Absolute nightmare. This is the company Costco uses for installations, and they are incompetent. They have canceled and delayed three separate appointments. You cannot reach them by phone--expect to sit on hold for 30+ minutes before getting disconnected and when you finally do reach someone they can only promise delayed installation. If you see this company name on your order, expect delays and zero communication. read more

The installer who showed up at my house to install a dishwasher ordered through Costco was very unprofessional. He did not take off his shoes; was on the phone the entire time (on hold), and was not tactful. He asked for $200 to install a GFCI even though they had not asked me anything about it when they scheduled the installation. I told him that I could have bought a GFCI for maximum $40 and installed it myself had they told me it was required prior to showing up at my house. He refused to leave the dishwasher and haul away the old dishwasher. He said he would stay in his vehicle until i call costco customer service but he took off as soon as he got into his vehicle. P.S. it turned out that the wall outlet was already connected to a GFCI outlet, so I didn't need a GFCI. read more

I want to bring serious attention to my terrible experience with Direct Connect Connections (DCC), the contractor Costco uses for dishwasher installations. When their technician arrived at my home, I was told I needed to pay $180 for a GFCI outlet installation and $120 to replace a valve -- totaling $300 out of pocket, even though Costco advertises "free installation." After doing my own research, I discovered that while a GFCI outlet might be required, DCC's own pricing email to me listed the GFCI installation at $120, not $180. On top of that, our existing valve was fully functional and had been working perfectly with the old dishwasher. It felt like the technician's goal was to upsell unnecessary services and squeeze more money from customers -- possibly because Costco isn't paying them adequately. Costco's decision to partner with a contractor engaging in questionable pricing tactics jeopardizes customer trust and the company's reputation for transparency and value. If this reflects the standard experience for installations, customers deserve to be fully informed and protected from such practices. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: I would like to give credit to Veronica, the Field Operations Manager at DCC. After I submitted my initial installation review and feedback, Veronica personally reached out to inquire about the situation. She was attentive, willing to listen to my concerns, and suggested rescheduling a second dishwasher installation. In light of the inconvenience, she assured me that DCC would waive any costs should modifications be necessary for the installation. We also agreed that the price for the GFCI outlet would be honored as listed in the pricing email previously sent by DCC. Today, the technician, Oscar, did an excellent job installing the dishwasher. He did not mention the need for any additional valves and only noted the requirement for a GFCI outlet, originally priced at $120. After I explained that Veronica had confirmed this cost would be covered by DCC, Oscar proceeded to install the outlet at no additional charge to me. Oscar demonstrated great professionalism by completing the dishwasher installation in under an hour. He also took the time to clean the work area thoroughly after finishing the job. This second installation appointment significantly improved my overall impression of DCC, and I appreciate the effort made to address my concerns and provide a better service experience. read more

Like others have mentioned right below, I was asked to pay $280 ($180 for a GFCI outlet and $100 for an air gap) during my dishwasher installation -- even though Costco advertised free installation when I bought the appliance. The air gap itself costs about $5 at Home Depot, yet they charged $100 for what was essentially a 10-minute job. Costco says installation is free, but be prepared to pay close to $300 in surprise charges! To make matters worse, the installers didn't show up during the scheduled window and arrived late, which completely disrupted my evening plans. While the DCC installers were courteous and did a good job, I don't understand why customers who were promised free installation are stuck paying nearly $300 out of pocket. I will not be buying appliances from Costco again. read more

Bought a new dishwasher from Costco to replace my old but still functioning dishwasher. Costco sent DCC for installation and that's where the nightmare started. Upon arrival, the two installers told my wife that the outlet needed to be GFCI outlet and drainpipe needs to be replaced. The charge was $320 (~$50 from Home Depot). They said they will NOT do the installation until the GFCI outlet is installed with the new drainpipe. It was four days before Christmas and my wife wanted to have a new dishwasher so she okayed with the $320 charge. They cut the drainpipe right the way then realized they couldn't get the old dishwasher out. The two installers didn't know what to do. So, they told my wife the new dishwasher didn't fit. They wanted my wife to buy a smaller dishwasher then just left! When I came back home, not only the new dishwasher was not installed but the old dishwasher cannot work neither. I had to rush to buy another dishwasher from Costco cause my wife was told to buy a LG dishwasher that is quarter inch shorter so it will fit. In three days, DCC person came again. I was home this time. This installation guy was so arrogant. He came and measured the height of the old dishwasher and told me the new LG wouldn't fit. I told him the previous installers said the LG should fit but this guy said they are not professional. This guy simply left without showing me the LG dishwasher. I was so furious and call their dispatch. The answer was they can not do the installation due to the height limit. Then I called my own handyman who charged $150 for both installation and haul away. He got it all done in an hour (remove old one and install the new dishwasher. My handyman then told me it's full of bs from DCC for mischarge the outlet and drainpipe but also lying about dishwasher height. They just needed to do extra tweak to remove old dishwasher, and they were not willing to do it.. Horrible DCC!!!! read more

