We've been to many other Ding Tea locations and enjoyed their drinks. This location had surprisingly disappointed us. Usually the people at the register would ask what level ice and sugar we'd like. It's been a while since we've been to a Ding Tea location and thought about trying this one out. The person at register did not ask us about sugar/ice level. Upon getting our drink (a lychee fruit juice), I felt the cup to be super heavy. I shook it to find out that the entire cup was filled with ice and filled with some lychee juice, it was really ridiculous. I asked the person at the register about it. She said it's usually a lot of ice in that specific drink because it's so sweet. It's a "very sweet drink" so they filled the cup up with ice? Hmm... Very interesting answer...I just left thinking this was a humorous but also very disappointing experience. I casually paid for a cup of flavored ice. read more

Super cute boba place with delicious boba drinks! Located in the food court area of the Town Center shopping center. There's plenty of parking and the girls that work there are super sweet and helpful!! I ended up ordering a peach slushy with golden Boba and it was so refreshing and hit the spot on a hot day! They have a few claw machines with plushy's they are fun and reasonable as far as price if you have the time. The small plushy's were only a dollar...well that's if your lucky and actually get one they also have a cute little flower wall where you can take a picture. Not many decent boba places around the area but Ding Tea is slightly hidden in the plaza. Not a place to hang out though, just grab and go. Ding Tea-Foothill Ranch is located in the Foothill Ranch Towne Center. There used to be a movie theater right next to it (but unfortunately had closed down). This plaza seems really dead and abandoned. There's a good variety of eateries in this plaza that we've yet to try. We ordered a Strawberry Yakult smoothie w rainbow jelly and of course, a Matcha Milk Tea. Both were very good. The Strawberry Yakult drink was delicious!! Ding Tea is my top choice for boba since they are the only chain (that I know of) that has golden boba. I highly prefer golden boba than black boba. Golden boba has a much lighter and more chewy texture, with a hint of sweetness. Black boba is also sweetened w brown sugar syrup, and golden boba is sweetened w honey. Sometimes you just want to grab a boba that's close by rather than making an entire journey out of it, so I grabbed Ding Tea while dining for lunch in the Food Festival Food Court in Foothill Ranch. I have been here in the past, and their strawberry yakult was always solid, but I went with a Hokkaido coffee since I was craving something more caffeinated, and honestly, I was pretty disappointed. The flavor was a bit too artificial and overpowering in terms of the caramel, though that could just me choosing the wrong thing. I probably just wanted a more traditional Vietnamese coffee which I would get the next time, but perhaps it's not the right move to grab coffee at a place that doesn't specialize in it. The boba was nothing to write home about. The price is right around the range of your typical boba joint if not a bit more after the upcharges, but with my experience, it wasn't really worth it and was disappointing after the first sip. It won't be my last time here, since I'll forget about this experience and end up here out of convenience, but I do hope it's better next time. TIP: Stick with the classics rather than any weird flavors. read more

I ordered the lychee slush with golden boba and after a short wait, received it. The lychee slush tasted really sweet (which I was pleased with) and wasn't too icy like some other slushes I have had in the past. The golden boba also tasted warm which shows it was freshly made! Here's the move: Strawberry Fruit Tea, LARGE, 30% sweet, add strawberry popping boba. On a hot day, I can unfortunately drink this $8 drink in 30 seconds. I like that there's a self service kiosk. That means you can order while someone is ordering on the counter. You can also order online which is really nice because then my drink is ready when I get there if I order ahead. The inside has a background for a nice photo op and there's a crane machine to win cute prizes. The crane is kind of weak so the closer prizes are your best bet. The dalgona milk tea was good and caffeinated enough for me. I do like that you can adjust the sugar level and ice level. It's great for my boyfriend who is diabetic. He gets 30% or no sugar. Placed my order at the self-service kiosk today. After I paid, the employee tells me they're out of milk. I asked for a refund and she said that they only do store credit. What if a person gets sick from their drinks and wants a refund? They're gonna give them store credit instead and tell them to drink their products again when that person knows they'll never return to the store again? There was no sign that says "no refunds" either. The milk option could've been blocked on the kiosk, there could've been a note posted on/near the kiosk stating they're out of milk, or the employee could've just simply informed me they were out of milk when I walked in (they weren't busy, I was the only customer at that time). That would've been proper customer service. It's a scam not to process refunds when the owner/manager fails to order the adequate amount of inventory and not train their employees to let the customers know before they pay. It's also milk. One of the key ingredients of a tea establishment. It's just really poor customer service not letting the customers know before they pay and only giving store credit. Cool Boba Shop! So, I didn't know