This Dirt Dog is on the East side and a friend had a gathering on this part of town so, it was only right to check this place out. The place is spacious. The walls filled with murals. The music ranged from Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, etc. The service was friendly and polite. The lady behind the counter had a smile on her face the whole time so, I didn't mind she didn't get my order right - it was similar. I wanted Elote as my side but what I got was Elote fries. Which worked out because I really love fries but was in the mood for fries. You have two options for buns: lobster roll bun (smaller) or the regular hotdog bun. All their hotdogs are bacon-wrapped. Hotdog options: house, plain, Elote, chili, L.A. cheesesteak, D.U.I., and HOT. Vegetarian? They have a Beyond Meat option. Fries: plain, garlic, dirty, filthy, chili, asada, D.U.I. - Elote fries were not even on the menu! If hotdogs are not what you're in the mood for, they have wings, tacos, burritos, Elote, and esquite. They have beer, miche, aguas Frescas, water, and fountain soda. Finish off your meal with fried Oreos. L.A. Cheesesteak Dog: Grilled onions, serrano peppers, black garlic aioli, angus steak, and provolone cheese. It's as good as it sounds. I picked lobster roll bun and it was buttery and crunchy. I had to eat this with a fork and knife. 4.5/5 Elote Fries: I guess it's a secret menu item since it's not on the menu. The fries were crispy and fluffy and topped off with esquite. The sweetness of the corn balanced out the salty hotdog. It was a lucky mistake. 4/5 D.U.I Dog: Pastrami, carne asada, cheddar cheese, Chipotle aioli, cilantro, and bacon bits. This screams "L.A.!!!" louder than the L.A. cheesesteak dog. Tried the regular hotdog bun with this one - it was ok. Fork and knife worthy as well. 4/5 Garlic Fries: I just love their fries. Garlic seasoning, garlic confit, parsley, and garlic dip on the side. Garlic on garlic on garlic...absolutely delightful! 5/5 There was an item on the menu that's quite intriguing even for someone who doesn't like spicy food: their HOT hotdog. My problem was with the hotdogs... they were too much and expensive! Normally too much would not be a bad thing but it was overwhelming and heavy . We ordered the DUI and although they were not stingy with the meats... it was too salty and oily for my taste . It needed something fresh to cut all the fat. My sister ordered the House Dog without bacon bits. That was great. A classic la street hotdog but it was drowning in mustard we could not finish it. They have a bar with beer, wine and drink options including dirty cocktails, shots, and assorted spirits. The service is quick and friendly. I went for a chili cheese dog on a lobster roll. No lobster, just a split butter bun. I'm glad I added the lobster roll, it was a tasty addition. The chili was spicy and delicious. I skipped fries this time, the dog was plenty. I'm not usually a hot dog guy. In the long lists of food it probably ranks dead last. That was until today. These guys know what they are doing. They start off with big pump Nathan's Best all meat dogs that are spite grilled to bring out every delicious bite. You get a choice of a really nice artesian buns that absolutely hold up and the traditional lobster roll, which is a grilled bread bun. They have a tremendous amount of choices which makes a first timer like me a difficult choice to make. I ended up ordering the Snoop Dog and the D.U.I. These dogs come ala carte. They do offer fries with tons of toppings as well. I just got the dogs so I could finish it all. The restaurant itself has a very industrial feel to it. Bare cement floors with graffiti walls and corrugated aluminum siding. It has high ceilings and they play old school hip hop in the dining room. It was really fun listening to these classics while eating this great food. The service staff is very good, looking after the guests, bringing them shower food and refilling drinks. Speaking of drinks, they also have a bar offering specialty drinks. There's a lot here to applaud! The Snoop Dog is slightly sweet with a nice sweet Cole slaw topped with bacon and a sweet Hennessy BBQ. The sweetness is very slight but it's there and it's really tasty. The D.U.I. Is a beast. Topped with pastrami and carne asada it's a meal. It was a little flat in flavor, believe it or not. I would almost recommend a mustard sauce to do the pastrami into. Both dogs were fantastic though. This place is AMAZING. I got the DUI dog and my gf got the Snoop Dog. We got a side of garlic fries to split. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh with creative ingredients. I would recommend only getting one dog per person because they are massive. The service was 10 out of 10. We were greeted by the friendly staff immediately upon entering and were treated so well the entire time. I'm actually stunned by how amazing the service was here today. Our friendly server even gave us waters to go without us asking. If management reads this please understand that your staff needs to be recognized. All this came out to a lil' under $40 which was crazy to think ... spending That much on hot dogs and fries. But you definitely pay for the cool people serving up the dogs. We all enjoyed our hotdogs and the fries were delicious. My husband made a comment of how good they were and believe me he's a connoisseur of fries! my brother-in-law from Colorado was here and he made a comment that the service was absolutely incredible that it was very different than what he has experienced in Colorado so that's a plus for our state in our city. The waitresses were so nice and on the ball it's a nice little bar and then you can go into another area so you don't have to be by the bar eating your hotdogs if you don't want to we thoroughly enjoyed the place and we will most likely be back and we would love to see one come to the Henderson area.
