Disclaimer: I'm a Pink's and Dog Haus kind of Hot Dog eater. We noticed a Dirt Dog closer to our area than our normal go-to's and wanted to try. The presentation was great (who doesn't love something wrapped in bacon, served on a grilled bun or lobster roll?) I tried the dirty chili dog on the regular grilled bun, it looked outstanding! Also note the bun held up to the girth and weight of the chili and toppings so it did not make a mess of the packaging or me (covid times so couldn't eat it there). However, when I took my first bite of the dirty chili dog, the lack of snap, chew and flavor of the hot dog underwhelmed me. The chili was okay, but the bacon did not burst with flavor either but the rest of the toppings all blended nicely. If only there was a little more flavor and snap... Please don't hate me, I gave them four stars (good) because they go through all the motions and deliver a great presentation but I feel they need to work more with the ingredients to achieve the "wow" factor. Very hole in the wall when you pass by but it absolutely transforms when you go inside. The murals, music, and vibes were amazing! I felt comfortable due to the amazing costumer service we received from the 2 girls at the front. They were so friendly and sweet and took the time to explain what bun pairs better with each hotdog and their personal favorites. I ultimately ordered the D.U.I dog with the traditional bun and it was so bomb! I also had bite of the pastrami dog with the lobster roll and it was also just as amazing! My wife and I usually go to the one in LA off of fig and adams. After dealing with the parking over there the first time we went so that's why we rarely go. We decided to stop at the one in Downey because we were around the area. First thing I noticed was the huge parking lot space they had! I already knew it was going to be a great experience. Took our place in line and waited no more then 15 min. Got our order and for some reason the food here is more better? Ordered online, arrived in 15 minutes and the accurate food order was waiting for me at the cashier. They have a great menu to meet every taste. The Pastrami Dog was the best. The Elote Dog was also very good. I thought the House Dog had too many veggies. I took them off the dog and enjoyed them on the side though. The buns are fresh and soft. First time here and this place is dope. The food is great  and the employees are even better: Funny and friendly. The mural they've got outside is cool too tbh the whole place is just a vibe just check out their bathroom. An extra note on the food the pastrami dog was so good that I had to take an extra bite just to try it and it's funny cause I don't like pickles or pastrami . I ordered snoops dog and to my surprise it was spicy  but not so much so that it was ruined and I couldn't  enjoy it anymore. Oh LAWDY! I love Dirt Dog even though they're always busy. That should tell you how yummy their food is! Last time I went, they had a tent outside to provide cover for guests waiting to order. I'm glad that they're NOT providing outdoor dining for their guests. This shows that they care about their customers as well as their employees. They provide a sizeable portion for the price you pay! I finally got to try this hot dogs. They were really great in flavor and quantity. The service was good as can be expected during an opening during this pandemic.
