I ordered two dishes off of their dim sum section with one of my choices not being available that afternoon and the other time I got noodles. My first order was the Fried tiny buns/Shen jian bao aka pan-fried pork buns. These came with four small ones to the order which was a bit different than other places. While the pork had good flavor, I prefer a larger one as the dough will have a nicer chewy texture. Still tasty and it went well with the sauce. I also had the Soup dumplings/Xiao long bao which were also fine. The wrapping was nice and thin and the pork inside was yet again tasty but the soup was a little bit too light for my liking. Overall both were fine. The other time I had the cumin lamb noodles with kudai noodles. Kudai/裤带面 or belt noodles are essentially biang biang noodles and they were nice and bouncy. The lamb was well flavored with my only complaint being that there wasn't enough cumin and it wasn't spicy enough for my liking. Still very tasty with a nice big portion. Overall the food here is tasty. If this was a place in some other parts of Brooklyn or in parts of Queens/Manhattan with a larger Chinese population and more noodles/dim sum, I probably would give them a 3 but as the area is lacking, I'll bump it up a bit.
