This place has amazing decor, from the entrance, the patio, the bar, the restroom, I mean talk about attention to detail. We were there to celebrate my birthday and I was welcomed with a special menu, personalized with my name. Super cute!! We were seated at as booth and our server was super friendly. Since it was our first be time she made recommendations to try. The menu seems to be majority drinks, and they are extravagant and unique. We had the street corn which was surprisingly good and had a good spicy kick. The pollo mole was a good portion, tortillas were 3 small Taco tortillas and 3 small flour. The rice had an amazing flavor, very unique, the mole negro was heavier on the flavor. Chilaquiles were a very generous portion, the roasted flavor was interesting but I do wish the chilaquiles were crunchy, it was too soft. The lobster ceviche was our least favorite, it had a very mild almost bland flavor. I really appreciate that our server packed our food table side, definitely something that not every place offers and I love! I personally wouldn't come here again. Service: horrible. There's probably something in the water that all the workers drink because they all suffer from amnesia. Whatever we wanted, we had to ask for it multiple times. It just wasn't one time, it was at least 6 items we had to ask for over and over. We went on a Saturday evening and it's not like they were super busy. Mixed drinks: nicely presented but don't have much alcohol. Just call them agua frescas with a hint of alcohol. I had the rich bitch and fridas garden but both disappointed. The fridas garden was nicely presented but I didn't taste any alcohol. Food: we shared the nachos. They were good bc they had mole sauce. I had the shrimp enchiladas. Large serving. The food is good but not good enough to make me come here again. Ambiance: it's nicely decorated, but this place is a mess. The service does not match the niceness of the restaurant, the drinks don't match the price tag, and the food is ok. We have been here about 4-5 times. We love the food and drinks. Tonight I'm not sure what happen, the bartender looked tired and grouchy. We ordered dinner and two drinks. Do you think she ever asked if we wanted another drink or some water to go with the dinner??? Nope. We are sitting at the bar so that should be a hint that we are looking to buy more than two drinks. We were completely sober coming in so I don't get it. Why work the bar if you are not friendly. I figure the owner is trying to sell drinks right? Disappointing. My lady and I come to diosa last night for a date night and had a fantastic time. The food was excellent the service was superb our server Juan Antonio did a fantastic job. It's a beautiful restaurant perfect for a date night. A couple of items were a little high in price, but the majority of the menu was appropriately priced, if not underpriced, for the quality and quantity of the food you receive. Chef Hector came out to our table to check personally how we were and asked for feedback on the plates. We didn't have much to say everything was fantastic. From our appetizers (the mango habanero aguachiles and steak empanadas) to the octopus zarandeado and pork shank. I dined at DIOSA for my birthday last night and it was an amazing experience for my party and me. Our servers were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance was pretty cool; they even had a DJ. Everyone liked their drinks and were obsessed with the food. Maybe because we're Mexican and appreciate spice/overwhelming flavors but the tuna tartare was the best that I've tried in the LA area. First off, this restaurant is beautiful! Decor and ambiance I give it a 10/10. Not lacking in anything in that area. Food was delicious, a little pricey but I'd say worth what we ate with the exception of the smoked guacamole. However, I like a stiff drink and two Santorinis later I didn't feel a slight buzz. I'd say the drinks are more on the sweet side but very cute and classy looking. Now the service was lacking from start to finish. I don't know if they were short staffed, but we were a party of 5 and celebrated a friend's birthday and overall, spent MORE than 3 hours at the restaurant from ordering drinks to food to her birthday dessert and splitting the check. While we did fill the time with conversation and enjoy each others company, we couldn't help but comment several times that the service was very, very slow and for us arriving at 6pm for a reservation, at that time the restaurant was not very busy. High expectations. Half way service. Food: the mole enchiladas are good but filled with carne asada and potatoes. The mole has a really good flavor. The guac is smoked (never had it that way before). Great presentation but you can't taste the smokiness. The guac is on the chunkier sides. Skinny margarita has great flavor but the black salt rim is very very salty. I recommend you get it without the rim or ask for a straw. We ordered the churros to go and they do stay fresh. Service: I ordered the mole chicken but was given the mole enchiladas in error. I informed staff that my meal was incorrect and they took it back and brought me back the same plate saying that was what I ordered. I would have appreciated a correction to my meal instead of insisting I didn't know what I ordered. The manager came over to ask if we needed anything and we asked for a box, he went to go get a box and never returned. They did comp my enchiladas. I wouldn't say their service is bad but I think some attention to detail would go a long way. Location: The venue is absolutely gorgeous. Feels like you're in Miami. If you're thinking of hosting a big dinner party, I would recommend this place for a summer bash. Diosa is all about the vibe! They got a DJ playing cool music in the background. All the employees are dressed to impress! Food was delicious but very limited. Your table has to agree in eating the same things because the portions are mostly all to share. I think with the drinks you just need to be lucky on who the bartender is because all all the margaritas we ordered were not good. Except for the old fashions, but then again you cant go wrong with those. The bar on this day was running behind because all our drinks were late and at one point we even had to cancel one of them. The tacos were delicious, and I'd definitely reorder them. It's definitely one of the better ones I've had in Downey. Generous amount of meat with a nice char flavor. The empanadas were okay. Didn't like the outer texture or the flavor of the filling much. The sauces they came with were both delicious. Expenses. Worth it? 0/1 Each taco was $12 bucks, and the steak empanadas were $18 bucks (3 mini ones). They include a 3% surcharge on top of your total. To get an idea of how much you'll be spending. The total for 2 modelos beers, 4 asada tacos, one order of steak empanadas, and an iced tea was $92.42 (not including tip). Prices of the food are a bit higher due to the ambiance. To be fair, the location is beautiful. I'm honestly on the fence on whether I think it's worth it. On the one hand, the food was good and the location was nice. However, I think whether coming here is worth it or not will depend entirely on the atmosphere you're looking for. I think this spot would probably work better for a date. For a nice, delicious meal with the family, it felt like too much fluff and noise. I had a good time anyway, but it just wasn't the vibe we were looking for. I think it'll be worth coming here for many since you can get the quality and glitz of Vegas without having to drive there, but for me personally, it was not. I took my dad here for father's day and although it looked nice on the inside, unless you were just going to drink it wasn't good for much of anything else.
