This venue was fantastic. Went to support Compton Cowboys and had a great time! It's located in an industrial area so you can get some great train track photos if that's your jam. The entry to the venue and the restrooms are accessible. There was ample room outside for lasso practice, small informative "museum" a couple of booths (thank goodness for the fan and cake businesses). I did not try the food provided by the venue as there was only one line for the entire venue however there were 2 lines for adult beverages that moved very quickly and individual booths were you could grab some dessert swag or a fan to quell the heat! There were tables at yo for spades uno and other games, a mechanical bull that I was not ready for Jenga line dancing and more .... Oh did I mention there was a whole RAVE inside with two tattoo artists at the entrance if you're feeling brave. I loved the venue and the event. I just wish there had been more options for food. Stopped by on Friday for lunch after running errands with the family. The place had just opened, so it was empty. We wanted to catch the game that started at 10 am, but unfortunately they weren't able to put it on for us. The food menu is pretty limited. My husband and I ordered the birria tacos and he also got the esquite, while our son went with the Dirt Dog. What I did like was the large selection of tall cans... my husband got a draft beer and I had a White Claw. Based on the menu pictures, I had higher expectations. The Compound must be the Dirt Dog headquarters because it's massive and is set up like a distribution warehouse. I came here for a music event in the evening and although they typically close at 8:30pm on Saturday, they continued to serve food till 11:30pm for event attendees. I appreciated them for doing that! All the staff were really nice and service was decent. Tucked away in an industrial area of Commerce, you'll pull up to a large lot with a spacious outdoor seating area with interactive games for kids and a dope mural of Kobe, Snoop, Ice Cube and Nipsey Hustle. Upon entering, you can order at the bar and checkout the cool hip hop art work displayed throughout the dining area. They must have some awesome events utilizing the empty warehouse next to the dining area. The sound system was bumpin and the crowd was vibin the night I was there. I had the Elote Dog ($12.50), which was a bacon wrapped hot dog topped with corn, lime mayo, cotija cheese, chili powder, cilantro and bacon bits. It tasted just like the street corn I buy from my neighborhood vendors and I'm glad I opted for the buttery lobster roll bread. I had no idea what to expect today, but I was seriously surprised. This has to be one of the wildest places I've ever walked into for the first time. Huge murals of hip-hop artists all over the walls, old-school 90s music blasting, the music I used to spin back in the day when I was DJing. Every song took me back. I had no clue a place like this even existed, especially hidden in the middle of some industrial complex. You'd never think thete would be a restaurant, but yeah, there is, and it's a cool one! There's a big bar in the middle, and next door they've got a full-on venue for concerts and wrestling. The whole setup is sick. The menu? Totally insane. All the hot dogs looked wild, but I ended up going with the Elote Dog. This thing was loaded. Grilled corn, cotija cheese, mayo, chili powder, cilantro, bacon bits, and a fat slice of lime right on top. And this hot dog wasn't small either, you need a fork just to get into it. Every bite had flavor. The corn and lime together hit just right, the bacon gave it that crunch, and the cheese pulled it all together. Super good. This spot was a little off the route I usually take, but now I'm definitely checking out their other locations. Honestly I will NEVER come here again!! We went to an amazing event last Sunday which was an all girls event held at this place. There were too many people and the lines were extremely long for the indoor restrooms and small porta potties they had outside. So being that it was an all girl event we decided to stand in line for the men's restroom so that we wouldn't pee on ourselves. The security closed the door in front of our face and told me in a bold face lie that it is ILLEGAL for a women to use a "man's" restroom at an all women's event. Which is a LIE and honestly deserves a lawsuit. I asked for the policy and never got one. Next time yall want to discriminate maybe not have an all women event. The service was horrible and the food is not even worth the time. I won't be back. Response to Owners Reply: I saw a max of 3 men at this event who could also use the porta potties, but i guess they aren't for them as well. I could understand if there were multiple stalls but there was 1 stall in the men's restroom and a urinal. There were minimum 20 people in line for each restroom and multiple people used that restroom before it was rudely closed in front of me and i was told it was illegal which again is a lie. I understand the safety of staff but i heard no one say they felt unsafe that multiple people were using that restroom before the door was closed. I was just told it was illegal. Not only was i a customer, i was also a vendor at this event behind the DJ booth so i didn't have regular available access to the porta potties. I appreciate the effort to make amends but your staff should be better trained on what is illegal and what is not. Maybe try making the restroom gender neutral since MOST restrooms in California are. I ordered a Patty Melt and my customer ordered a DUI both on lobster roll. We also added garlic fries and a check in surprise of fried Oreos. My customer's DUI had hotdog, carne asada, pastrami, cheddar, cilantro & chipotle aioli, he said it was good with a ton of meat and very filling. My patty Melt was nothing like a traditional patty melt. It was a hotdog, cheddar cheese sauce, fries and bacon bits topped with chipotle aioli. It was good but wish it was more like a traditional patty melt. The garlic fries were one of the best I have eaten. Happy Memorial Day!! The place is pretty hidden behind a bunch of warehouses/ corporate buildings - the first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful mural outside of the famous influential celebrities as the heir version of Mount Rushmore. I love thick-cut fries that are soft & crispy & it goes with the guac & sauce to mellow out the umami flavor. Tacos are pretty good, it's similar to other tacos I get at taco trucks. The patty melt had pieces of bacon so it adds crunchiness and ooey goodness of the cheese + the fries are soo tasty. The chili dog was so bomb, chili was meaty and saucey, overall the hot dogs were super heavy and I could only eat half of it. The star of these meals was the fried Oreos with the horchata dip !! Something about hot, soft crisp chocolate-y Oreos dipped with creamy and sweet horchata was a mouthwatering combo! As many have said, this location is hard to find. It's in an industrial area with nothing around it. The vibe here is really cool. Spacious both in and outside. Plenty of tables and cool art all over! Dope music playing all day. Prices are fair for what you get. On this visit I tried the D.U.I. Dog. Pastrami, asada, cheese on a lobster roll. Sooo good. My only two complaints (I'm still giving 4 stars though) is 1: I don't like restaurants that cater to dogs. If I'm having lunch, what if a dog takes a poop while I'm eating? Gross. There's indoor seating so whatever. And two: my lobster roll ALWAYS, ALWAYS tears in half at the bottom. Not just mine, but when I go with other friends and family, theirs too. Oh and one more: their asada is much like other places. Too tough and I end up spitting most of it out. Carne asada is expensive so I don't expect quality anywhere.