Direct Connect Connections (DCC) had installed our Nuvo water filter and softener units. The DCC technician, Gustavo Dominguez, was very friendly, professional, quick, and competent. He provided me a very good and accurate installation turnaround time and, at the completion of the work, Gustavo carefully instructed me on how to operate the system and how to replace the cartridges when needed. I was assured that I could call DCC or Gustavo if there were any questions on the operations of the system. Overall, I was very pleased with DCC in their service and work performance. Antonio and Moises called To ask if they can arrive earlier than our appointment time. They came early, loaded our old dishwasher for haul away, then installed the new dishwasher. They turned it on to make sure it was running properly. Aside from a corroded leaky hose we had which was causing the gadget on our kitchen sink to spit out water instead of air, the dishwasher works. They offered to replace the part we needed, but we declined because we can buy the parts and install on our own to save money. Thank you Antonio and Moises for being fast and efficient. read more

I got a KitchenAid dishwasher from Costco and DCC is the contracted installer. I got a text message saying the technician will be here between 1-5pm. But around 12:30 I got a phone call from the technician saying he was 20 minutes away. The technician arrived just as he mentioned. Our old dish washer was hard wired so I needed to pay an extra $120 for the new outlet. We also didn't have an air gap for the old dish washer and apparently the new code for the dishwasher in California is an air gap is required. So that's an extra $100. I just want the dishwasher installed so I paid $220 in total. An email to inform the buyer about the extra cost when I buy appliances from Costco would have been nice. The installation was straight forward. He's done in about an hour. He's nice but I was not prepared for the extra cost. read more

Jaime and Saul came to install the dishwasher I bought from Costco. It was an efficient process from the email notification, asking for necessary information for a quick install to the text advising when they would be arriving to completing the job. They did the work and asked if I wanted the stop gap replaced and I said no. No upsell, they finished the job and Jaime informed me how to use the dishwasher. It was all good, but after they left I regretted not replacing that item as it would cost more to have a plumber come out and replace that small part. I called the office and they accommodated me as they only offer that during job as part of the installation. Jaime came back and graciously installed the part. They were clean, neat, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. It is a good partnership with Costco. read more

Wowsa, what a fun experience this was. Like many others we purchased dishwasher through Costco, set up a delivery date and then we waited ... and waited . The day of apt and we realize we never received any kind of confirmation the day before. Call all their listed numbers (actually 4 ) for hours without getting a hold of anyone. Finally speak to Costco customer service. In Their notes it says DCC are having car issues, the customer (us) have been contacted and we're now rescheduled a week out ! No one ever contacted us, trough email or phone. After lots of going back and forth we somehow end up getting on their schedule for the following day . Installer shows up , he was friendly and seemed like he knew what he was doing (trust me he KNEW what he was doing). In about 20min he had the machine hooked up. He told us we might need a new air gap and how old the one we had was. He turns machine on and walks out. 10 min later we realize water is gushing out under the sink . Installer is now telling us we need to pay for him to come back and fix his error??!! That its a separate visit as he's already left. Even tho he himself actually pointed out while installing the machine he is not ALLOWED to leave if there is any water leakage! At this point he is pretty much calling me an idiot for not letting him install a new ($120) air gap when he was here and is calling me dramatic when describing HOW MUCH water is leaking ('its prob just a little drip right..!?'). We opt to pickup an air gap ourselves ($6!) , when we pull the hose out we realize he never hooked the pieces up !! The air gap and tubing were just touching and not 'clamped together' . The condition of our old air gap was also completely FINE. I then remembered reading other ppl mentioning the air gap charge on here ! What a complete scam !! Also , the entire time he was referring to me as Darling and Dear. I told him several times this is extremely condescending- and still he kept doing it! How could Costco ever hire a complete bamboozel company like this one ..?? Wow read more