that not all Ding Tea locations have the same drink flavors. Most of the drinks are the same, but each location has a drink or drinks of their own. At least that's what the cashier said when they didn't have a drink I usually order at other locations. Nice clean place. Seating inside and out available. Absolutely had a great time coming to this store. They make your order right away and everything tasted good. I ordered their lychee green tea and it was very refreshing and not too sweet. Mg nephew got their lychee chocolate tea and it was quite interesting flavor. As he described it "lychee with a chocolate shake aftertaste". Lol. Mg niece ordered the Hokkaido milk tea which was "tasty and perfect for a hot day". Service was good and indoor decor was nice. This place has games that you can play so that was fun. Nice boba place located in the Foothill Ranch plaza/area. Conveniently located in the "dining hall" by the now Cinemark movie theater, this place offers all sorts of tea flavored drinks, milk teas, slushies, and much more! The staff here is friendly and there is plenty of parking. The menu is on two tv screens and it was annoying to read the menu as the screen would flicker on and off to an ad from the boba shop. For people who don't know what to expect, we had to stand there for over 5 mins trying to decide what we wanted cause we couldn't read the menu. I recommend the boba shop consider having a printed out/laminated menu for easier reading purposes. They do have 1 kiosk on the side, if you want to look at that too. I got the passionfruit green tea with lychee jelly and it was tasty and sweet. It was however a bit too pulpy for me, so I think next time I'd go for something different. Service was very poor. We were the only customers in the store, the young Asian girl working there didn't greet us, didn't look at us, and was in her phone as soon as she finished taking our order. Didn't even wait to give a receipt before she picked up her phone. We felt like an inconvenience to her just being there. My drink itself did not taste good at all. You'd expect a franchise to have some level of consistency but maybe that was too big of an ask. Ordered a classic milk tea with boba. I can't say it tasted bad, but only because there was no taste to it. If I closed my eyes, I would've thought it was a cup of water with boba. While the employee was helpful and did what she could to make it stronger, I think the cheap owner's recipe for the tea might be a teaspoon of tea leaves per 5-gallon jug. Ding ding ding! We have a winner, folks! Ding Tea is a great spot for a refreshing drink with some great flavors that are a bit out of the ordinary. We ordered the "Winter Melon" flavor with boba and it was super tasty! In fact we thought we would share one, but it was finished so quickly we ended up going back for two more! It had this almost but not quite vanilla melon flavor that was unlike anything I'd had before. Maybe it's because I'm new to the milk tea scene but wow it was good! The location provided quick and efficient takeout service despite the pandemic. Even on a weeknight, there were quite a few people here looking for refreshment but our drinks were ready in no time. It is located next to the movie theater with several other hole in the wall type restaurants. Employees were wearing masks and we're complying with safety orders. Located in the Food Festival food court, the interior is small (as most are) but if you wanted to sit and relax with your drink there are many patio tables outside. I'm not certain but the menu here looked a bit smaller than other locations. I always order the same thing - hokkaido oolong milk tea with boba - and did so yet again. I like the sweet honey boba and "caramely" taste of this milk tea. The staff here were super friendly and were excellent shakers. Like a good cocktail, Ding serves their drinks shaken, not stirred. Soft Opening 7/14-7/24 11:00 am - 8:00 pm! Drinks are 20% off this weekend. Since it's their soft opening, they don't have their Monster Latte available. That's my typical DT order. Instead I opted for the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba. Day 1 and their boba was nice and chewy. Was going to be super disappointed if they didn't get that right! There were about 4 people working (two making drinks and one cashier). Hopefully their drink making pace gets better as it gets closer to their Grand Opening but my drink did take longer than usual. There wasn't a line when I ordered and only two people waiting for drinks. Store itself is small. They didn't have any seating inside due to COVID but even if they did, I don't think they would have too many tables. The outdoor seating area is open though. It's nice that boba stores are finally opening up in South OC. Honestly a luxury to have a boba place within a 10 minute drive! The other DT location in MV is a bit far. They keep trying to convince me to like it, but I just can't adapt to the taste. Here are the flavors I've tried: Guava Fruit Tea - I love guava flavor but I didn't like the way they make theirs. It had a stale taste. Taro Milk Tea - I ordered this at 50% sweetness, and it was still so sweet. Hokkaido Milk Tea - My daughter and son love this drink. It is way too sweet for me. Hazelnut Milk Tea - Daughter's favorite. Cloyingly sweet for my liking. Their boba taste good. It has the right chewiness to it. Service here is always on par, fast and friendly. Ding Tea cater more for the average younglings' "sweet tooths" (yes, it's tooths not teeth lol). So, if you're not a fan of overly sweet drinks and prefer a stronger tea taste to your fruit tea or milk tea, Ding Tea isn't the place for you.
