I've been to the DT in NB and this one was about the same. Got a signature milk tea and two matcha latte and was average-ly satisfied. The golden boba are ridic chewy... like wtf when will the chewing end chewy, which is something I'm not used to (see disclaimer) since other bobas are softer and sweeter. The actual MT was okkkkkk, a bit watered down for my taste but decent. Like the fact that they have lots of topping options tho. They also don't have a perk service set up, so my 3 drinks were for nothing- boo. But the worker/manager/not sure said they are trying to get that running during their actual opening. Ding tea is starting to spread around all over Orange County! I did not even know this one existed literally a few minutes away from my place. It is located at the foothill town center, they have all the usual flavors and tea that you will find in the other ding tea. This time I tried the signature milk tea, with golden boba and the pineapple tea with boba. They were both good! My personal favorite is still the Hokkaido milk tea with boba. I went in today excited that the store now offers soymilk (nondairy option) I ordered the hokkaido milk tea boba and didn't realize it was going to be super sweet. As I wait, I was watching the girl name Candice making my drink and I politely asked her if she could make my drink less sweet since she filled up a quarter of the cup with caramel. She threw the cup with lots of caramel she was making into the sink sarcastically and loudly, as if it was such a pain to scoop out some of the caramel out..while Candice replied "YEA" to me, rudely. I had Ding tea before a few times and I understand their sweet level can be very sweet. For over a $6 drink (add ons soymilk & boba), I would expect it to be awesome with great customer service! Dude brought out my drink because I was too busy chatting with friends to notice them calling my number. Now I feel obligated to rate them lol. A+ service for sure. Not that there's much. But Ding has been a staple in my boba rotation since I discovered them in SD. I loved it for being cheap but good. A happy middle ground between garbage at low tier boba shops and high end elsewhere. But honestly, I was a little flabbergasted at how pricey my drink was here. $5+ for one large drink. Is this the OC premium I'm paying for? Cause Ding is not this expensive in SD or the LA suburbs. My go to orders are lychee black tea and the signature milk tea (regular sweetness for both) and they are both delicious! This location is decorated with social media in mind. As soon as I saw the wall I knew I would take a photo with my drink before leaving. Located in the Foothill Food Court, there is plenty of parking and outdoor seating. The only reason not rating this place five stars is that service has been extremely hit or miss. Some days I've ended up waiting 15+ minutes in line to order due to only two people working while others I've walked in where there is no one in line but four people behind the counter waiting to help. Hopefully as they continue to operate in this location they will have a better gauge on the number of staff needed at different times. read more

I would like to start by saying I ordered 7 drinks here and my husband spent lots more in the claw games. Drinks came out fine albeit a little sweet which you can always adjust for next time. We waited awhile for our drinks because they still had to finish 6 drinks before working on my order and 1 person was working to fill the order while another takes orders until they can help fill too. I can understand the wait. What I can't understand is why they won't let paying customers use their restrooms? after having to wait about 20 minutes for our drinks, my 6 year old needed to go and was near about to pee in his pants onto their floors, wherein I was told by the employees he can go next door. I went next door and was chewed out by their owner who said "they have their own restroom. They need to stop sending people here. I'll let you use it this once." I can't fault that restaurant for their misdirected anger at us since it makes sense. All other establishments in that plaza allow their customers to use their restrooms and yet Ding tea, a place that sells drinks which are natural diuretics, would risk their paying customers having UTIs or allow kids to pee in their pants and potentially on their floors because of their stingy bathroom policies. This ding tea just fails in the customer service department for me. It would be better to go to other boba shops in the area who care for their customers and their well being. read more

Wow! Where do I begin? The place is decorated so nicely. Given that it opened during a pandemic, I will bring my friends in the future to hang out there. It's a very welcoming atmosphere. Also, the menu has an assortment of different flavors and toppings. I got the strawberry milk tea and it tastes so good! Reminds me of yogurt and doesn't taste like tea. I also recommend their taro milk tea. The service was great and the employees were so kind! Karsten was the one who took my order. I've been to other Ding Tea locations which had amazing drinks and service, but I don't think this location lives up to the reputation. I was really excited about this location opening up because it's right by my house, but every time I've gone here I've been disappointed. I get the same drink almost every time which is Strawberry Milk Tea with Cheese Foam on top, 50% sweetness. It's my absolute favorite drink combo to get because I know it's a solid drink, but the Foothill Ranch location just doesn't cut it. The first thing I noticed was off is the appearance. The color is an unpleasant grayish color whereas the other locations had more of a pink color. Also, whatever kind of strawberries they use in their drinks does not look or taste fresh at all. I don't really know how to describe it other than that the drink doesn't seem like it was made with real and fresh strawberries. It doesn't really taste like real strawberries either, it's more of an artificial flavor. I find myself never finishing their drinks even though I always down my Strawberry Milk Teas almost instantly from other locations. Also, the service here could improve. Last time I went there, the girl at the register just stared at her register screen or watching whatever her coworker was doing for a while before even acknowledging me, even though I was standing right at the counter. Once she decided to acknowledge me she didn't seem like she was in a good mood and didn't greet me whatsoever. Not only that, she got my drink wrong, but part of that was my fault as she did ask me to check the screen if it was right, but I glanced too fast and said it was okay. I didn't notice until after I got home. I obviously wanted to love this place because I've always had great experiences at other Ding Teas, but this one didn't meet my expectations. I probably won't be coming here again, but if I do, I might just switch to a different drink. Definitely brush up on the service! read more
