I tried to eat at this establishment recently, and when my pizza was delivered to my table there were water-bug legs on the pan. I tried to complain to management that there should not be insect particles on the table or around my food. The owner responded, "What would you like for me to do? I am sure there are flies flying around, a few cockroaches in the urinals, and maybe the legs are from one of them." I was livid and left the restaurant with my wife and kids. Completely dissatisfied and appalled at how the owner reacted to the situation. Will not be revisiting. read more

First off the food is incredible here. It's always consistent and the portion sizes are incredible. What kills it is the service. I live out of town and whenever I come to Barstow, Dinapolis has always Been one of the first stops. Unfortunately the past three times the service has been atrocious. This time we waited ten minutes after sitting down before our drink order was taken, another ten before our drinks arrived and after ordering another 20 before our food arrived. Then after someone came and asked us if we needed Anything else it Took another 10+ minutes to get the check. Now if It was busy it would barely pass as acceptable, however there were only two other tables with anyone at them. I'm not sure where to go with my patronage towards them. On one hand the food is incredible and on the other the service is horrid. How many chances can you give a restaurant before taking your business elsewhere? A little pricey for me, but this is a great food spot with a cozy environment. I always enjoy my meal here. My old standby is a personalized calzone. Not even half way through watching "The Godfather", my partner decided he wanted Italian food... so we made our way to DiNapolis! It was the first time both of us had ever been there and we were VERY impressed! The food was amazing and the service was great! Our waitress was very attentive. I decided I wanted a Calzone and soon I discovered that it about the size of my head! Definitely get your money's worth! My partner also enjoyed his Seafood Pasta and the sides. He also enjoyed a Cannoli, while I enjoyed their cheesecake! This is definitely a place we will be visiting frequently. read more

We went to DiNapoli's tonight and were very impressed! I saw some of the negative reviews on here and was a little sketchy but I was totally wrong. Our waitress was nice and had everything to us in a reasonable amount of time. Everything was cooked nicely and tasted great! My husband for a main course got the shrimp scampi and his only negative comment was the amount of butter but he said the shrimp were great! I got the baked ziti and my only negative comment was it needed a bit more salt, but nothing I couldn't handle myself. We also got calamari and mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and were quite impressed and we got tiramisu and a cannoli for dessert and both were totally awesome! All around a great dinner experience and we will for sure be back!! read more

The food is outstanding. The sauces are very good - you can taste the "homemade" quality within all the dishes. The ranch is 10/10 and the small pre meal salad is one of the best I've ever had. So what's the issue: portion size. I'm all about paying premium for a premium product. DiNapolis has the highest prices (not by much) in Barstow and that's okay. But when your chicken dishes approach $20 you absolutely can't give one smallish piece of chicken. It should be 2 breasts. It's so frustrating bc I want to give them 5 stars, but with one measly piece of chicken I left still feeling somewhat hungry. They really need to rethink how much chicken comes with their chicken dishes. I'll gladly give a 5 star in the future! read more

Decent food, probably better for dinner, we went for lunch and did not want pasta. The clam chowder was good and it came with a side salad. The portions were huge! Stopped for late lunch on the way home from Vegas and didn't regret it. Food is good and huge portions. We had the eggplant and one of the calzones and the mushroom appetizer. As someone said before me, bit overboard with the butter on the latter. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the food is really good. Excellent selection and wonderful atmosphere. What keeps this location from five stars is the service. Drove all the way from Victorville to Barstow, passed up the Apple Valley location for this one. Big mistake. Came in with a party of 7, were told 20 minutes for the wait and actually asked if we wanted to sit separately. We declined and accepted the wait. We watched as several others came in and were seated. We were asked again if we wanted to sit separately and again we declined. One of our party members was a five year old boy. One hour we sat and waited and watched people come and go and struggled to keep the five year old manageable. Finally, one of our party members began wandering the dining area and found an empty booth that seated us just fine. He asked if we could have it. We literally seated ourselves. I asked for water with lemon, did not get my lemon. Another 30 minutes for our food and not once was our extensive wait acknowledged or apologized for. After the food arrived, our waitress failed to refill our drinks until I asked her to, and then she brought three large sprites to the table when we needed those plus a child's sprite refill. When I asked her for a refill of the child's drink, she actually asked me if I wanted to pour one of the large sprites into my sons cup. I asked for a fresh cup for him, I felt like I was putting her out. Just paid $100 for one of the worst service experiences of my life. read more

Seafood Pasta had fake seafood! Yup, that "crab meat" had actual bubbles in the middle from the molding process. It is the rubbery fishcake stuff that comes in big frozen bags at Asian supermarkets, made mostly from rice starch. It was described as "sauteed in butter with basil and garlic" but none of these flavors came out. Perhaps they waved some basil and garlic over the plate ceremonially? I think that they use the fake "grilling butter" that comes in huge jugs. Tastes like they're using that same fake butter for their "garlic bread" which has no flavor or odor of garlic at all. Just drizzled in "butter flavored" vegetable oil and powdered Parmesan cheese with some dried Italian seasoning sprinkled on and then broiled for a couple of minutes. My wife got the entree-portion cesar salad, and paid the entree price for it, but it was the size of a side salad. On the other hand, the seafood pasta and even the child's size spaghetti my child got were large portions. The salad just didn't match. Service was adequate but not friendly, as I've come to expect California-wide. The carpet really needed attention. read more

OK food, just don't try to make a reservation. Called ahead for a business dinner with 10 people, and they said they only do reservations for more than 25 people. They said if they have a table they would seat up. Not conducive for a business dinner in a town with far too few options. Go elsewhere for your business dinners read more

Corrine was our waitress and provided excellent service. The 2 stars is solely about the food. We ordered a Calamari appetizer and we both agreed that it was probably pre-packaged. Every ring was exactly the same size. It had too much breading and the calamari was rubbery. My husband had the clams and linguine and liked it. I had Chicken Primavera and could not eat it. The dish was swimming in a heavy alfredo sauce. The chef probably could have used 1/3 or less than what he did and gotten a much better product. Maybe we just caught the restaurant on a bad day because all of the reviews were good and it was recommended to us by a good friend. Sorry! read more

When my gal friday and I are out on the town (on Saturday..?), and we're feeling like a pizza pie we go this smoking hot house! Dinapoli's pizza is extremely awesome; it's like authentic NY pizza in its thin crust and tasty toppings, and the decore is romantic, yet casual. Superior to any chained pizza and Barstow (Sad-Town) owned pizza-places. My only complaint, and missing star, is the lacking service: even on slow days gaining server attention is like a one-man fire copmpany putting out a blaze - it takes A LONG time. read more

Big surprise in Barstow! We stayed at the nearby Quality Inn for the night on New Years Eve just so we'd be out of the LA Metro area for our drive to CO the next day...my mate is the pickiest Italian cook and HE LIKED IT!!! I come here every year on my annual visit to Barstow . The service and food is great! We had the antipasto salad with the delicious red dressing. Seems odd but it's very yummy.
