I tried Diosa for my first time today and it was a delight. I was greeted by the host and was taken to my table immediately. Victor was my waiter and he was amazing. Very attentive and he was able to tell me about a couple great items on the menu and offered a green and red salsa that he thought I would like with my dish. For my Sunday morning brunch, I had mimosas and the shrimp enchiladas with rice and beans. My dish was delicious and full of flavors. On top of the delightful food, the ambiance was beautiful. I had made a reservation for 7:45pm for Valentine's Day in advance, and fully aware this was going to be an extremely busy evening. To start the evening, my date and I checked in and handed a buzzer and told there's a two hour dining limit. We were waiting for about 35 minutes at the bar and I asked about our table at the hostess desk, and she let me know she called my name. I didn't hear my name being called, nor did the buzzer go off, so that was already an interesting start. Then, the young hostess was basically running to the tables outside and was told by another staff member to slow down. The outside thankfully had heaters and the decor wasn't too bad, however, the music that was playing a personal speaker and also playing music off of someone's phone. The speaker was very loud and my date and I started to hear artists like Taylor Swift and the Black Eyes Peas play, which I notified the server the music was terribly loud and also not pleasant. The server said the manager won't change the music but can authorize the music to be turned down. Overall the server, staff, and food were thankfully good but the reservations should've been limited in order to have your guests have the best quality experience and not have it be so disorganized and an after thought. My date and I were dressed up and had to sit outside with individuals that were clearly not dressed appropriately and we felt like the entire experience was an afterthought. The birria empanadas were tasty and a nice start to our meal, comes with 3 total fyi. The pork shank was super tender and off the bone good. But the trio fajitas were the real winner, the flavor was another level of good and I would definitely get that again. The portions were appropriate and very filling in my opinion. Location is terrible and wayyy overpriced. The inside is "fancy" but it's located in a strip mall type parking lot on a Main Street where there is always traffic. Went once with a group of girl friends and won't go back. They made us park far as they were saving spots for valet. After ordering drinks we had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks including a non alcoholic beverage. The food came to the table before the drinks (horrible). The ambiance is so nice but the service is horrible especially the waiters they don't check up on you, I literally had to flag them down to grab their attention. I visited this place for the 3rd time already and it will be my last. The food & drinks are okay but overpriced. This place keeps declining after every visit. Happy hour is from Saturday to Monday all day:) We tried various items from the menus and everything was flavorful, hot, fresh and with quality ingredients. We loved the margaritas and pina coladas.The decor is so beautiful and modern. Beautiful atmosphere. The chefs, waitresses, and hosts were phenomenal. They were very friendly, funny, kind, and very accommodating. Easy parking and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The bar area is large with high end furniture. I didn't try them but I hope they're good. I just don't think this restaurant fits the demographic of Downey. Maybe Beverly Hills. That's the vibe when you walk into this place. The service was good.
